Expect him to score at least 15 goals next season. Need a striker who can get at least 15, who knows we might win the league this season if he can and we manage to concede as many as we did last year.
-
or maybe you did say... lol missed that

Always positive when he comes on. Same when he came on against PSG when we beat them at the Bridge. Always looking forward, to beat people when he can, to run in behind, to go on the outside as well as the inside when he can to add variety. Hopefully he starts against France on the left, Debuchy leaves a lot of space when going forward so this would be ideal for Schurrle (or even Podolski) to exploit. He must score at least 10 PL goals next season though as well as adding more assists but I feel that will come, hes effectively as good as a striker in front of goal at times, works the keeper most times.

Stupid stupid stupid decision by Mourinho. For another year or two he has shit loads to offer, homegrown, big game player, lots of experience, poor decision by Jose, the board and Roman to not offer him a new deal. If he could have been convinced to take a squad role I generally believe he would have because he knows he's 33 and is coming towards the end. I'm sure he'd have prefered to have that sort of role at Chelsea than somewhere else unless hes going to be playing every game in the MLS or somewhere.

You have to look at how many experienced players we will have in the squad next season without him. No Cole, no Lampard, probably no Eto'o, as well as the chance that Cech could be sacrificed for Thibaut Courtois. Tiago has been there and done it, a great free transfer, in fact hes actually a very good player to be honest even at 30 odd. This squad, as I said in another thread, will have a good mix of youth, players in their peak and older players because in a squad you need that. Ferguson had players like Giggs, Scholes, O'Shea, Solskjaer, at United when they were in the latter stages of their careers to pass on experience to younger guys and play when needed to play. You can't win with just kids because they need time to learn and improve, I generally believe that you need a good mix of everything in a squad, to come through big games, suspension/injury crises and also when the younger guys are in bad moments the older guys can perhaps step up and lead the way setting an example for younger players.

You've said this about 49 times without giving a valid reason. Explain..
-
Sure there are moments Suarez dives but like all good players, not just Suarez, they are clever with their bodies getting themselves between the opposition and the ball and win fouls. I don't like this diving carry on you see or when players get a little kick or something they are on the ground doing 500400640 rolls to try and get the opposition player booked as well as win a foul.
-
What you want him to dive and also roll about for fucking ages when he gets fouled? Ok. There are ways to buy fouls, like Suarez does very well when he gets his body between the ball and opponent or like Eden does do by constantly making the opponent think hes going to take the ball before taking it away from him but to ask Eden to fall down for minimal contact like you see in Spain with players and roll about for ages like various players in Spain/Italy/Portugal is ridiculous.
-
Watching the games Chile have played in the World Cup you see how much of a complete player he is which isn't always as clear to see at Barca. Really impressed but do we really need him with Willian, Salah, Hazard and Schurrle competing for wide places in the team? Probably not.
-
The guy still has a lot to learn. Even if hes there for 10 or 15 years or not you still remember hes only 18 right now. If he was available for cheaper than 20M and we resigned Ash incase we needed him then sure I'd have been happy to go for him but 30M? Thats ridiculous. I get the fact we need an English core but overpaying with FFP being more and more influential on what clubs can do in the transfer windows, its better not overspending.
-
40M ? Nearly as good a deal as we got from PSG for Luiz. Sure Shaw is a good young player but 40M is laughable. Moreno/Rodriguez are both better and would cost 15-20m max. Who are the idiots doing the transfer side of stuff at United since Fergie left? - Nani and Valencia got new contracts on big wages - Rooney got a massive contract worth 300k p/w - Fellaini for 27M - Mata for 37M (I'd have paid that tbh) - now Shaw for 40M
-
A year at Sunderland is better than playing 5 or 6 cup games though. I think he will need 2 seasons on loan anyway, hes very raw still.
-
He started out on the LW for Porto then moved to the right after Hulk was sold but hes been used more centrally for Colombia and Monaco.
-
Finally started adding a final ball and goals to his game the last 2 or 3 seasons, great to see as he has all the talent in the world when he was 18 or 19 but his final product was inconsistent. Not surprised at all at how well he has done for Columbia and the fact he has has either scored or been directly involved in nearly all their goals just shows how he is probably the most important player to Columbia and not Falcao.
-
Can see us setting up next season with 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1 whatever you want to call it. Courtois Ivanovic - Cahill - Terry - Luis Matic Willian - Oscar/Rami - Fabregas - Hazard Costa
-
Had a mixed game, when he was dropping deep into the pivot while Fellaini pushed up, Russia where getting through the middle of the park easily enough. I think that shows the thing about how he wouldn't have been a very good pivot player for the fact he lacks the defensive side of his game.
-
Well he didn't particularly seem bothered with our midfield at the start of the season as he only signed Marco and then he brought Matic in in January and now Cesc has signed. Marco's gonna be fit for the start of the season, Ramires is staying, Mikel is staying, he might not want another midfielder.
-
Yeah but if we gave 3 players for 1 then sure Pogba will play where Ramires did but then we have to go and replace 2 other strikers (and maybe even buy another CM because who knows if Cesc will play deeper or a bit further up) when one of them is 21, nearly has 50 PL goals in 2 seasons and will be a very very good player in a few years. Sure Torres wages would be nice to get rid of but squads win you titles, not 11 or 18 players but 25 players, just imagine the injuries/supsensions we could end up with, I'd rather have a really strong squad than the best 11 in the league and a shit bench and depth. Anyway I couldn't see Mourinho getting rid of 3 players (where hes already said 2 of them are gonna be staying next year) to bring one player. Also the 10M thing, I read it wrong.
-
Higher ceiling? If Bale gets half as good as Ronaldo then I will be shocked. Bale isn't even better than Di Maria in my eyes. Cahill was partly only so good last year because he had JT next to him as well. I mean look at the difference when he plays with Jagielka for England, they were all over the place against Uruguay because Jagielka isn't as good a captain or as good at organising the defence as Terry is. Or as good a CB either.
-
Yeeah but you are not Mourinho and we all know Mourinho is the sort of guy who will look to improve an already strong department of the team if he can.
-
True but hes a young guy, hes still gonna learn.
-
Yeah but I am talking about we would be given them 3 players we paid £88M for plus another £10M for ONE player if that sort of deal happened. What the fuck is the point in that? Sure Torres isn't great, Ramires had a bad half a season and Lukaku isn't exactly excelling at the World Cup but still cmon what would be the point in giving them 3 players and money to get one player????
-
The only club in Germany that isn't a selling club is Bayern Munich, business or not they will sell eventually. No club wants to sell their best players but they know eventually it will happen if they have a very good player. Various examples all around Europe from the last 5, 6 or 7 years. Hazard, Benzema, Ronaldo, Kaka, Oscar, Ibra, Thiago Silva... etc all sold because the offers were very good or the players had outgrown their clubs like Hazard & Benzema in France. All the teams that sold those players as well were bigger clubs than Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg even sold Dzeko a few years ago as well so it shows they might not want to sell but if they get a decent offer they will.
-
Well you consider Ramires cost 20M, Lukaku cost 18M and Torres cost 50M so you want to give them 88M worth of players and another 10M? That is pretty stupid.
