  1. Our transfer links are getting more bizarre every day.
  2. Have a feeling he won't fail so badly over there (and even him failing means winning titles along the way). He treated Chelsea as his own, he was worshipped here and therefore was above everybody else, he got overly arrogant and confident and spinned out of control as a result. At United I think he will be more careful with everything he does or says and he knows he will have to win everybody over from scratch, including the fans and the ones in the board against his appointment. He will have learned from his mistakes (hopefully not) and will try to cater to their wishes. Being in the same city with Guardiola will give him a kick up his butt for sure. I have a feeling this is what will happen, I hope not of course.
  3. Yep, he is HG (http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2015-16/sep/030915-2015-2016-premier-league-squads-announced.html) As you can see from the link, we desperately need HG players who are not just squad sheet fillers. Romelu would be ideal for that. In fairness he has quite a few advantages over Costa and I would take him if it weren't for that ridiculous quoted price. He will not be cheap considering he's at Everton and is home grown, so I'd rather we focus our financial power elsewhere and keep Costa for now.
  4. Good, it will be that much sweeter beating United next few seasons.
  5. What about Rooney in midfield where he's been playing recently?
  6. Nah, we usually do good with players of this type. It's the attacking flair players that stagnate, regress or flat out flop at our place and I agree, something is not right when it comes to not only coaching, but developing attacking players at Cobham. Too much focus on physical and defensive part of the game perhaps?
  7. For what? We had him at his peak, we're past that now and need to look forward not back.
  8. He can sign his loverboys Ivanovic and Oscar all day long. Hell I'd buy them back so we could sell them again.
  9. He will be our marquee signing of the summer.
  10. Yeah, I have no qualms with the team. Silent, doing what they must, just as it should be. Good work and keep it up.
  11. Wenger is a dinosaur, he has no idea how to win games that matter.
  12. Are you using any alternative? I might be interested, though having been a member on here for 10 years is something I would not like to throw away lightly Btw are you implying that Jim is a cock?
  13. Actually thinking about it, I myself just recently stepped down as moderator of one (big) forum for the same reasons. The call for professionalism was uncalled for on my part, I apologize, I used to have that shit laid down on me on quite regular basis. Hell recently I even appeared in a newspaper (anonymously) being subtly criticized for some of my decisions on that site, that being one of the reasons I decided to call quits because lots of prejudice and know-it-all from unrelated people was involved and everything was being blown out of proportion. So yeah, I wasn't trying to imply that Spike didn't act on what he thought was best, I'm sure he did, I was just trying to provide constructive criticism on something I didn't agree with, something which I almost never received. Bottom line is if you can't take criticism or questions being asked in stride, then being a mod/admin on a popular internet forum is definitely not for you, that is the hard truth I found out myself in that ungrateful position.
  14. Agreed with both. Okay Justin was a bit of an a'hole and probably deserved the boot in the end. But what irks me is that some of those members got banned very quickly, while Spike is now talking about double standards due to Term's warning count, but for example zolayes was the biggest condescending cock and provocator of all time, yet it took years for the staff to do anything about it (probably due to him being a donator, so thank you Jason for finally doing what needed to be done). Many, including Sloth you mentioned, got banned due to acting on his provocations, yet zolayes himself emerged unscathed every single fucking time. If every member had acted like him, this place would be a cesspit. There are double standards, there is no doubt about that. Like referees in football, staff here should agree to some kind of consistency in making decisions.
  15. In the light of that explanation it's still weird as fuck that you decided to do it now instead of, say, the moment you became mod/admin. It doesn't add up if you really felt that way since the beginning. I also see no practical value in banning him so far in retrospect, because for a long time he has been much mellower and didn't cause any trouble, meaning he had matured and learned from his mistakes. I just don't see any point in such retrospective bannings if it's the forum's well-being you are so concerned about, because in the present he wasn't a problem anymore. The past has long gone. In my opinion this kind of behaviour is unprofessional.
  16. What I mean is what particularly recently made you make this decision? I'm well aware of his past and his tendency for controversy and whatnot, but so far nobody did anything about it, so for me it's weird that all of a sudden you decide to ban him. But if he recently breached the rules somehow, then I can't have any complaints. I'm just asking for concrete reasons (provided you haven't deleted the offending posts), not what he did in yesteryear when staff clearly didn't see a reason to kick him out permanently. Also what bad did he say in the kits thread? I've kept an eye on that thread and he was just saying that Nike and Adidas are elite brands for elite clubs, or did I miss something?
  17. Can you point out any posts or other reasons why he got the banned?
  18. Term X.. was it necessary to ban him permanently?
  19. Nah man, that pic of me is ace! Squatting like a pro...
  20. Excited. Adidas was becoming boring. Plus I don't think I own anything from Adidas, however I do own a pair of Nike shoes and a sweat suit, both are great. Adidas is strongly associated with low life scum (chavs) here in the eastern block Better logo, better name, more money, probably better kit designs, possibly more exposure and promotion. Good deal!
  21. Keeping a player you already had is in no shape or form a sign of rebuilding. You can say that again once we make our first move in the market.
