Where does Nkunku slot in when he is back?
-
Yep - just to name one. Go see what Aguero did in his third season. Or even his first in La Liga. 5 and 6 goals respectively... Ruud VN another one. I won't bother naming more, but there is plenty. He lacks experience and game sense. It isn't talent. Look at the way he picks up the ball in the middle of the ground and drives us forward a lot of the time. He isn't going to whiff sitters forever. This is a speed of game and game sense thing.

Any word on whether we are interested still in Gnonto? His youtube skills video came across my suggested and looks like a stud. First player I think that actually reminds me of Hazard stylistically. Massive talent.

Has more goals than Saka, Jesus, Nunez, Alvarez, etc. One off Isak... In a growing season where plenty of players are adjusting, learning, etc, maybe we should give him some time? Especially for a player in his 3rd senior season coming into a new league... He has shown flashes of brilliance, and he never stops working. I can tell you a whole bunch of "legends" that started off worse in senior football, and now, are considered exactly that - legends.

I think Ange would have gone more compact, but he knows we are a young side who plays on momentum and confidence. I think he was trying to sneak one past us and then would have dropped deep and compact. It was quite clever, because regardless, with 9 men you're going to have trouble keeping the ball out. Put one past the other team, especially youngsters, and rattle them a bit? Could have made us rush and look silly chasing.
-
The thing is. We have outplayed Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool. We have lost to relegation sides and shit house teams. We have had rotten luck. Our team screams of uber talented youngsters who don't have game sense quite yet. The fact we are competing with the top teams but seem out of ideas against the lower comp is actually a positive. It just screams inexperience, and not that we are a bad team. Becoming flat track bullies is something you do when you become great. We have the other part already, just need to be smarter with age and experience.
-
We will score on the counter with them having 72% possession still.
-
Get Sterling off if he is packing it in. Totally wrong body language ffs.
-
Ange has done amazing with this team. I know we hate Spurs, but this team has a champion spirit. We are playing like brats.
-
At this point any time they fall over they are getting a call.
-
That took forever. They were really trying.
-
I know we are all frustrated here, but ultimately, we have gone into their stadium, outplayed them, forced them to make these mistakes. We have drawn with Liverpool and outplayed them. We have drawn with Arsenal and outplayed them. We are winning against Spurs and outplaying them.
-
Probably off.
-
Why are we rushing and trying to hoof a ball from our half?
-
Interesting. People lauded Mata, who I always thought was overrated, and only performed for us during down years, yet Gallagher gets hate.
-
Nice - another player to add and then blame the board they spent too much money on unproven talent. Perfect.
-
No. We’ve been good. Will break through eventually. Just gotta get these wankers moving a little.
-
I’m so sick of hearing the term perma wrecked on here. Have y’all played high level sport? You don’t just lose it after two consecutive injuries to the same area. He will be fine.

This post has aged like fine wine.

I was at the game yesterday. What an experience! I was super impressed but at the same time bummed we gave it up. We completely outclassed them. I know we can talk moral victories and all that, but they are the best team or second best team out at the moment and we thoroughly outplayed them the majority of that game even with all our injuries. We are a young team and you could sense inexperience and nervousness set in as they got one back. It will happen, but we are clearly making strides - which is important. This team can be very good on it’s day and put it together - which is exactly what a young team is. Cucu, Conor, Enzo and Thiago were standouts for me. Palmer plays some wonderful balls. Mudryk screams a player who once he gets rolling he will become something great. Still looks a little afraid to be himself and try things. Gusto was impressive for a large chunk then had some mistakes. I’ll say again but Conor has really won me over. Added class and poise to his game. Becoming my favourite player. We really should have had about 6 goals from that but - we are getting there. Palmer could have slotted that shot that went just wide. Should have put the interception away. Levi had an open header… Jackson has to hit some shots earlier too. Great game to go to. Super chuffed. No win - but you can see us turning it around. Have patience. We are young and this was a naive performance if to put it no other way.

Aged horribly.

I’m half Serb so very aware haha.
-
Haha Aussie term. It means best on ground. MOTM. 🙂
-
Completely agree. He is consistently BOG for me. He is becoming a Kante lite in that midfield. I’m loving the transformation. He is so composed and tighter on the ball now.

Deadset idiot if you thought Jackson wasn’t good. A small blip doesn’t make a player. We have a gem on our hands. enjoying this game from an Irish pub in Florence. Mwah. Superb.
