  1. It would be a nice gesture from Mourinho, the man who gave Sam his first appearance for the club, to appoint him to some sort of coaching role either for the first team, or with the U21s. Sadly a playing career seems out of the question for the boy.
  2. I'm going to spam him until he follows me and/or starts playing properly.
  3. Haha, I wasn't joking when I suggested it. A public vote could get messy. Imagine if some moron got elected? I already have to deal with Spike and Steve, ffs.
  4. My suggestion: Use the GC forum.BluesMaster has suggested creating a new sub-forum where each member can have their own topic. My reply is that we can use General Chat for the exact same purpose. People will still have their own topics where people can ask questions. Go by the plan suggested by Barbara.Let's have a lot of fun!
  5. "The Dodgy One" is my official title on TC.
  6. But then again, Bruma played at CB against Aston Villa in the 3-3 draw and was terrorised by Emile Heskey...
  7. I'm thinking of either (if the rest of the staff agree, anyway!): A) The members nominate 3-4 preferred candidates. We can have fun with an election campaign! The staff team would then elect their favourite candidate. The staff nominate 3-4 candidates and we have a public vote. C) Or I just do all totalitarian and choose the new Mod myself
  8. Not a bad shout. I'll pitch it to the crew.
  9. I agree, Ron. I've been away for a month and Choulo and Jason have both done a brilliant job during that absence, especially since Jim and Steve are very busy as well. We have a great team here and I hope we can continue to perform at that high level.
  10. Hey, I'm quite sure I was about 15 when I was asked that, plus that's when my dad used to come on here as well - what the fuck was I supposed to say! I like the idea though. Who would be interested in running it?
  11. I seriously worry that people care so much about a trivial forum award. Quite pathetic. Think I'll lock this thread now, if I ever need cheering up I'll read through all these wonderful conspiracy theories. All rather quite enjoyable.
  12. No I have to be honest, you're all absolutely correct, I was sat at my computer relentlessly refreshing the page until Azpi took the lead. Definitely nothing to do with the fact I had to change the date because I'm going away for the weekend.
  13. cynical Line breaks: cyn|ic¦al Pronunciation: /ˈsɪnɪk(ə)l / ADJECTIVE 1Believing that people are motivated purely by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity:he was brutally cynical and hardened to every sob story under the sun http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/cynical
  14. Haha, keep it with Azpi then!
  15. Shall we do a "Most Improved Player" and "Goal of the Year" award as well?
  16. Should Chelsea and Atletico de Madrid be paired in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois CAN play against his parent club... ...but only if Atletico are willing to pay at least €6 million. Though the exact figure has yet to be confirmed, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo has confirmed there is a clause in Courtois' loan deal to the Spanish side that means the club must cough up a hefty fee for the young Belgian to feature against the Blues. Sky Sports are reporting that the clause operates per match, meaning Atletico would have to cough up as much as £8 million for Courtois to play over two legs. It means that Dani Aranzubia, the 34-year-old second-choice keeper, would be likely to start, with Cerezo claiming the fee is "too much" for his club to even contemplate paying. However, with the likelihood of Atletico securing their first La Liga title since 1996 and the considerable payments from UEFA for reaching the semi-finals, there is a small possibility that the Belgian will be able to feature. The news comes as doubts have emerged over the long-term security of Petr Cech's position as Chelsea's number 1, with Mourinho reportedly keen to bring Courtois back to Stamford Bridge after the summer.
  17. Cesar Azpilicueta has been voted the winner of the TalkChelsea Player of the Year award for 2013/14. In a vote carried out by TalkChelsea members, Azpilicueta beat the other contenders in a four-man shortlist, including Eden Hazard, John Terry and Gary Cahill. Despite beginning the season as a utility man, and understudy on either flank to regular full-backs Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole, Azpilicueta has taken his opportunity and made 38 appearances this season, starting 34 of those games. Scoring against Arsenal early in the season, Azpilicueta has also recorded two assists, with his deflected cross setting up Demba Ba's late winner against Paris St-Germain on Tuesday evening to send the Blues through to the Champions League last four. Azpilicueta - known as Azpi or "Dave" amongst Chelsea supporters - has enjoyed a magnificent season, and has played an integral role in maintaining one of the fiercest defensive records in Europe. Indeed, as well as being a vital figure in a defence tat has conceded the least goals and maintained the most clean sheets in the Premier League, Azpilicueta and Chelsea have only conceded one goal at Stamford Bridge thus far in 2014. A model of consistency and professionalism, Azpilicueta first truly broke onto the scene under the tutelage of Rafael Benitez last season as he competed for a right-back berth with Ivanovic, but the unassuming Spaniard has blossomed under José Mourinho into the Premier League's best left-back. Everyone at TalkChelsea wishes Dave all the best for the remainder of the season, and also for the World Cup where he is likely to do well for his country given his fine form in 2014. Congratulations!
  18. We have two of the top five goalkeepers in world football. That's a great statistic until you realise you can only play one of them, something has to give!
  19. And that's it! Voting is closed! CESAR AZPILICUETA IS THE WINNER OF THE TALKCHELSEA.NET PLAYER OF THE SEASON AWARD!
  20. A striker - even the best striker in the world - will usually only score one chance from the four/five he has in a match. Cavani is no different. My concern is he won't get that number of chances here.
