  1. "Frank Lampard is a monster of a footballer to play alongside and the prospect of that is incredible." Reportedly he talked to AVB, so that basically means that Lampard will be a regular this season.
  2. that looks completely random lol
  3. Mata would have to have a really.... I mean HUMONGOUSLY low self-esteem, if he had chosen to wreck his career going from Valencia to fucking Tittyham Hotsperms.. Levy would have made him sign a 10 year contract and retire with them on gunpoint alongside an already suicidal Modric.
  4. He is an exciting player alright... Can't wait to see him in action again. He has scored against Man United, that makes him a legend already
  5. Talking about getting ahead of time  I think Josh is being heavily overestimated among Chelsea fans lol
  6. they've been floating around here, keep your eyes open in relevant topics
  7. Silva... the spanish trio of Torres, Mata and Silva would destroy and piss on everybody. Modric comes close second. Rooney would also be class, but he's a cunt.
  8. Well, we won't know if Josh would have done better, will we? AVB might have shown faith in Lamps in hope that he would gain confidence and perform. We don't know what's going on in the training ground or in AVB's head. Modric might be the more permanent replacement for Lampard, because it would be too soon for Josh to start playing every game at 18 I believe.. we don't know yet.
  9. We have had so many managers coming in and out and everyone doing their own assessment on the squad. If we had some stability, there might have been breakthroughs already... but now every manager opts to start safely so not to disappoint fans and his bosses, and they don't know the academy through and through... with teams like Arsenal and ManU they have a manager they trust in and they have had time to work out their plans and bring them to life in time. With Barca the same, their manager was promoted from their youth team I believe. If we don't have 7 new managers by 2016 we might see a change in our youth policy sooner. I don't believe AVB feels safe yet, how could you on one of the most unstable jobs in world football? If he gets the backing of the board, he might feel encouraged to take more risks... we don't know YET if he's planning to play it safe in his first season.. if he was to experiment and not win any titles, he can have a boot up his ass as quickly as Carlo. Since Roman's arrival we have never put much emphasis on bringing up our own players, but rather patch the team by splashing the cash. This summer's signings hint some change in club's policy, and hopefully it is to show faith in AVB's long-term appointment.
  10. things work differently in barca... how many thought bringing in Kalou would block Stoch? okay maybe back then there were no expectations on him, but it still turned out we have Kalou minus Stoch
  11. The problem is Lampard himself said that he has no trouble with it until he's permitted to make runs into the box. I don't think you can deny him his trademark move, which is arriving into the box at the right time.
  12. His assist stats are immense... I think we can forget about Malouda's 3,500 mile shots at defenders and expect decent crosses and passes from now on
  13. I agree. I think Lampard has the record on his name with 100 (?) consecutive games, if not more.. then he had 1 game break (I think) and continued his run. We got more out of him than we could have asked, and he still performed on the highest level for years... He never got a break. The team was so used to having him dictate the play that without him we were somewhat clueless and chaotic - that mental factor could still be around today, not sure. At 33 after a major injury it is only natural for his form to dip considerably... you could say it was his breaking point after being overused. There is a thing called "professional burnout" (or smth), that's when your fatigue sets in, and it applies to every profession in the world. I don't blame Lampard in anything, it's not his fault he never got a deserved break and he got constantly abused by outside fans ... Around the world he's overlooked but in Chelsea he'll always be a legend and if this season for him turns out to be average, then I won't blame him, but the manager who refuses to acknowledge that he's given all he's got and still waits for miracles... No doubt he still has a lot to offer, and maybe he will blow us away and bag in another 20... who knows If that were to really happen, I will call him a superhuman.
  14. It's hard for me to find it funny because I can actually understand what they're saying
  15. It's possible if we don't get a creative midfielder (Modric), otherwise I can't see that happening. We would have to play City's system, where Mata is like Silva and we have 2 deep midfielders... But I would like to see 4-2-3-1 at one point with Modric and Mikel playing deep and Mata being the "trequartista", although who would you put on left wing.. Malouda?
  16. I don't know if this has been posted before, but anyway... Check out that skill beginning at 1:10
  17. I don't think Lampard or Gerrard should play anymore. Gary Neville recently wrote in his book that England fucked up with their coaches big time... He said Glenn Hoddle used to be a wack job, he said it was that bad under Kevin Keegan that it was a relief to be out injured.. and that Eriksson and McClaren made some wrong decisions and weren't up to the job.
  18. No, just no... Norwich are a much weaker side, granted, but not one team in EPL can be underestimated. Playing unproven centre backs can backfire very easily. I would much rather Luiz get a chance if he is fit, if not, then Ivanovic. Magnay didn't even get into the pre-season squad if I'm not mistaken. And I understand he's been through rough time of injuries. I think he's going to be released by the club at the end of his contract.
  19. 50-70£ for a ticket? Harsh... 2-3 games and I'm pretty much bankrupt. Although naturally wages in England are much better than here, I doubt any working class estonian could afford a single game.. if so, only as a luxury and once every half a year or so. Average wage here is ~300-400 pounds a month (not quite sure). It really paints a picture as to why things are like they are. If I could set my foot inside SB once in my life, I'd scream my lungs out, as it would be an opportunity of lifetime to cheer for my team and not slag them off.. I can do that behind the computer Everyone of you who goes to games, understand that it's a dream for many people around the world and that it's better to show your appreciation rather than boo. Negativity in the stands creates negativity on the pitch as well.
  20. All managers lie, the ones with excellent PR skills say the things others want to hear. We all know he's not going to drop Terry, Cole and Cech for example, when they suck. Maybe the same with Lampard, don't know yet with only 2 games in. If against Norwich there won't be any surprises in the line-up, then that will have my alarm bells ringing.
  21. Yuri was a replacement more than anything for Cole and Malouda... I expect Mata to cement the LWF position straight away and build a good understanding with others, Žirkov never got that chance. Hopefully he stays injury-free.
