Same. Kinda irks me, but it is what it is. Antonio really shouldn't have been on the pitch for their goal.
-
I mean... we win while playing poorly. That is necessary at times. We need creativity and some cutting passing from the midfield. Our attackers are not the problem as much as the connectivity that the midfield is not providing.
-
Mendy getting a lot of the blame despite James being the one that put us in a world of shit there. We love to pile on. Didn't deal with it the best, but that was on James. I feel like most our finding any reason now to hate on Mendy. GK is the least of our problems. Didn't deserve the luck we got today. Even the first goal was unbelievably lucky.

So is Jorginho
-
lol what a flukey goal. We will take it.
-
Emerson and Zouma look good in defence for WHU. They available?
-
Sadly I think it is viable at this point. This team isn't so bad to be making these results.
-
Da fuq? Fofana has been fine.
-
You can't deliberately hit a player in the head and not get a yellow... Whatever. We are a joke regardless.
-
Antonio shouldn't be on the field.
-
Another challenge that wasn't a foul...
-
I mean its not real possession football. We aren't bouncing it around in their half and threatening. It is just our CBs passing it back and forth at the half way line.
-
Nothing happened that entire half.
-
No one on this team runs across the line, and we rarely get in between their lines. We are an extremely vertical team. No point having all this width.
-
Gallagher isn't good enough. On top of that we play so slow, and we're lobbing in crosses when our 3 front men are all under 5'9... We have no idea and no creativity to our game. Slow as hell.
-
Why can't they VAR that nonsense? Now we have someone who has to play more cautious because the ref doesn't know shit about the game.
-
That wasn't even a foul on Cucu... What are these commentators on about?
-
Agreed. I've loved what I have read after the fact. Management seem to be infatuated with success and share a love for the game. From my perspective as well, they seem to be much better at cutting ties and making these cut throat decisions to just move on instead of attempting to wait and squeeze money out of what we have. Sometimes it is better to let go, cut the wage bill and move on. That is the reality in sports. You aren't always going to make the right decision signing a player. I think some needed to temper expectations on here as far as what we could and did achieve, since we had all these holds and bans put on us with the sanctions. The fact we have had the transfer window we had I think is spectacular. Results have been frustrating, but given all that has gone on the last 12 months, we were always going to be in for a rough ride. Time to build for the next 3 years here and create something big. It is a marathon, not a sprint.

Hopefully this allows Havertz to play as a second forward instead of the main one. Also, experiment with 4-3-3 and let Mount play his natural position. Havertz and Mount on the wings don't work. Give Pulisic some time on the right and lets see what him, Sterling and Auba can do up front. Zakaria is a mobile and big body. Won't get bullied. Super strong. He looks fairly technical as well. As long as he does the job of stopping the ball ping ponging, he is an immense help. He actually looks like he can drive and penetrate up the field with the ball. We are severely lacking this. RLC seems to be the only one capable and he just went down.
-
A lot happened while I slept in Australia... So basically: - Auba is done - Zakaria is done on loan - Depay looking good to join? That about cover it? Anyone else coming in I missed?

Tosser in the white polo deserves a headbutt. He is a soccer player there talking about a transfer mate. Not like he has been convicted of a crime FFS. Knob
-
He would have been a nice placeholder.
-
Just sign a DMF please. 2 would be great. I honestly think that would solve a lot of problems. We have nothing connecting the back and the front of our team. No solidity and assurance in the middle. We need a DMF and another player who can actually drive the ball forward. I think a lot of the problems get solved from that. DMF makes the defences job easier, and a guy who can carry the ball forward gets us up the field quicker/breaks down players and makes life for attackers easier as they get easier shots, or shots against defences that aren't set.

For the bad goal he did give up against Leicester, he saved a bunch. There were at least two or three chances Leicester had afterwards that should have been goals that he stopped. I don't think he is to blame for the first goal against Southampton today either. I understand blame is being throw everywhere at this point, and no, he hasn't been great, but he isn't the problem. He has absolutely no support from his outfield players at the moment.

Just saw the first goal... Nah. You can't blame the keeper for that. Obviously that Leeds one was shocking and the Leicester one should have been saved, but nah, today was a strike that just went in. Cech had far worse showings than today and no one batted an eyelid. Mendy is in a bit of a slump, but not concerned. He has small patches occasionally like this. It is just made worse by the fact the team has been shocking. To Mendy's credit, he made some huge saves in the Leicester game to keep us in it. We can't just highlight the one bad thing he did.
