He had one good game and you're already a fanboy? Did you forget Rajkovic? Surely he will break through one day. Terry, Alex, Ivan and Luiz can do the job while Bruma, Chalobah, Kalas and Rajkovic gain experience. I mean if you have promising defenders like that I wouldn't give up on them. Vermaelen might be good for short-term success, but in long-term I want us to develop our own players, and we have some very promising youngsters in youth department... they deserve a chance in the future. I can't see Chels signing Vermaelen ever, it sounds like fantasy.

I don't get where people take the he's a bad passer thing. Everybody has a shit pass once in a while, but overall I think his passing is decent and some have impressed me over the years. A very cool-headed holding midfielder, not the one who used to get carded almost every game

Why is it hard to believe somebody thinks Mata is better than Silva? Silva is good and has proven himself in EPL, but he is far from untouchable in terms of skill. The only way to really compare those two is when they start playing in the same league (I don't follow Spanish league, so I can't compare from the time they played in Valencia)... But yeah, I like Silva too, but I don't think comparing him to Mata is anywhere near "delusional". Mata would probably play a different role for us too as a winger, while Silva is their playmaker more than anything.

Constant knee injuries? I don't know anything about this player, but we had Robben and sold him for the same reason... I wouldn't want a player who is made of glass.
