I think he has world class potential still. Jumping the gun? I don't know, but what I've seen from him has been very promising. Maybe the standards we are used to is low? Maybe, but if I were a scout I'd tell the higher-ups to keep hold of this guy. He has this burning desire to succeed, I can see that whenever he plays, gives it his all all the time. As we are losing Luiz and Cahill is going down the hill, I think he will play a massive role for us in the years to come. I'll make a prediction that he'll soon have 2-3 seasons where he will be considered among the best.

My stance hasn't changed, I'd keep him as a squad player but nothing more. It's not unusual for him to have a spurt of 8-9/10 performances and then revert to prolonged mediocrity.

There was this one play where he demonstrated immense strength by holding onto the ball and turning while being pulled and hassled by a bigger Barca player, to then play a perfect through ball to Willian to kickstart a very dangerous counter that Willi wasted. In the first half he also broke into the box dribbling through two players and giving 2 dangerous balls in quick succession. He did all he could in a game like this and in a system where he was supposed to be a decoy and the instigator.
