  1. Cut the goalscorer thing, pointless. Points for correct result and bonus points for correct score.
  2. I prefer a left-footed player there with some attacking prowess and pace, so Ash any day for me. Especially considering the rest of the team is strong enough defensively that Azpi's defensive expertise won't be that needed. Cole was once pretty much unanimously considered the best LB in the world, Azpi never reached such heights. But ain't it nice to have such options I would be happy with either anyway.
  3. Nice! 1. I think there is no point. If there is a topic for every match and also for every group, then one of them will be inactive as the forum in general is not that active. In this case I think keeping discussions concentrated to as few threads as possible is best. Discussing group stage matches in respective group threads is sufficient imo... and will also avoid cluttering the forum with threads that have very few posts, if any. Having match threads in KO/finals is enough. 2. No. Same reasoning, the topics (especially for weaker nations) will be inactive and will only contribute to cluttering the forum's database. Some nations already have threads afaik, do we ever see them? No, abandoned. 3. I would probably participate provided it will not be too complicated.
  4. It's been mentioned and complained about a lot. The reason is simple - he had a boner for declining Ivanovic because of his height so he was undroppable, as was Azpi at LB because he's a better defender. Filipe's attacking prowess meant squat to him.
  5. I remember being linked to him in January before pool scooped him up, but could have easily been paper bullshit. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  6. I think the days of Luiz and Cahill are or will be numbered soon. In a back 4 Azpi cannot be considered a CB, so that leaves us with only Christensen, Rüdiger and Zouma looking ahead, with Zouma's future being in doubt. That's incredibly weak tbh, somebody like Toby would help a great deal. Remember, we still pursued Van Dijk despite having all those defenders. We are also being linked to Koulibaly again, so there is a good chance the club will go for a CB.
  7. Conflicting reports, how can they demand 44m if his release clause is 25m? Are there release clauses in England at all? I'm inclined to believe the Dutch report more, if Mirror were right then we'd have heard about somebody activating that clause by now.
  8. Ace team if you change Carvalho for Ivan. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I think I would prefer prime Ivan over Azpi at RB. Azpi hasn't really played RB for us, he has excelled mainly at LB and RCB.
  9. I very much doubt he thinks that more money=more results. It has always been the individual transactions we made, not money. Letting go of Matic to a rival without a ready-made replacement (who wouldn't be pissed?); missing out on Lukaku to those same rivals; failing to sign a LWB; missing out on Oxlade-Chamberlain; panic buying duds for big money near deadline day (Zap, Drinks). Also the habit of buying injured players that will not help here and now (Drinks, Baka, Barkley, Emerson). Our starting 11 was weakened while rivals strengthened their starting line-ups (Man United getting stronger directly due to our fuck ups). It was just an absolute clusterfuck. I understand him completely, the board consists of dumbasses, but I said it last year already that his public comments casting doubt over the squad will not do any good.
  10. Exactly. I admire Conte, but I'm pretty sure his behaviour is part of a reason why we're out of top 4 atm.
  11. The Arsenal away game alone was bad enough It was bad, but would be understandable if it were an isolated case. It was not, therefore I don't blame anybody but him. Hazard has a stronger case of the team not playing to his strengths.
  12. You should watch him miss sitters, fall down at every chance and collect dumb cards again, nothing to do with the squad not being supportive enough.
  13. Lol, fuck 3-4-3. We play this formation only because our mf sucks balls. Classic 4-3-3 so Lampard can wreak havoc. With this midfield we can play 2-3-5 if we wanted to.
  14. Nah Kante and Maka is overkill, we need some POWAH! Lampard, Essien, Kante would be the best, unstoppable.
  15. That's why I love Azpi - he cares.
  16. I've always wondered why I sometimes get an e-mail that somebody tried to reset my password on facebook. Luckily I have 2-step verification so they get no luck. Happened to anybody else? It happens like once a month. However once somebody from Malaysian IP logged into my instagram which is connected to facebook and I don't have any extra security there. Very much doubt my computer is compromised, I pay great attention to security, so this has got me suspicious.
  17. I don't get it, limited. Kante is world class at what he does, so is Messi as comparison. Ask Messi to do Kante's work, he becomes the worst player on the pitch. Ask Kante to play creative attacker and he becomes an eyesore. Ergo both have limitations at what they can do. Being limited does not equal not being world class or however you want to call, in the end it means among the best in the world. Like if he is among top 10 in all top leagues in his position, it is 'world class'. Somewhy it seems only attackers escape extra responsibilities and get branded the best by simply scoring goals, doesn't matter if they can't or don't want to do other work for the team (Ronaldo? Özil?). But when a defender or defensive mid has limitations going forward, they are disregarded by some. Those who don't agree, I challenge them to name 10 players better in Kante's role, go! Or if you get stuck, name 5. I personally would struggle naming even 1 since last season when he wasn't even that good with the ball yet.
  18. Who called you that? They are world class. If they aren't, then who is? Only Messi and Ronaldo?
  19. "In the second season, I have got to play in the Champions League and we are going again to finish in the top four. ..." That's right, the man of few words has spoken.
  20. Think he discarded them because they either 1) were not good enough defensively, 2) not developed enough and he failed to realize the potential. Although I see your point, Mourinho can play only with ready-made stars in a team full of leaders. If he has to develop or build it himself, he will get exposed. He has no patience to develop players, they need to have a Drogba/Zanetti character out of box to thrive under him.
  21. For me the situations of Morata and Baka aren't even close. Morata is miles ahead as a footballer even with low confidence. Baka with low confidence is a random bum from the street occupying space. I haven't lost faith in Morata, he has shown he has the technical tools, it's his mental side that needs work.
  22. Watching him you can't really play the "EPL is tougher" card anymore. The league has no influence when he misplaces the simplest passes, fails to control the ball, misses headers or collects stupid yellows. All purely technical deficincies, not a matter of adaptation to the league or anything. That's why i have little to no faith that he will ever justify signing for us.
  23. Signs of impending meltdown are looming, it won't be long. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  24. His development in last 2 years has been immense. He is a much more complete player now.
