  1. Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria, Kaka, Modric, Benzema, Higuain, Callejon, Morata - How many more attcking players do you need? Im not saying he is a bad signing at all, he is a fantastic player, what I am saying is that clearly Madrid do not have an issue scoring goals. They concede too many. Typical Madrid. Just like when they thought they didnt need Makelele, had all the worlds best attacking players but couldnt defend. Ive watched Madrid play a lot, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them going forward. So why fix what aint broken?
  2. With stats like that its pretty obvious that they did not win anything because they concede too many goals.
  3. Real Madrid league stats 2012 - 2013 season: Goals Scored: 103 Goals Conceded: 42 Yes clearly they need more attacking players. Get your facts straight before you tell me that I dont have a clue.
  4. Bottom line is that Cavani is class and will improve our side, is he worth 50 million who knows, but again its not our money its Roman's so why are we complaining. Most clubs could only ever dream of this happening.
  5. Typical Madrid really, just keep buying attacking players when they have no need. Hope we dont go down that road, id rather have a world class defence, clean sheets win leagues
  6. Look again I fully agree with everything you are saying. Jose is the key to an already fantastic, talented squad. Would I prefer 50 million to be spent in other areas? Absolutely. If it were me id snap up Subotic and Xabi Alonso (which I believe would fix all our problems), for 2 thirds of that money. Do we need another striker? Well...yes if Torres leaves and Ba goes on loan. Do we need a 50 million pound striker when we have Lukaku? Probably not. However, we are a rich club, and is is usually the case with rich people, why buy a VW to dive around in when you can have a Ferrari. They both pretty much will do the same job, the one is just more appealing while it does it. That is the reality for us, so hey I say lets just enjoy it while we can.
  7. Again like I said, its about mixing the old with the new. The guys in the boardroom would have thought of every angle before going ahead with something like this. Im sure there is a very specific plan to incorporate both Cavani and Lukaku, if Cavani in fact does join. If we are to challemge for titles across the board, we will need more than 1 world class striker, so im sure both will play their part. I suppose my question to you would be, would this signing make more sense to you if it means Torres is leaving? I agree with an earlier comment you made, that there are other areas of the squad that need desperate attention, but again I think that just because we splash out big for Cavani, doesnt mean those other areas (Centre back and Defensive Midfield) wont be addressed as they need to. We very fortunate as Chelsea fans with the incredible talent that gets brought in to the club, but sometimes (im not saying you) we as Chelsea fans get a bit ungrateful like spoilt rich kids and I can see how a lot of fans would like us to steer away from some big money signings because of that.
  8. And that is fair enough, I just think in the modern era of football, Chelsea si doing a phenominal job mixing that same notion that you have mentyioned with the occasional big signing. I do genuinly believe that Lukaku will be given every chance to prove himself in this season to come. I also believe that Torres will be sold. I guess all we really want is a winning team with its own 'Chelsea" identity, and I really do believe that is what we have.
  9. This club is a business, and as such will run as one. You want long term finincial sustainability, guess what?...selling shirts is part of that. As is growing a fan base who will purchase those shirts among other things. You say you care about this club, but when the club invests in itself to impove the playing staff you have a problem with it? Every season this club spends a lot of money, but it also makes a lot of money...and every year the losses come down. I sometimes just think that there really is no pleasing some people.
  10. I agree with you fully. All of a sudden everyone is an accountant. I say we let the people who just got ua a 300 million pound shirt deal continue doing what they do best. They clearly fully understand FFP a bit better than most on this forum. Its great to have talent and I see why people would want us to develop the youngsters we have brought in. But at the end of the day, all that matters in football is winning titles. To do that we need balance, youth and experience.
  11. Haven't done this for a while but here goes: In: We back up keeper (Homegrown would be a bonus) Centre Back - Subotic Defensive Midfielder - Xabi Alonso (Love him or not, the guy is world class) Winger/Striker - Schurrle (Already sorted) Striker - Cavani Van Ginkel would be nice too Out: Torres Ba (Loan) Mikel Romeu (Loan Marin Let me know what you guys think
  12. I dont understand why there are those who are upset about Chelsea Football Club spending 50 odd million pounds on a player. It is not your money, why do you care? Everyone wanted Jose, we got Jose, we trust Jose, it is clearly his decision, so let it be. For the record, I think Cavani is world class and would be very grateful to see him play up front for my beloved Chelsea.
  13. Easy Mourinho, just because I dont play football manager religiously, does not make me ignorant. Ive been watching football for 20 years and this is the first time ive heard of it. And correct me if im wrong but it is just simply a central midfielder who does what a central midfielder is supposed to do which is link play between the defence and attack is it not?
  14. What the fuck is a 'double pivot' role? Guys are just making stuff up, what ever happen to plain old midfielder?
  15. Awesome work by the board, still think we could get could get a few more sponsors, a courier company perhaps and a cellular partner. Could even look at have a similar arrangement that Man Utd have where they have a sponsor on their training kits separate too their main shirt sponsor
  16. Well firstly I'd sell one of Essien or Meireles, also send McEachran on loan again. I'd play Ramires as one of a front three behind Torres, which doesn't leave much in the middle. So in all honesty M'Vila would have plenty of playing time and would cost less than Modric, gies him the chance to make the position his own
  17. Yann M'Vila would be perfect for me, he is young, will add depth and can be rotated with Mikel and Lampard
  18. We would have to sign one, cant see anyone being converted into one successfully. Ive already mentioned M'Vila, Chiek Tiote i think could work, Javi Martinez maybe (played a lot at CB this season though), maybe Modric but im not convinced he is the right man
  19. Again I fully agree, which is why again for me he needs to be in that advanced right midfield position, and if Hulk is signed, that kind of eliminates that option for him. I think he can make that position his own which is why I think signing Hulk is an unnecessary luxury, although his ability to play upfront should Torres get injured could prove vital, but perhaps we would be better off signing a back up striker instead and not necessarily a big name. To have all the skill and trickery of Mata and Hazard and then to compliment that with the raw pace, running ability and technique of Ramires I think would work well, especially if there is great distribution coming from deeper.
  20. While I do agree with you, I just think that we have enormous talent in advanced roles in the midfield and awesome defenders to go with that. If we are going to play with a 4-2-3-1 formation which most will agree is probably the best way to go, I just think we are lacking a bit of class with those two sitting in front of the defence, a player like Xabi Alonso, who can read the game well, break up play but also quickly distribute accurate passes and attacks. Now I dont think for a second that we will even consider Alonso, but maybe someone like Yann M'Vila for me would make a huge difference. Staying on topic with this thread though, I dont think Ramires is the man to fill that particular void.
  21. That would make the most sense, probably be confirmed on Monday or Tuesday I reckon
  22. For me he has shown that his best position is in that advanced right midfield role next to Mata, where he can really use his pace to run at defenders and counter attack, plus he can track back to help out defend. I dont think HUlk is a necessary signing if im honest, we still have Sturridge who can play on the right if we need him to. I think if we can get a right back who can put in quality crosses, it would compliment Ramires well on the right side. Personally I think we are short a world class passer in the midfield who can be rotated with Lampard, Mikel and Meireles I guess (Shows how little depth we have there).
  23. Considered getting one but I'll stick with my Chelsea lion, my tattoos Remind me of certain things in life, I don't think I will ever forget the night we won the Champions League
  24. I don't think the club will let both Malouda and Kalou leave this summer, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him offered a new contract
