  1. "Money" in football has changed. Sure we set a blueprint for things to come - but it was never like this. More so - the narrative and and outlook for players has changed. When we were at the top and the best team in football, we would still get competition from the other big clubs - Real, Barca, Bayern, Man Utd for our current crop of players signatures, and at times we would see some of our best go to these clubs like Robben, etc. City aren't like PSG, Real, etc. They are buyers by all means, but they buy to win. They don't care about big names and trying to make them work. They simply care about winning with funds spent. To the point that their second team would be considered more talented than nearly every other first team in the league. I disagree with Pep and KDB leaving. They'll be just as good. They'll be the reason rule changes are brought in due to such long running success. And they'll never get pulled up for their "spending".
  2. Am I the only one bored by City and the narrative around them? I really don't think having an unlimited bank account and a second team better than most of the top 4's first teams is some massive achievement. Am I the only one not impressed and don't think Pep is doing something any other manager could do with the buy in and support from owners. Start throwing in a salary cap for football because it will only get worse.
  3. Nkunku is a far more complete player than Werner. Not particularly close either. Also - anyone would look good for City. They're the Bayern Munich of the EPL. Buy up all the talent, and make Pep look like the best manager in the world when in fact he has an unlimited bank account and now players force their way there.
  4. The one time Sterling needed to be more selfish...
  5. Fofana has looked good since his blunder.
  6. Please no. We need midfielders. We just don't have anyone in the middle to pace the game, and then another to be a wall before the defence.
  7. Mount is actually hilarious. It is a sin to not hit the target from there. So many better things could have been done.
  8. Blast the shit out of this into the top corner.
  9. To be fair to Silva, I think Ayew actually committed a foul by pushing him in the back.
  10. Auba is actually doing a lot of good things on the pitch but not being used. He is the only one in the team trying to get between the lines and turn and look up. Mount should be doing a lot of this.
  11. This is actually our biggest problem. No control over the game. We don't have a good DMF to pace the game and we don't have a creative one either.
  12. I actually don't think we've looked too bad TBH. Just taking our time to build into the game.
  13. That is what Fofana needs to do. You're a gazelle. Use your pace and burst forward.
  14. lol its kinda funny at this point. Predictable. Jorgi is so bad to watch. When we actually play vertically we don't look bad. We look threatening. We just keep trying to do whatever it is we are trying to achieve by playing sideways constantly.
  15. Nkunku looks a real real talent. Quick, great shooting both inside and outside the box. Seems to have a good rhythm and understanding of the game. Super impressed by his ability to find a man running through the channels. Would be stoked if we get him. A young, pacey forward who knows how to put the ball in the back of the net.
  16. He looked really good against Real despite the loss. Also - his stats seem to be pretty decent again. Must be an us thing, and not the players so much. Hopefully Potter turns things around and makes it a want for players to get here and perform well. Chelsea has a cloud over it particularly for offensive players.
  17. So we clearly did a lot better, since I can't remember that from any of our games bar Tottenham.
  18. As we all know, massive changes should have happened on our first game. Becoming the best team in the world was the only acceptable option. Potter just got the team and needs to figure some things out clearly.
  19. We've actually looked like we know how to attack today. Potter just needs to put better players on the pitch to start with.
  20. Their approach at the Dodgers is lauded and heralded as a massive positive. They've been extremely successful since taking over there. They clearly know how to run a club. Tuchel is a polarising figure. No ways around it. It wasn't deemed as effective for them long term, and to be honest the brand of football we were playing wasn't great.
