  1. The past 2 seasons (not this one) they’ve been in the driving seat/extremely favourable positions for finishing in the CL and theyve ended up failing to qualify. It is almost as if the pressure is too much for him and his players, like that season at Liverpool. FA cup aside, for all the talk of him being an elite manager, he has shown time and time again he can’t get his team over the line when it truly matters. Which is what I meant by Leicester doing Leicester things under him. Ok sure, aye he is a good manager but when he’s talked about as being a Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea or any other elite level club manager, it blows my mind. He is not the elite level and never will be.
  2. Leicester City doing Leicester City things under Brendan Rodgers. Bottling games and giving up a higher league position. And people constantly link him with being the next United or City manager…..
  3. Its not really a hatred. Its just that he is a very very poor elite level footballer. I don’t see how anyone can disagree when he regularly cannot even do the basics ie. passing to his team mates, dribbling without running into people, not being able to stay up after any bit of physical contact. (Sounds a bit like another attacker we have 😂) Granted all the attackers are having issues of their own/poor seasons (Mounts only one with an acceptable return) but if we want to be successful for a prolonged and sustained period we cannot build a team where Timo is a key component, he clearly isnt good enough. He may have been an important cog in the system last year but lets be fair, did he really impress anyone when TT came in last season for a prolonged period? Or did he really really improve? Granted his movement was a plus but seriously he cannot be one of our front 3 if we are serious on becoming PL champions anytime soon. Havertz and Mount had clear visible improvements under TT but bar a game v Newcastle I think Timo was just as poor as he was before his appointment if I am honest. Yes Lukaku is essentially a dud. After a few months of thinking surely TT can make it work with him as our CF I’ve given up hope. The interview has also got rid of any sort of hope I have for him doing well here.
  4. Yep agree with the shoehorning point. Re the attackers - I generally think we can still get something out of Mount and Kai. Just they need to step it up a lot because there is the potential and there is definitely top top players capable of playing for this team in them. Well they are definitely more capable of contributing than the others. Timo is Timo, Ziyech is Ziyech and Pulisic is Pulisic. CHO also infuriating but given his home grown status, he can be a valuable squad player/option at RWB still. But what I don’t get is how anybody can look at Timo Werner or Ziyech and see them doing well here. Pulisic seems to be hugely out of favour too. Seriously though, if TT can find a front 3 without Rom and Timo, make it work and keep it.
  5. Please, can we go and get 2 attackers, that are actually good and suit the style?
  6. Heres hoping but again, going back to the front 3 from last season, they aren’t doing much this time around so I still think we may see some frustration and mixed results/1-0s again. If we can find a front 3 without Rom and Timo and it works, I hope to god he keeps it.
  7. It doesn’t matter if its the point or not. He could have thrown on Pulisic, Havertz, Werner or Gary Goals with 20-25 minutes to go and 95% chance they wouldn’t of came up with a winning goal. We were that poor in the final third and our attackers are that inconsistent. They don’t do enough and 2 of the 3 players I named there definitely aren’t good enough to play here. Sick of mentioning them, they shouldn’t be Chelsea players based on the last 18 months or so. And on the systems people were complaining end of last season for a back 4, then again in pre-season clamouring for a back 4. Then when the games started going iffy before the turn of the year people wanted us to use a back 4. Now we use a back 4 and people complain about using a back 4…. It is not rocket science to see this team is much better suited a 343.
  8. Honking. Him, Werner, Ziyech, Pulisic all gone in the summer please. If we truly have aspiration’s to being a top top team for longer than 8 months they have to go.
  9. He could have started Werner wherever from minute 1, we all know he would of done fuck all. He is hopeless. As is Ziyech. All the attacking players we have signed in the past 3 seasons have been pretty much useless. I sincerely hope that if we are serious about becoming a title winning team, or closing the gap to City even more, that we sell both (maybe Pulisic as well) and just play Lukaku against FA cup minnows to he can be sold because he is also shocking.
  10. Think we can all thoroughly agree his wee spell earlier on in the season was a purple patch. £150k a years for 5 years. Wow
  11. He is awful. One of the few who have to go this summer because theres no chance we let him go this month. Although didn’t expect him to do anything in 12 minutes. Well don’t expect him to do anything in 90 odd minutes normally. Also Lukaku is honking - just hope that Belgian guy doesn’t pop up with a 28000 word reply about how he isn’t confident.
  12. Werner 🤝 fucking up a simple pass he just had to roll into his team mate‘s feet Ah well lets just hope that little cunt Maupey doesnt score a winner for them 😂
  13. Exactly. But was apparently ripping us apart on the right…. I think he made one proper run from deep where he genuinely got away from anybody and into space. But fluffed the cross. The only good opportunity he had made from a Rudi and Alonso mix up where Rudi heads it out to him from a cross coming off the left. They made more opportunities/got into better positions from the left hand side with Cucurella.
  14. I dont think we should use it a lot really. Barring the first leg v Spurs where we used a back 3 and 4 of hybrid depending on when we had the ball it hasn’t really worked at all.
  15. Theres a reason we play a back 3 with Tuchel and have been largely successful with it. Simply, right now, I dont think this defence is good enough to play a back 4 in the way we want to play but apparently its “too defensive” according to some folk on here…..
  16. Aye just noticed was Webster. Still, shocking to give someone a free header like that.
  17. Who is picking up Duffy there? Honestly? Piss poor.
  18. I don’t know what you expect though, Alonso and/or Azpilicueta are pushing up high when we have the ball (as usual, same happens with Reece and Chilly) and its giving us passing options on the sides/the opportunity to switch the play and utilise the overload they’ve created. Do we just have them sit in all game because Lamptey has had 2 or 3 runs down the right side? The 2 wingbacks today lack some athleticism but lets not pretend that this being countered on the wings by teams is necessarily something new or something that doesn’t happen. I think the commentator on the stream I am watching said he had 7 touches so far after the pass/shit run situation involving Ziyech. So he’s maybe at around 10 if that.
  19. Aye but Lamptey hasn’t really affected the game at all though has he? I mean your making out as if he’s prime Cafu when he’s much more like the Theo Walcott of wingbacks. Basically needing lots of space to run into and then 99/100 times shits himself when he gets to the final third, delivering subpar crosses every time. (Watch now he will likely assist their equaliser or something) On the game itself, since the goal we’ve played better in the first two thirds of the field but the attack is disjointed and not making any sort of real impact. CHO spurned the only other half decent chance we had when he maybe could have tried putting it to Mason in and around the penalty spot.
  20. Must win. That team is more than good enough too.
  21. Maybe he can come in and play RWB or LWB 😂
  22. No thanks. His move to Madrid is proof that the grass isn’t always greener and ultimately, he is finished IMO. Honestly think for the fee he cost and wages he’s on, he will struggle to get a top club move. I mean Coutinho is a reference for this sort of thing also although he somehow got a move to Bayern for 6 months and eventually only got out of Barca to go to Villa with a chance of a permanent move.
  23. He may of done that but that seasons not that good when you break it down and look at where the goals came from. He only scored 8 league goals that season and the other 14 goals were in cup competitions (CL & Europa League 9, Community Shield 1, FA Cup 1, Club World Cup 1, League Cup 2). Even in the near 4700 minutes he played that season at club level, 22 goals equals a goal every 215 minutes roughly so a goal just a bit less than every 2 and a half games. He wasn’t bought to assist goals either so not even concerned about those, thats what Hazard, Oscar, Mata were all signed for, to build around the donkey that someone thought was a racehorse. Its not that impressive when you consider Costa scored 20 PL goals alone in his 1st season, 12 the 2nd season (and he was pretty shite alongside everyone else for the first half of the season), and 20 again in the 3rd. Even Morata scored more PL goals in 1 season for us than Torres ever manager, getting 11 the first year. Torres never ever scored double figure PL goals since 2009-10 season. He is still easily in the top 2/3 worst signings in the clubs history. Without a doubt. We honestly tried to build teams around the guy when he was finished. Even Carragher, his ex team mate said it, he couldn’t believe we paid 50m for him.
  24. I think Bogarde and Torres both are still by far the worst transfers we’ve ever done off the top of my head. Both for different reasons too. I suppose Nando gets a little credit for that goal that made Gary Neville spunk his drawers on live TV v Barca at the Nou Camp and the one in the Europa League final v Benfica but other than that, he is by far the worst footballer I think I’ve ever seen play so regularly at any top club based on the majority of the first 18 months or 2 years he was here. Ok he still wasn’t good after that but those first 2 years he had, he was pish. Like everything he did - didn’t work bar the odd 10-15 minutes of looking like a reasonable level professional in a match every 4 months. Then well Bogarde though, £40k a week, for 4 seasons in which he played maybe 10 times. We all know that story too well. I think topping those 2 will be hard done, even considering everything re Lukaku. Even considering then the likes of Drinkwater, Bakayoko, etc. they would still struggle.
