Take more than just Broja and Gallagher though. Even at the beginning of the season Broja was never going to be the man or enough to lead our attack every week when trying to compete for a title when some suggested it (although clearly it is fair to say neither is Lukaku). Both have had good seasons so far but I think we would all like to have seen them play like this, in the PL, at this level, for longer than 1 year. I would imagine one will definitely be involved with the squad whilst another maybe on loan again to keep progressing based on how many loans they’ve had already. I mean look at when the guys came in under Frank, they were a breath of fresh air for a while then we hit a wall with inconsistencies. Two thirds of our attacking players are struggling/not at the required levels not to really further progress/compete with City and Liverpool as a team as well as Azpi/Rudi/Andreas all potentially leaving so its obvious that we will need a few.
-
🤣 so the knives are out after 2 poor team performances a few weeks after hes agreed to sign Barca. He’s basically been Mr consistent (at a very high level) for 80-90% of Tuchel’s reign, some of you need to settle down. It is embarrassing. Yous gonna turn on Rudi too if he leaves?
-
Pretty sure we had bad results prior to the CL games, particularly v Porto (WBA game) last season. Wouldn’t worry about this today in regards to the CL, form goes out the window for knockout football. Plus Madrid may be top of La Liga but they are an older side. Would expect TT to outwit Ancelotti tactically if I am honest, well, only if he plays 343 as us using a back 4 is horrendous.
-
Every time we use a back 4 with Tuchel, we struggle. What a shite result if it stays this way. And people have been continuously muttering about wanting to see a back 4 this season too. Doesn't work. Also RLC and Werner yikes. Not good enough.
-
Yep. Must be difficult not playing against Israel every week for Germany.
-
If we are stuck with Werner for another season we are doomed. In fact some of the attackers we have need a serious kick up the arse but Werner is clearly not a good fit to stay here for another season.
-
Be surprised if he remains at Everton beyond the summer. Their owner is notorious for going through managers and Frank hasn’t really turned anything around, in fact they’re struggling just as much if not even more. Theres also huge talk of a clause in his contract which means they have to avoid a big pay out to get rid of him. Still can’t believe he thought going to Everton was going to be a good move for him.
-
Tbf Higuain and Morata robbed him of about 5 assists easily his first season here and then god knows about under Frank year 1 because we had a good xG but poor conversion rate.
-
Keep seeing talk of a “super consortium” and quite frankly it scares me. As they say, having too many cooks spoils the broth. Hopefully we get something done with a leading figure and not X amount of idiots who may want or expect different things as having great leadership upstairs is everything in an organisation.

We as a club are collateral damage (lack of better words perhaps considering the situation in Ukraine that many folk find themselves in) of the whole Roman-Putin links/history which we always knew was there. Lets not pretend that after the whole Russian poisoning on Sergei Skripal a few years ago also that any sort of international incident involving Russia was always going to bring dire consequences to Roman and more than likely the club. It sure is going to be interesting to see how this plays out because there is an absolute lot riding on how this sale goes/how it happens etc.

Opinion: Chelsea will still get a quick sale despite sanctions
OneMoSalah replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
Is Simon Phillips an idiot? It is now impossible for Roman to sell the club whilst under sanctions unless the government give him a special license in which proves he wont benefit from it financially….. This opinion we will get a quick sale is beyond ridiculous 🤣 -
Thinking about what new owners will want or wont want is a bit premature. There has been no offers and this process will undoubtedly be drawn out due to the asking price not to mention complications if Roman is sanctioned amongst other things. Plus I have a feeling any new potential owners may look at the cycle and success we’ve had the past 20 years and think, maybe it isn’t worth changing too much too soon? Who knows. Still it’s going to be months before anything is done more than likely and I wouldn’t be surprised if Roman is still owner come end of the season.
-
Players cost a specific amount based on their ability though. He didn’t have a 52m release clause for nothing so to not expect more from him and question him taking that price tag into consideration would be wrong. I mean look at Lukaku who is getting the exact same based on his price tag. Which is mentioned every game/week and rightfully so based on his performances.
-
Is him being “put down” or perhaps criticised is a better word, undeserved though? I mean has he really done enough to justify the money he cost? I mean is it really such an injustice to expect more from a guy who scored 94 goals at RB Leipzig in 4 seasons and looked like a top player? Or to think someone of his reported quality and ability should be able to control a football better or dribble better? Or not be caught offside a lot? There are major issues in our club atm in attacking positions when you look at it. A lot of players don’t seem capable of delivering enough and he is 100% one of them. As is Lukaku. I don’t see how anyone can dispute this. Just because Lukaku has been shite doesn’t mean Timo hasn’t been. He has been pretty awful bar a collection of games and you cannot get away from that.
-
The real irony is you are posting you want these sort of passes regularly, asking “is it that hard?” in the RLC thread. The man who is the king of inconsistency, struggling to stay fit and having next to 0 real end product 99/100 times.

Irrespective of the linkage to Putin from his past, not wanting any loans repaid (sum of £2bn is what the club owns him apparently) and donating money to victims in Ukraine is an absolutely colossal statement. Top man.
-
Needs to be more ruthless if he is to kick on. The run off the ball itself was good but finishing was just off.
-
Worked in the Super Cup. Didn't today. Cant blame the boy really, or even blame Tuchel, this was potentially going to happen at some point… just the way the cookie crumbles with penalties. To lose on the 22nd penalty, its pretty unlucky.
-
I would imagine 90% of Europe is against what Putin is doing. But him being for/against what Putin is doing is not why this is unfolding the way it is with Roman at current re his assets.
-
But if this document is legit then surely Roman admitting in a court of law that he ‘paid for political influence’ around 3 and a half years ago or whenever all but effectively give them a bone to chew on? Plus the links to Putin haven’t been proven? I am sure for the best part of 10-15 years particularly theyve been well documented and there has been multiple accounts of their relationship. Whether or not the links are as extreme as they have been claimed to be is another question but there 100% was a relationship there, go and look it up. It is well known and documented in 1999 that Roman interviewed personnel for cabinet positions under Putin when he first became Russian PM and also again, Roman was consulted regarding Putin’s successor in 2007. Roman also had very well known ties to Boris Yeltsin who was PM prior to Putin.

Wolves hardly collapsed, they were poor all game, was only ever going to be one winner if you watched the game… I mean even positionally this season looking at the table, nobody expected them to be as high as they are first and foremost and again, I doubt anyone was expecting them to beat Arsenal either. I know I wasn’t before a ball was kicked. Wolves finish where they are and its a brilliant season for them. Nobody expected them to be this position or even do remotely well with their new manager. So their hardly duds. Leicester on the other hand have went from dropping out of the CL spaces twice, going into the Europa League and now ended up in the Conference League this season. Not to mention wherever they are now in the table. Now that is a collapse.
-
Not sure how anybody could be surprised that this will/could happen. All because of that fucking idiot Putin too. The article on the previous page talking about Roman and emissions makes me laugh. How many planes take off in the UK daily? How many ships voyage in and out of the UK per week? How many cars are on the road in the UK daily? Yet they talk about one man and his super yacht/plane causing emissions 🤣 stupid cunts

We dont necessarily need to be ahead of Liverpool or City either in terms of performance. Those standards are ridiculously high. Like Jose’s team here between 04-06. Or the Invincibles. Or Fergies 07-08 (IIRC) team with Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney uptop amongst many examples. Just have to match theirs/improve our own consistency and ability to get results even when struggling. City may blow teams away anywhere between 4 to 7 goals to nil like 5 or 6 times a season minimum but when things aren’t going well in games, or they seem off in front of goal, they manage to cross that mental barrier and turn 1 points into 3 points. As do Liverpool. That is what we have struggled with and then ultimately we drop points. Obviously we want to reach those levels but those standards are ridiculously high and our business/club model isn’t geared up to give a manager that amount of time to achieve such a sustainable level of success. Because it has taken 3+ years at least for Pep and Klopp to get them that good. Hopefully Tuchel is the man to get this time though.
-
Bayern? Really? A quick, technical, possession oriented and counter pressing team basing their team around Lukaku.….. who well, we’ve seen how he’s done here in a team not as good or complete as Bayern….. Not so sure. More like wishful thinking. Or pipeline dream that someone will buy him.
-
Bayern 😂 There is no real or alternative reality in which Bayern go for Lukaku. They would go for Werner before Rom. And then about 971663 other players before Rom.
