Jump in performances but not results. No thanks. And for year 1. Well we’ve not seen any ideas this season bar using Sterling at RWB and continuing as the best team in the world at passing the ball around the back 4 needlessly and aimlessly, with no goal of getting up the pitch.
-
You would think some progress would’ve been made since he came in, not like our squad was a bad one before.
-
Wont lie people saying about 2 weeks before next game coming up. Its not gonna make a difference, we have literally got no cohesion or patterns of play that are noticeable and we don’t press. At all. Funnily enough I get theres a lot of new players but there isn’t any noticeable improvements from Tuchel at the season start to Potter. Dortmund gonna be a very tough game - wouldn’t be surprised if Boehly & co are looking elsewhere come the summer for a coach. Lot of reports we are keeping an eye on the Austrian guy at Eintracht Frankfurt…
-
Either Willian or Paulinha in MF for Fulham, he has also been excellent. Just seems to know where the ball is going all the time. Hes been pretty good all season too from what I’ve read.
-
Gallagher has been for the lack of better words, absolutely honking. Never seen somebody do the hard bit in winning the ball back then fucking give it away so many times in my life. And then other times he’s just chasing his first touch. Is he Chelsea quality at present? No. Will he ever be? Not sure. Did he just take a corner and hit the first man? My god another one joins the club.

Think Mudryk coming off? Would of taken Sterling on if he’s fit tbf. Even Ziyech would of taken him off. Wingers been unproductive.
-
Would of took him in instead of Mudryk if I was honest. Nothing against Mudryk but I think BB has been pretty exceptional since he’s come in really. He looks like he’s been here for ages. Plus him and Silva look like they are our best pairing already. Why not take that in Europe?
-
He played as a 10, as a CF and as a RW/wide 10 in a 3421 at Bayer. Either way he has no excuses for producing what he produces week in week out. Also hes played as a CF for Germany too as well as here for almost 2 years now. He doesn’t strike me as someone with any obvious creative traits either so better upfront than a 10 here Id say. And even then he’s not much upfront.

Think theres been 2 or 3 good passes through the lines from Enzo but I am a bit concerned with how easily Fulham were getting into their frontman through their MF. Wouldn’t say anyone’s been hugely impressive. Nothing looks hugely different from the other games. And I don’t know if we are playing with a 2 man pivot or 3 man MF with a single pivot. Either way defensively the MFers, Enzo included, not protecting or doing enough off the ball barring the odd 2 or 3 tackles.
-
Fulham also looking more likely to nick something with the amount of recoveries their making in the final third. Although our press under Potter has always been non existent. And I’m all for playing out but daft passes like that one from Mudryk into Enzo when someones literally a millimetre behind him in his own half will kill us against a team like these. Never mind against a proper good team. Just begging for him to be dispossessed in a dangerous area of the park, then Kepa wtf lol. Also Kai, thats why we need to sell him, will never ever ever be reliable as a 9.
-
Not pressing high with this group of mobile and athletic players is a mistake. Also Fulham managing to find passes beyond Enzo and Gallagher (not disciplined enough for a 2 as we look more 4231 than 433) with far too much ease first half. Big gaps. Cucurella also struggling but Mudryk not really working back either with Tete.
-
Really? Would say that chance for Havertz there is as much proof that somebody like Enzo who is willing to look for runners in behind teams could suit someone like Mason who is a willing runner. Quality of pass there too, bit of defending and bad miss from Havertz.
-
Its weird. People saying about all these new signings and how “they’ll unlock” Havertz but not one mention for how they will or might help Mason. Its mind blowing. Seen someone say Mason been shite all season but mostly who hasn’t been? We weren’t sitting 10th for no reason were we?
-
I don’t know. I get the optimism but we’ve made 16 signings in 1 season and we will make more in the summer so its not exactly a given that the amount of changes is going to be as purely positive as first imagined. Mainly because teams take time to build up and considering this last 2 windows alone has been a dramatic overhaul of the playing squad, I would still imagine there will be twists and turns as it takes time for us to find the right partnerships and systems to accommodate our strongest 11. I am still not overly convinced Graham Potter is going to be the man to do the job as well. I just think he lacks that winners mentality. He has been backed significantly now also and will be again in the summer but I am curious how much of an input he really had on any of these players. I’d imagine he was consulted yes but I doubt he gave them a list of those exact players. Either way he has to get results and fast. I am 90% sure he’s not going to win us any trophies though in the next 18 months though but it will probably take him and the club another 2 windows to properly finish this squad off. Gonna have to clear out the players that aren’t good enough or not part of his plans (may be difficult), find solutions for one or two problem positions and ultimately, I think we will add a few bodies who are a bit further along in their footballing development ie. guys around 25,26,27 just to give us a good blend of youthfulness and experience on top of what weve already got. No doubt guys like Koulibaly, Lukaku, Kante, Azpilicueta, Ziyech and even Thiago Silva will leave over the course of the next 6, 12 or 18 months and thats a lot of experience, know how and leadership in certain aspects to loose as much as anything else. We have to hope some of the lads we’ve got and have signed can pick up the baton in that regard also because strong leaders and strong characters are within every successful football team.

We would be looking for our 3rd manager this season if he wasn't here. Has had some big big games and certainly that has contributed to results
-
People been saying this for almost 2.5 years now - wouldn’t get your hopes up. Would assume he will be sold in the summer barring some sort of evolution into a half decent footballer. And people can’t say it won’t have been coming, if TB & co are looking to clear out underachievers then he is probably someone who is near the top of the list.
-
Letting Kovacic go? Smdh. Injuries aside he would be a starter at most top clubs. Considering offers for him would be ludicrous. Even considering offers for Chilwell would be stupid. Why isn’t anyone reporting we will look at offers for Ruben? Getting rid of him is surely a high priority alongside Aubamayang and Lukaku. Particularly if their talking about underachieving players. Does the club only plan on having 4 or 5 experienced players over the age of 27 or what too…. Either way lets hope GP can do something because you cannot say he doesn’t have the tools now.
-
Cucurella and Werner top players? And specifically meant this window. The post I quoted indicated players were willing to come here now than wait to go to City in the summer yet City weren’t linked to one of the players we signed except for *apparently* Andrey Santos.
-
Utd had to get special dispensation for it I think. Not sure if we’ll be requesting the same for Enzo. Ronaldo obviously a huge brand as much as anything else so having the number 7 essential to him and his brand. Think your right for the cup tied numbers though.
-
Na cant change it once Bettinelli registered with it here unless he left. Unrelated but much prefer the Spanish league numbering system 1, 13 and 25 should be for GKs - don't get why they haven’t implemented it in the PL or most leagues.
-
Finally a video of him playing some forward passes lol. Still, bit lucky with the assist but nice to see he can actually play a bit quicker and forward more although I still think he’s going to find the PL a whole different level of fast. Technically still not overly impressive though but doesn’t mind getting stuck in. Suppose a good loan in the summer could fasten his development because he doesn’t look PL ready for me.
-
I would’t get too excited and start going OTT completely though. They’re still the favourites and most likely to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer who is better than anybody for age in any position and also signed Haaland last summer, who again is better than most CFs out there. Pep is still just as big a pull as anybody out there these days too. And the only 2 top players we’ve signed under TB is potentially Enzo and Raheem Sterling, looking at who we’ve actually gotten its more guys with big potential than top top players. But yes we’ve beaten Arsenal and Man Utd to Mudryck and Gusto. Not that I wouldn’t of expected us to do that anyway under any ownership. I mean were we ever in direct competition with City for any of the guys we signed?
-
Welcome! Lets see how he gets on, would imagine maybe need a few games to get up to the speed of the PL although hopefully not. Has impressed in CL and WC though so hopefully he keeps doing so here
-
Nah hes not that bad a player. Will do United for 6 months - he’s only injury cover. Probably not too dissimilar similar to Eriksen but a bit more rounded in the other side of the game. Think he’s actually a smart signing. Which you wouldn’t associate with Man Utd in previous years, they’d of gone for Isco or some of these other players thrown at then yesterday in days gone by.
-
Depleted of a midfield player of his skillset/traits anyway. Kovacic only one who comes remotely close and even then, he’s not that similar. Plus is he going to be fit enough to be relied upon the rest of the season? I know people said Jorginho’s sale isn’t linked to us trying to sign Enzo but I think it is. I really do. It just strikes me that the club jumped the gun thinking they’ve strong armed Benfica into such a position so set Jorginho’s sale in motion as they didn’t think it would be an issue. Remains to be seen but trying to play possession football without someone capable of dictating a game naturally is going to be awkward. And its not as if the football isnt awkward enough as it is. Wouldn’t pin my hopes on Andrey Santos either, barring his goals for Brazil u20 - which has heavily influenced how well people think he has done at the tournament - he looks very very ordinary. Needs a loan for sure.
