  1. Highly-rated Croatian midfield sensation Mario Pasalic has joined Chelsea for a fee close to £3 million. The German-born midfielder enjoyed a wonderful first season in the professional game as he netted eleven times in 36 club appearances for Hadjuk Split, with the highlight coming in a 2-1 away triumph over city rivals RNK Split, where he scored both of his team's goals. Pasalic, 19, was included in Croatia's prelimary 30-man World Cup squad, but just missed out on being called up to the final 23-man roster by Niko Kovač. It is widely touted that the young attacking midfielder, who idolises former Blues number 8 Frank Lampard, will return on loan to Hadjuk for the coming season, but he will most likely be included in Chelsea's pre-season European tour beforehand.
  2. James I've started calling you Ham-ez in honour of James Rodriguez, thought you'd like to know. Also, glad to see you posting more frequently, as you're one of the best members on this site. Haha, £48 million of centre-back for you, right there. Embarrassing. And people criticised me when I said he lacked positional discipline. It isn't up to the centre back to dribble upfield all the time. Dat fool banned today as well
  3. How did you get back on here? Feck off.
  4. Great guy. Please, God, give him a clean bit of health/
  5. Gave it a go, but looked well of the pace. Luckily for him, £48m David Luiz made him look like Ronaldinho in comparison
  6. Not been so excited about a signing in years. Think this surpasses the Hazard signing, who we all knew would take time to settle. You know what you're getting with Cesc - a world-class, proven, homegrown Premier League player. So fucking excited to see him start games for us. Should be reasonably fresh as he was spared at the WC.
  7. Good player... but will he offer anything different to what we already have? In terms of quality he's far superior to Mikel, but he's really only a more technically competent version of Ramires, but without the same acceleration and power.
  8. We hold all the cards, Ron. If he doesn't want to sign a new contract, then we sell him, on our terms. We don't have to play him. He can rot on the bench for 18 months before we sell him "on the cheap" for £20 million in January 2016. It's not like he's the only world-class keeper here!
  9. ^ very easy to say that, but if I'm an England international and the World Cup is coming home in 2026, I'd be thinking of nothing else than playing in that first game at Wembley Stadium, and going all the way to the final.
  10. Don't know what you guys think (and I also don't care because I am entirely supportive of my own statement here), but Schweinsteiger completely ran the show last night. Kroos has a long way to go. No denying he's talented, but he isn't the world-class superstar many of you are playing him up to be.
  11. That second goal, oh my word. But for Cahill and Rodriguez's volleys, in another tournament that could have been goal of the competition with ease. This boy is continuing to grow at this World Cup, and I hope he wins it. Would be fantastic to have another World Cup winner in the squad beyond Cescbomb and Nando.
  12. Only when it suits them. I'm 21 and I'll use the "I'm a kid" excuse now and again. Lukaku plays his part with credible naivety and innocence. Maybe that's why he can't keep his mouth shut, even things like slagging off Arsenal on Twitter last night by saying Ozil is too good for them. Unprofessional.
  13. He showed some balls. I'm quite proud that he, Oscar and Willian when he came on - Paulinho too, to be fair - were the only ones that kept going. Showed some defiance. That's Chelsea character showing through there. He might not have played well, but to come on 5-0 down and still give as much as you've got is admirable. They'd have had all the energy and heart sucked right out of them.
  14. Just so you're aware, the voting schedule, which will be rigorously adhered to: Nominations close at 2100 BST (GMT+1) on Sunday (13 July) evening. The polls will be published on Monday, and voting will then run until 2100 BST on Friday 18 July. The polls will then temporarily be moved to the Staff Room, making them private to allow me to rig them. The victors/the people who I want to win will be announced at some point on Sunday 20 July.
  15. KAA, what would you do if the sky set on fire and the Illuminati fired triangular frisbees at us?
  16. It is a shame. Lovely guy. Incredible guts and determination. I wish, from the bottom of my heart, that he has a good bit of health.
  17. Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson has joined Sheffield Wednesday, the club's Twitter page has confirmed. Hutchinson announced his premature retirement from football in 2010 following a serious of knee operations, but, in a story broken by TalkChelsea, the player made an unlikely comeback in 2011 after twelve months of extensive physiotherapy work. He made his competitive return in 2012, coming on as a substitute in a 6-1 mauling of Queens Park Rangers. Yet further injury concerns hampered otherwise productive loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Vitesse, and despite a series of strong performances for Wednesday last season in a short-term loan deal, Chelsea took the decision not to renew the defender's contract. Hutchinson made six appearances for the Blues - including two starts - in his injury-hit spell, but it is for the admirable character he has displayed in making his comeback that he is to be so warmly regarded for. His best moment in a Chelsea shirt came in April 2010, when he supplied a raking cross from deep that Frank Lampard flicked in during a 7-0 thrashing of Stoke City: Everyone at TalkChelsea wishes Sam the very best of luck - and health - for the future, and that he, from this point onwards, enjoys a long and fruitful career, for there is no young man more deserving. Thank you, Sam, and good luck!

  20. Hmm, close enough. You forgot the bit where I either A - close topics early so the outcome I desire is the winning one, and/or B - I rig the polls after hiding them in the staff room.
