Only been a few games but already very impressed with him. Chilwell’s got a lot of work to do to get back in the team for me (although he’s maybe not fully fit yet)
-
Trying far too hard to make an impression. Needs to take it slow and it will happen naturally. Thats without even thinking about the red card. Abysmal. Doesn’t matter what age you are, how experienced you are, you don’t do that on a booking, thats just common sense.

He is one of the most petulant footballers in the PL, that is why. Leave him at Palace. When things don’t go for him he cuts about like a 5 year old who’s been told to go to bed when he doesn’t want to. Also Everton have been the only club stupid enough to offer Palace big money for him.
-
An even bigger problem for us playing 433 is the lack of quality out wide in attacking areas. Bar Sterling. Thats another reason why we play with wing backs. Because James and Cucurella/Chilwell are more threatening out wide than most of our actual wingers.
-
Good move for him. Never good enough for an elite level club but definitely can be a very good player for the likes of a West Ham.
-
I am sure Tino rejected a new deal and Lampard sealed Tomori’s fate loaning him out with buy option.
-
Tchou was never coming here let’s be honest, even last year. As soon as Madrid entered the frame and firmed up their interest it was inevitable. I mean I am 100% certain we would of gotten him last year if he wanted to come here but he was likely always going to be waiting on Madrid coming in for him. Either that or Tuchel wasn’t convinced fully. Plus until I’ve seen him do well for Madrid I am yet to concede we missed out on a good deal. Letting Casemiro go is madness.
-
Went “toe to toe” then basically fell apart at 3-1. Not a good sign being 3-1 up and conceding 2 goals. Fair enough there was a quality pass for the third but it was still too easy and the Haaland goal was embarrassingly poor defensively too. Plus another day they lose that game 6-3. Granted they played well (well it was really a one man show at times as ASM was causing City huge issues) but City didn’t properly start playing with a purpose to they were 3-1 down I thought and still could have had a goal or two half at it (Haaland shot saved onto post was a big moment).

Bad game but who played well? Hes still young and needs time to find his feet at a big club. As said before months and months afo when he was “100 times better than Mount” or whatever, its one thing playing well for Palace in a 3 where he doesn’t have to be as disciplined or theres not that expectation but its another here when every team plays like its a cup final. Same for Broja which Tuchel’s said recently. Was same for Tammy, Tomori, James and Mount also.

Knives out after 2 or 3 games. Embarrassing. Get a grip. Hes a good player. All of them were shite against Leeds.
-
His finishing is going to cost us points. As did Werners. If he is going to be used as a attacker be it through the middle or off the front man, he cannot afford to be that bad a finisher. He gets into good positions at times but a lack of being clinical is going to kill us this season, again.
-
Hes always gonna be a big fish in a small pond.
-
I think we tried last minute. People doubted him outside of City but I don’t think its any surprise if he goes and grabs 15-20 goals for them this season.
-
Horrible in the run up to the goal though and Martinelli has had him on toast.
-
He is going to score a lot for them. And his work ethic, desire to press and everything else would of made him slot in perfectly here with what TT wants us to do.
-
Why didnt we make signing Jesus a priority…..
-
Be hard to shift him permanently - financially at least. Loan doable but still difficult unless we subsidise a lot of his wages. 1) Clubs will have to pay a decent loan fee or if permanently, pay a sum which likely won’t be under 25 million considering he has another 3 years on his deal IIRC and cost 72m to start with. 2) Clubs will have to offer him a competitive wage packet, although doesn’t have the equal what he gets here but it will still likely be a pretty good wage. Even for loan, we will get stung with at least 75% of his salary as was touted for Napoli deal. Plus if a teams needing a GK and can get Keylor Navas who is still a top GK, permanently, for less - why wouldn’t they? I don’t think Kepa will get an easy move due to his price and wages. Be it permanently or on loan.

Well that didn’t take long. Hopeless fat cunt. Where was this anger last season when you swanned about like a diddy doing nothing?
-
People said the same of van Dijk, Forster and Wanyana who went on and played very good PL careers moving from Celtic. Juranovic is a pretty solid player but not Chelsea level. Mid table team yes, he’d be a very astute signing for some clubs. But the jump he’d need to make, I cannot envisage it based on what I seen of him last season. The links to us, United and Atletico Madrid earlier in the window are/were a bit odd I thought. Was rumblings re Juventus monitoring him too but not surely how true they were. He is definitely not a championship player though. Watched a lot of Celtic games last season and he’s definitely good enough to play in the PL for a team between 8-14th. They’ve got a cracking song for him at Celtic Park too 😂

Having individuals who put up these numbers help make the difference though. They always will. And will continue to do so. On team work and hard work etc - we could show up against a Liverpool or a City and win showing that sort of fight, spirit, togetherness and hard work then struggle against Leicester or Watford or someone due to not being consistent enough upfront/not being clinical. Or due to other teams working harder than us. End of the day, the teams with the best and consistent players usually come out on top. I’ve seen this since as long as I can remember. Probably all the way back from Andre Villas-Boas’ spell right through to now this is still an issue. Maybe even before with Carlo in the second season.

Be a tough game if we don’t improve our performance v Everton. Hopefully no Kai in the starting 11 because it was like playing with 10 men last week. Bit worried about Kuluveski too for Spurs if I am honest. Has been a revelation since going to Spurs. Think he has like 9 or 10 assists since signing there in January, only Dembele from Barca has more in that time period. Not even mentioning Son and Kane too. Defensively have to be very good.

One thing I really liked was the lack of touches he took when it came to passing. I know Chilly is only back from an injury but even before, sometimes, he can take 2 or 3 more touches than necessary. Or play a softer pass that slows down the build up. I don’t know how long he played but how many times did Cucurella get the ball out of his feet and fire a quick pass into a team mate? Even under pressure? This sort of thing will help our build up play and allow the guys in MF to get on it quicker. RJ and Chilly both sometimes are very guilty of this, although they are both good enough not to need to do this.
-
Devastated he’s leaving….. not. Never been up to it, good to see Boehly being ruthless and pushing for a sale and not a loan.
-
Dont think he was necessarily bad there. Thought he was a positive. Actually his ability to take and carry the ball, relieving pressure and getting us up the pitch was impressive. Plus his movement in and around the box, you can see what playing in a Pep teams done to him, he’s always sniffing around the penalty box, never standing still. Was unlucky not to get a goal yesterday.
-
Overhyped at times and no doubt the massive contract killed him. If he went to Bayern he’d of already been back in the PL playing for a bottom 10 side. Thats his consistent level just now unfortunately. Injury wouldn’t of helped too either but I think he was given too much too soon.
