People say he did a great job at Portsmouth. Okay, he got them to the cup final, but even if they didn't get deducted 9 points they'd still have gone down!

Ketchup. There's been no official word on the away kits at all.

Amazing professional, great player and what a career!

Right, you've had long enough I'm gonna stick the polls up tomorrow

Villa have rejected City's bid probably because of their rivalry moreso than anything else; they are both trying to break into the Big Four monopoly.

welcome back mate

It would probably be called something like Samsung Stamford Bridge officially. UEFA and FIFA refuse to call stadiums by their commercial names - for example, for Champions League matches the Emirates is called the Ashburton Grove Stadium. It would therefore officially still be colloquially known as Stamford Bridge. I'd welcome it only if it meant tickets prices were reduced.

cfc-meleady has come up with the idea of having a Prediction League tournament for the World Cup. I will run the competition, which will run by extremely similar rules to the current competition. Just go the Prediction League forum to see the rules, and the first set of predictions will be up soon.

Don't want/need him.
-
Just changed the maths a bit A line of regression shows he'll easily break the barrier but we can't expect him to keep getting better... he's bound to not score 20 goals in a season soon enough!

The goalkeepers and Christophe are all really, really close and I know Zhirkov and Ivan have spent a lot of time together because Ivan is teaching him English.

Drogba isn't leaving. Why am I so sure? He only recently stated he is more than willing to see out his contract.

He was singing Nel blu dipinto di blu, also known as Volare. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeRJoa4Jdhc The bit he was singing starts about 1:38 on this: -
He's on 157. If you consider his goal in the Community Shield, which I do.

Terry did the ugly fuck a favour. And don't get me started on that ponytail. Fucking ponce.
-
Was always going to happen. Best of luck to him in getting the Hammers relegated.

Let's be fair here. Firstly, I'm not the only person on this forum who was at Stamford Bridge singing 'You can stick your Ancelotti up your arse,' and calling for Hiddink to stay. And I'm not the only person on this forum who had reservations when we won one in SEVEN games in December, a run which started with defeat in the Carling Cup and then at Manchester City. Football supporters are fickle at the best of times. Remember the people who booed Drogba? He showed them to be idiots. Remember when people called Malouda shit because they didn't have the patience for him to gel? He showed them to be idiots. Ancelotti's proved the 41,000 people inside Stamford Bridge telling Roman not to strike a deal with him all to be idiots. And I, for one, am glad he has. Hindsight is one concept I can't fucking stand. Opinions change, and can be made to look very, very foolish. It's all rosy in the Chelsea garden at the minute; let's not get pricked by any thorns.

After last season's heartbreaker, I'm not... but that wasn't his fault in all fairness. Great goal by a great player.

Matic, Bruma, Stoch and Kakuta have really, really exciting futures and we'd be ridiculous not to give them more time on the pitch next season. I really hope that for early rounds of the FA Cup/Carling Cup and the CL group stages (if we qualify early), we need to be playing a mixture of first team players and youngsters. Turnbull Ferreira, Bruma, Terry, Zhirkov Essien, Matic Kakuta Stoch, Anelka, Kalou Maybe not necessarily those players, but certainly a mix of youth and experience is needed.

Unsurprising. I never fully trusted Kenyon but I appreciated his work as chief executive and I know he certainly has helped the club generate a lot of money to remove the burden of debt. We're almost virtually debt-free if Bruce Buck is to be believed.

I'll close this one then -
I think he can break the 202 record. I think he certainly can better Kerry Dixon's 193 goals. He's only 37 off that now, and two more 20-goal seasons will see him eclipse that. A third can underline his status as our greatest ever player.

Aston Villa have turned down Manchester City's £20m bid for their England international James Milner. "We have received an offer from Manchester City for James Milner and this has been firmly rejected," said a Villa spokesman late on Wednesday. "We plan to sit down with James and his representative after the World Cup to agree a new long-term deal and this remains our position." The 24-year-old midfielder was recently named PFA Young Player of the Year. Leeds-born Milner, who joined Villa from Newcastle for £12m in 2008, is halfway through a four-year deal. He is currently with Fabio Capello's initial 30-man England squad at their training camp near Salzburg, Austria. Villa owner Randy Lerner said last week the club will do "everything" in their power to ensure Milner stays. Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with Milner, though United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has talked of this summer's transfer market as being "very difficult". Villa have secured Europa League football for next season having finished sixth in the Premier League and will not want to lose another influential midfielder to City following the departure of Gareth Barry for £12m last season. City, funded by the deep pockets of Abu Dhabi-based owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are close to signing Germany international defender Jerome Boateng from Hamburg for £11m. More signings are expected as City push for a coveted Champions League spot having just missed out to Tottenham this season. Milner has been in a rich vein of form this season, helping Villa finish sixth in the Premier League and reach Wembley twice for the Carling Cup final and FA Cup semi-finals, since O'Neill switched him from wide midfield to a more central position. He has also become a regular in the England squad under Capello, and is widely tipped to be part of the final 23-man squad for the World Cup in South Africa starting on 11 June. Earlier this year, Capello described Milner as England's "most-improved" player, adding: "James Milner is a fantastic player. He is intelligent on the pitch. He passes the ball well. He creates goals and scores himself. "He is a lot like Frank Lampard, younger, but with great energy." In June 2009, another high-profile English midfielder, Gareth Barry, made the move from Villa to City, in a five-year deal that netted the west Midlands club £12m. Click for source.
