Courtois might make great saves, but if he is going to punch crosses he should be catching straight into his own box, those great saves are made irrelevant. No point doing the difficult thing if you can't do the simple things.

Offensive to Mikel.

One win and five draws (8 points from 24 games) is absolutely horrific.

Begovic has been superior to him this season, absolutely no doubt about it in my eyes. And Begovic played when we were absolutely hopeless and looked like conceding every time the opposition came forward. Begovic has played less games yet kept more clean sheets and has a "better" concession rate. Statistics don't tell you everything but you can count on one hand the amount of costly errors Begovic has committed this season - the same does not apply for Courtois, who is taking his place for granted, simple as. VERY shaky. Today's error was as bad as that "save" in stoppage time at Norwich where, instead of catching the ball, he pushes it straight into the six yard box, and, but for Cahill's braveness, we'd surely have conceded an equaliser. He's shocking at the minute.

We need to score at least 3 because they'll definitely score.

Positives: Traore is a SERIOUS talent. Needs to be given a major run in the side. Willian was excellent, some questionable decision-making but by far our most inventive player. 40 points! At least we're not getting relegated. Negatives: Courtois is terrible at the minute and should be dropped immediately, he is making some very, very poor mistakes on a consistent basis. Matic and Oscar need to be sold in the next window, they are stealing a living. Remy is ABYSMAL. If Falcao is fit, he should be ahead of him in the pecking order. We look useless in the centre without Cesc. Guus' substitutions were HORRIBLE and that, along with shocking officiating, has cost us two points which now means our chances of UCL qualification are officially OVER, and even finishing 5th/6th for the Europa League looks difficult - we're now 7 points behind United, who have a game in hand on us, too.

Take the language barrier into account, as you say, I think he is saying that despite his poor form he is still happy at the club. I'd be, too, if I was churning out sub-par performances and not being made to show any accountability for it. Even the most ardent Hazard fan would find it difficult to argue he's been given pretty much a free ride in terms of criticism, in comparison to the flack Ivanovic, Costa, and Cesc have picked up at the various times. The difference being that, right now, Ivanovic, Costa, and Cesc are probably our best performers at present and Hazard has still yet to register a single Premier League goal.

Courtois Azpi - Cahill - Ivan - Kenedy Mikel - RLC Traore - Oscar - Willian Remy

We'll see more of this than most of you expect, when we're in the EL group stages next season.
-
Give it to Steve Holland, give him £200 million, and watch him whip, and watch him nae-nae.

Wow, people think I was actually being serious. There isn't even a competition.

FACT: every time Bertrand Traore has scored for Chelsea, he's scored for Chelsea. Boom. Read it and weap. P.S. that header was even better than Torres' 20-yard bullet header vs Villa (which was better than Drogba's Bayern goal, but no-one likes to admit it):
-
Two assists and a goal should be a MASSIVE boost for him. I really, really hope he does turn it around.
-
Since José went, he's been the best CM in European football.
-
If Mourinho was still here, we'd be in the bottom three and Scunthorpe would have dumped us out of the cup. It is abundantly clear, in my eyes at least, that the players had a problem with Mourinho. How else do you explain the sudden transformation? 7 wins, 6 draws and only one defeat in 14 games is unrecognisable to the form we showed under Jose, let alone the style of play being totally different.

This was always going to be a tough game to "win", and by that, I don't mean achieve victory. It was always going to be a case of "it was only their kids" - unless we beat them convincingly, which we did. The old saying goes you can only beat whatever team is put out against you, and we did that with aplomb. 7 wins, 6 draws, and 1 defeat since Hiddink came in doesn't sound like world-class form, but in the context of this league season, and with regards to how abysmally poor we've been for much of the season, that is as good as six/seven wins on the bounce in any "ordinary" season.

This game is more important than the PSG one was.

I hate to sound harsh on him, because frankly, up until that moment, he had a pretty brilliant game, possibly on par with his performance vs Liverpool in the first leg of last season's COC semi-final. The save in the 4th(?) minute from Veratti was especially excellent because of the way the ball dipped so viciously, so late. I heard Michael Owen say it was a regulation save, and, if anything, he should do more to parry it away from the danger zone, but he did very, very well with that strike. Also with the di Maria free-kick, which was a challenging save as it is almost instinctive for every goalkeeper on the planet to move to the side the wall is protecting. But he is very poor on the second goal, I have to say. He has two choices - one is to "stay and pray", i.e. simply to assume what is known as the A-position, on his goal-line, to make himself as big as possible and to narrow the angle, making it almost impossible to score; or he has to go and sweep up and clear the ball. It seems he was caught between both, hence why he led with his feet on the save attempt. He really ought to have made himself a big object in a smaller target, by advancing very slightly, in that A-position stance, in which case the Cavani shot is easily saved. That was the only blot on an otherwise perfect copy book. This is something endemic in the professional game, as many goalkeepers tend to launch themselves at the ball in order to block the shot, but the striker almost always has the composure to slot under the onrushing goalkeeper. An example of this is Thibaut last night, as opposed to someone like Cech, who only ever goes to ground or launches himself in when he is at most 1.5/2 yards from the ball, which is the correct application of the technique.

Player of the Year Torres at his absolute worst was better than Hazard is currently.
-
PSG were terrible yesterday. Such an undeserved win, but that is the quality in their side - we switch off once and get punished. Should be going back to the Bridge at 1-1.
-
He is versatile, a standard 7/10 player, and works hard for the team. Why not? This is his debut season where he has struggled with poor form and fitness. Under proper management and once he has acclimatised, he could be a Malouda/Anelka/Kalou-esque squad player who can give us 10-15 a season.
-
32 goals in 66 games (60 starts) is impressive. Better goals-to-games record than Drogba, who scored his first 32 Chelsea goals in 82 games.
-
THANK ALLAH, SOMEONE SPEAKS SENSE. 18 points out of 30, in the context of this season, is equal to picking up 25 out of 30 in any normal season. It is a phenomenal achievement. I hope people do recall that, prior to Guus' appointment, the most games we'd gone without losing was two matches.
-
True. My concern is Hazard is showing no physical improvement. I don't even think he's fit. Where's his speed, his explosive acceleration? Seems to have just vanished.
-
Those goals have come in games where Hazard could and should have scored multiple times - but he didn't.
