  1. I think it would be nice if you gave us your opinion of who you believe Chelsea's first and second string sides would be, it would great to see an outside perspective?
  2. Knowing Chelsea we will drag our feet up until the 31st of August trying to get our top targets. Im not too concerned though, te fact is that despite our poor season (by Chelsea standards) we still have an exceptionally good squad as it is at the moment, so even when we do get a new manager I cant see Chelsea making too many signings anyway. It would of course be great to strengthen the areas we all know we desperately need to (Wings and Creative Midfielder) the problem is that our targets wont come cheap at all
  3. I think it will be necessary to get a new RB if Bosingwa leaves, however I think it should a young player who can grow into the position, someone who is happy to play second fiddle to Ivanovic while he grows into the position. That way we are grooming a RB while Ivanovic gets a lot of game time and stays happy, also allowing Terry, Alex and Luiz plenty of game time too.
  4. Are you seriously asking me what is wrong with failure? And for a man who you claim knows nothing about football, he has won more trophies with his decision making in the since he arrived at Stamford Bridge than any other English side except Man Utd who are the worlds largest club. Who cares how many coaches, it isnt important, winning is important, trophies are important and if it means that we need a new manager every season to achieve this then sobeit.
  5. Wouldnt mind Van Basten, he is young enough with some great ideas will be a fresh start! Villas boas will obviously give the same, im also a big of Rjikaard! Anyone but Pep I think he is very over-rated, cant think of one good signing he has made bar maybe Dani Alves
  6. I cant believe how everyone is so upset with Roman Abramovich over this...I for one im thrilled that we have such a generous owner who does not tolerate failure. I see loads of comments from Arsenal fans on various sites saying how disgusting this is and how can Chelsea ever expect to do well if they keep changing managers, well they have stuck with theirs and its worked out wonderfully for them in recent years! The bottom line is that this season is just not good enough by Chelsea standards, and I hope we never drop those standards!
  7. Van Der Wiel, Ganso and Sanchez would be perfect for me. If Roman is feeling really generous then Neymar would be nice too Other players that interest me would be Hamsik, Sneijder, Modric and Mata A new reserve goalkeeper would be great too, an assistant manager and Guus Hiddink as Sporting Director
  8. I would never even consider letting Drogba go, he is still the best striker on the planet and not even a year ago he was the leagues top scorer, whoever feels he should go simply needs to watch him a few weeks ago at Bolton where you probably scored the goal of the season and ask themselves again whether he should be let go. Anybody who believes that our wages will increase dramatically with the signing of Torres needs to think of how much revenue the club will generate by him being at the club, your wages are all relative to your revenue, out problem is that we we are spending most of our revenue on wages which needs to drop, so we either decrease the wages, or increase the revenue
  9. I would like to see Alexis Sanchez (which everyone seems to agree on), either Hamsik or, my preference, Javier Pastore, and Dani Alves if he doest sign a contract at Barcelona and we can get him for a really price. Still really like the look of Begovic as a back up keeper and he is home grown too. Would be nice to see young talent liek Lukaku, Neymar and Piazon as well but I guess now im just being greedy. I think we can let Hilario, Ferreira, Bosingwa, Zhirkov and maybe Kalou all go
  10. This is for the year ending June 2010, when we still had Ballck, Joey, Deco, Belletti and Carvalho on the books, so things have obviously improved wage wise since then. And although city were spending less last season im sure with the new players they brought in over the summer and winter transfer windows they are right up there now and lets not forget Rooney's huge pay increase. Basically we will be better off next year when the financial results are audited and published in the wages area even with Torres and Luiz. We are obviously ina good financial position or we would not have purchased Torres and Luiz, the board are not stupid and we have cut huge costs since June 2010
  11. As for Ramires, at 23 clearly has plenty of talent (you cant be a shit player and play for Brazil) and from what I hear he is nicknamed the Kenyan or something for his stamina and endurance much like Essien. Would be an excellent buy imo
  12. Great post! I reckon he will be great! I still think he is being played out of position and we be better suited in a more forward role but for me he keeps getting better and better every season in a position that is arguably the most difficult to play in.
  13. Al lyou people who are hating on Benayoun are disgrace, he is a Chelsea player now and deal with it. In my opinion he would do for us than Joe Cole did in last few seasons and if Joey could wear the number then why the fuck cant Benayoun wear it! Fact is that Carlo believes he is a high quality and he knows more than any of us do!
  14. Legally, if have a binding contract as a player does with their club, they are obligated to see out the terms of that contract. So basically if the club decides not to sell then there is not a damn thing the player can do about it. The only reason players who request to be sold generally do end up leaving is because the club doesnt really want to keep a player who is unhappy and therefore they decide to sell.
  15. It seems everday a new player is linked to Man City (for obvious reasons), but it has never really bothered me because to be honest they have never really brought in a truely world class player now have they? i read somewhere yesterday that Chelsea (the insanely massive spenders that we are) have only ever made four signings above £20 million. A surprising fact when to think of all the complaining the other sides do, when in all likelyhood they have spend more on their players! But back to City, of the three they have signed so far, Toure, Silva and Boateng, for this season, they have paid over £20mil for each of them and im not sure any are worth near that amount? Is Toure better than Essien who cost us the same? I dont think so, is Silva a better player than Malouda who we paid half for? How about Boateng or Lescott, better than Alex or Ivanovic? Nope! so basically they are paying seriously over the top for good, but not excellent players. Now lets talk about their wages, Toure on apparently £200k per week, thats a lot of cheese if you ask me...in fact a lot more than lampard or Terry earn yet is he anywhere near as good? Hell no is the answer. Now if they do manage to get into the champions league, which is only a matter of time, have they no idea about te financial laws coming into place? People thought we had problems with our wage bill, imagine theirs? i just cannot see how currently they can ever possibly breakeven? And that being the case they will not be allowed to play in the champions league and then we can laugh at them, and their average, overrated players, overpaid players, again!
  16. Would rather have Schweinsteiger to replace Ballack and Ozil to replace Deco, we have already replace Joe Cole with Yossi (Would have prefered Aguero myself, but oh well )
  17. I agree with you 100%, at Chelsea he wouldnot be forced to play injured and would be able to properly recover before returning to action. At Liverpool they just cannot afford to leave him out when all they are left with upfront is David Ngog
  18. Never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
  19. Why would you not support Benayoun? In my opinion he will be give us more than Joe COle did last season and he will cost less, Ive never heard him complain at Liverpool and so far as I can see he always gave them 100%. He might not be the big name signing we all dream of but he is a good, experienced player and will add depth to our squad. To come out and say that you wont support him and you will lose respect for Carlo before he has even played a game for Chelsea is just ignorant if you ask me.
  20. Actually he only has one year left on his contract, so that means if they hold onto him then they risk losing for free next year, it also means that his price can be bargained.
  21. He isnt worth more than £12 million max
  22. It is disappointing that he joined city, however, he is a predominantly left sided player is he not? and we have lots of those, I do believe, just like Robinho and many others that he realy did want to join Chelsea but the asking price was too high for us and we believe we already have better than him without having to splash out £30 million. I reckon Zhirkov could be better on that left hand side and he only cost us £18 million, so it was probably a sensible decision by Chelsea. Would rather spend the money on other areas that do need strengthening and not not blow £30 million on a squad player who is a bit light weight and sluggish anyway. There are many highly quality players out there and City cant sign them all! So let them spend the stupid on on player who are worth half what they end up paying and when they do end up qualifying for the Champions League they wont be able to play because will are spending more than they make. Then we will see who is laughing.
  23. I agree with a lot of what you are saying, I think it would be fantastic to bring in our youth, it is also great that we have reduced our wage bill and taht some of the older players have left. While I have no doubt about the ability of our youth coming through to perform, I just do not believe that we can simply replace the quality and experience of players like Ballack, Joe Cole, Deco, Belletti and possibly Carvalho and Ferreira with youth players. In fairness most of those names just mentioned were not regular starters last season, with the exception of maybe Ballack, but there is no doubt that without them we have a weaker squad than last year and it is the squad that will win you a league not your first 11. I also agree that signing players like Zhirkov is definately the way to go and i believe he will shine this season for Chelsea. However I still feel that some of the vacancies in the squad now should be filled with on or two new signings and the rest with youth players. Chelsea was missing a certain spark in the midfield, that was meant to be provided by Deco or Joe Cole, and I think Ozil could be that player, as too could be Van Der Vaart. Also a right sided attacking player who can provided something different to Anelka, someone with pace, can cross and dribble and run at defenders (Like Robben used to do so well for us) and to be honest not many players like this come to mind. Aguero seems to be a favourite of Chelsea fans and myself included and would love him to come in. I do also believe that we will miss Ballacks steel and presence in the midfield as well and to me there is only one player suitable to replace him and that would be Schweinsteiger. So in summary I would promote a lot of youth players, probably 4 or 5 (As Carlo has said he will) I would let Carvalho go and possibly Ferreira I would bring in three players, a Central Midfielder, an Attacking Midfielder and a Right sided attacking player: Central Midfielder: Schweinsteiger Attacking Midfielder: Ozil Right Front Man: Aguero Highly unlikely that will happen, but I can dream cant I? Your point on Big signings coming in and having to be starters, I agree that, that does happen, however with the 3 above mentioned players, two of them are 21 years old which means we can ease them into first team action and still develop their games, only Schweinsteiger would start most games. To me this would give us the most complete squad we have ever had, and bring down the average age, and incorporate our youth, and make the fans happy, and hopefully win us some silver too.
  24. Im not sure I agree, I do think he would consider Chelsea, we have to remember that while the world cup is still on, its very difficult for clubs to sort out transfers and contracts and deal with agents while the players are focusing soley on the world cup for their countries. So as soon as it is over, they players will speak with their agents and their clubs about their futures. Perhaps then we will some players coming in.
  25. Mate what are you on about? You are comparing Milner, who is a midfielder, to four of our defenders? I do agree that because he is English he is all of a sudden twice the player just because decent English players are few and far between these days.
