Fuck City. They are absolute AIDS.

Kudus on...

I don't care what anyone says, they've got far bigger problems than us. Our signings look to have direction and reason. Theirs are all over the place... No semblance of vision IMO.
-
City are the scum of the EPL. Cheats, and on top of all that, their cheating has made the EPL look like the Bundesliga. Embarrassing that most fans come into the season talking about who will be second, and just accepting of it. Hope the c*nts get found out and stripped of all titles.
-
City have a mixture of both. Best players and system.
-
Good players are important, and he was their best. They've got other good players - and are on a confidence high. Hugely important.
-
Our loss looks a little better now. Also - that ball is out. They better call it against Man United.

I have for high level basketball. Never thought about it or impacted me at all, whether it was 0 people watching or a bigger crowd. Depends on the individual and how you process things.

Yes. Our defensive unit has made some mistakes but I don't think we've been setup for success. I'd like to see him in a back 4 with Levi. Even with Badi when he comes back. He and Levi have done a great job at actually trying to get the ball moving out the back while Silva has slowed the game down too much.

We've paid for him to come and play. A 22 year old has room for growth... by playing. At his natural position.

Disasi is top class.

Why?

My point with your post is - the players you listed as great players - half of them weren't so before they came to these clubs. They grew into their roles and as goal scorers after getting there. Jackson was as much of a goal scorer as the likes of a lot of the other players you listed outside of Haaland. I wasn't comparing him to Haaland. Opposite. The players aren't performing not because of the players they are, but because of the tactics and hole we were in as a club tactically, but also as an operation. We have the players and talent to have our striker score 20 a season, and our wingers chip in with double digits. The players need to play and be given time, and formation sink in, and the culture change.
-
Project striker? Jackson was scoring goals at a similar or better rate than just about everyone you mentioned and their move to their club aside from Haaland. Sterling was more consistent and had better numbers than all the guys you listed. It isn't the players. Its the tactics, culture and rebuilding aspect of it. Y'all just want immediate results. It ain't happening. Haaland has missed plenty of sitters and penalties, but the shit doesn't matter when his team can create for him over and over. Y'all see Jackson have one bad miss and its doom and gloom. He and Sterling have been our best players this year.

This right here is the biggest factor for me: Say whatever you want - but less talented teams than us have gone on to do better. For as much as we blame Todd and the new ownership, in a lot of ways they bought a house on fire disguised very well as a perfect new build. A regime like the one we are currently going through is needed. I like many, get frustrated easily as we have now spent the money, and want quick results, but I cool off once given time. We have talent. People keep saying we need one more big sure fire signing. We have all those guys. It doesn't matter that they're young, we have CL and World Cup winning experience on the field all over. We have more experience than most teams. The club is going through a massive culture change. That takes time. These guys do build winners. Look at other teams they've bought. Just have to give them time - which we at Chelsea have never done. It sucks to suck, but we've had it good for so long. And even when we've secretly sucked like what the data suggest above - we have still managed to pull out a CL title. You can't be mad at that. I think a lot of the disappointment at the moment comes from the fact we spent a bunch, and our expectations to make it work right away are in our face. We have a great team. The players and manager just need to get on the same wavelength.

I keep telling people it is a time and continuity thing - as well as having the right tactical setup. I'm so sick of hearing "if we just had this one player he'd transform us"... Been said about Enzo, Caceido, Nkunku now that he is injured, etc. We are talented enough. Caceido is better than Rice. Jackson is as good if not better than Toney. We are fine in terms of talent. It isn't an experience thing either. We have UCL winners on the field all over. World Cup winners. Mudryk has even played in big games in UCL. We are fine. The guys need time to gel, but Poch also needs to play players in their right positions. This playing people out of position shit cost Pep titles and massive games. Coming into a team that was struggling to string together good games and trying to get clever was going to garner even worse results. Keep it simple. 4 atb, get Silva out, play Mudryk on the left, Sterling on the right. Let them play and make mistakes. We don't need to be crutched by a shit setup and chase games.
-
I know a lot of people will point to mistakes so far, as these are amplified in losses, but I've been impressed. When he gets the ball and turns, he makes things happen for us and makes us look dangerous. Looks like he is still playing in to his best form, but he has pleasantly surprised me with how good he is on the ball and also whipping passes around.
-
No we aren't. This board has constantly said about any player they set their eyes on "once we get him, it'll transform our whole team and we'll be completely different". Y'all need to get out of this mindset. These players are good enough. These players are the ones that were transforming games for teams in massive games. It is a gelling and formation/tactics problem. Poch setting up too conservatively and making us chase, and some wrong selections. These players need time and confidence to build. Mudryk and Maduake should be playing more - Chilly shouldn't be at LW - Silva should be on the bench - we should be playing with 3 in midfield, etc. You're not going to tell me this team is worse talent and skill wise than some of the teams we've had over the last 10 years. And we were still finishing top 4 with those. People act like Costa was some surefire superstar when we bought him. He had one season scoring more than 10 goals in La Liga before coming to Chelsea. One. The one we bought him after. Willian was a stud that we yearn for again? His highest scoring season with us was his last one at Chelsea - and we were glad to see the back of him after that according to a lot on here. Look at our starting lineup for the 2021 CL final and I dare you to tell me it is far and away more talented than what we have now. Hint - it isn't. These players need continuity. Poch needs to let players play in their correct positions and let the young prospects play some. Not come on chasing the game.
-
Agreed. They are. One is playing LW, and our most dynamic CB is playing at LB.
-
Misses like that happen. We're chasing the game because we've got pressure to do so because we've been setup incorrectly for the first 60 minutes of the match, and the players are chasing the match after that. These players didn't become bad overnight. It is a tactics and flow situation. Let your players build into games. The reality is, Jackson and Sterling were very much isolated the first 60 minutes. We looked better when Jackson was dropping into midfield for passes, turning and creating by running at players, because Conor was on there doing jack shit - again - not because he is bad - but because he doesn't fit where he is being played. I'm not going to ask John Terry to go sit in the middle of the pitch and try and whip passes around like Enzo - because it wouldn't work. Having tried that for 60 minutes, finally taking him off, putting on Lampard - and expecting the lads to win the match in 30 mins isn't as likely to happen either. Offensive players need rhythm. Chilly ain't doing more than Mudryk or Maduake out there from an attacking perspective, so don't play him there.
-
I'm not a tactician to the level of Jose, Poch or Pep, but I was probably one of the first on here mentioning Silva is a bit of a crutch on our team. He really slows the pace of the game down for us - and doesn't let our team do what they were designed to do. I'll keep saying it, but it reminds me of Ibra at Man United. Great individually in a bubble still, but it negates what we are trying to do. The worst thing about it is, I noticed Colwill slowing the game down a bit in the last match too. Hopefully once Silva is benched they get a sense of urgency back. Push the ball. We're a young and dynamic team.
-
Never pick up again? He is 2 games in... 21 years old. Where do people come up with this?
-
I know a lot will point out the miss and confidence, but I'm not really worried about it. He seems resilient. He is dropping deep into the midfield at times because we lack creativity due to Poch's tactics. To be fair, he was one of our best players last night aside from the blunder.
