I disagree. Our lack of attack was in large part due to the middle of the pitch and not being able to build up properly. We have plenty of talent - it is just hard as fans to imagine a turn around after the struggle we had last season. We will be competing for top 4 easily.

You have Santos, Casadei and Ugo as the massive potential guys in the wings as the other foundations if the other two don't work out. All that paired with Enzo who is another foundational piece for the next 10 years. I think the "project" that they are trying to sell players on that are coming here is getting the young pieces in now that will be together for 7-10 years and dominate world football. The new management see Barca, who went through, didn't make too many changes - but had so much time together to gel and become great as the staple or vision.

The amount of times we've missed out on a player and people have acted like our season is done... It just keeps happening, and we come back and win titles. Caceido wasn't on most peoples radar here even at the end of the season. Now he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. 110 million and you guys are complaining we didn't get him... Our team will be fine. Maybe we go back with another bid, but I'm fine if we don't. Either way - both him and Rice are massive overpays. Massive. Jude went for 115. Kane for 100. Better players than Caceido for less. You don't just bend over backwards in business. They wanted 100m at the start and we didn't pay it? Good. He wasn't worth it then, he isn't worth it now. If we end up paying more - whatever - its too much but we live and fight another day either way.

We got Adams for 90 million less. He makes more tackles and more progressive passes on the field. Their aerial and ground success is pretty much identical, as well as interceptions and clearances. I’m just not that fussed… people are acting as if we have lost out on prime Hazard here. I think there will be 2-3 players in the same vein as Caceido sooner than later in the EPL. Pretty confident we have some talent in our team in the middle that will end up in the same breathe.

I just can’t be too upset at missing out on Caceido. There have been far better players move for less. He is 70 percent the player Kante is and going for that much. I dunno. Not fussed. He isn’t a generational type player. Stop gap - or maybe one of the young guys we have come on well this season.

He has one good season and people act like he is the best thing ever at that position. Remember when we spent 100 mil last time on a player that was meant to change it all. We went from 12th to… 12th. We are buying players on the up, some with experience, and guys that are undervalued. Kante, Dave, James, Costa, Silva, Rudiger, etc…. All players that came on the cheaper side or through the academy or that were “second choice” and they won us silverware.
