He knew what he was doing but hes come out looking a bit daft for saying such things about our strikers and I think hes trying to make out he knew nothing about it being 'recorded' which I doubt very very much.
-
The fact he demanded 75k a week to stay at City when he was 19 or 20.... surely he must not have had that much a ego thinking hes worthy of that wages... no?
-
Lol he was good but you remember Arsenal had 10 men for however long and didn't try and pressure the ball at all so he had the space and time to play those passes. Sure hes a great player I'd take him but not just because of tonight where he played well against 10 men trying to not pressure the ball...

Sure since when has one MF player managed to stop players like Ribery, Robben and Muller who constantly interchanged and popped up wherever they wanted to? Would like to know, even Sergio Busquets the best holder in the world struggled against them in the next year when they played a much more disciplined style before they reached the final. They created 34 chances that night against us, a team Robbie set up which we were happy to let them come and shoot from 30 yards out and try to create a lot of 'clear cut chances' when it was obvious they would struggle against a very low block. I'll say it again, Mikel gave his best performance for us that night and I stand by that hes our best holding player since Maka. Sure he didn't play in the Europa League final but we were abysmal in the Europa League final, MF was all over the place, had no real control on the game at all so to say that him not playing in that game is justified or even trying to hint at it is a stupid move given how bad our MF was.
-
Maybe his final ball isn't poor but 0 assists in nearly 30 games for a winger I would tend to say it is but I suppose I haven't seen much of him other than the Europa League and Champions League as well as some Olympics games for Egypt but that was close to 2 years ago. Still though I think its wrong to blame him for the City match, he came on for a bit and couldn't get into the game as well as most of our team. Hes a young lad, Mourinho will mold him into the player he wants him to be and I'm certain he'll be a very good one.

Mikel is still our best holding player, not getting into any arguments with anyone who disagrees either. There is a reason why hes been playing for us so regularly under so many different managers since he was signed and that we have never looked to replace him*. When we see a Chelsea midfield player play so well against a massive European team like Mikel did against Bayern in the biggest game in the clubs history then we will talk. Best holding player we've had since Maka and I stand by that. *also don't say to me Matic was signed to replace Mikel. Matic was signed as we were short in CM in the first place, the fact that we got rid of Essien too was a major factor as well the fact Lamps is 35 and can't play every game in a position where he has to be very disciplined.
-
Hes still got to evolve as a player as hes only 21 or 22, his final ball is very poor and he is erratic in front of goal at times as we've seen in the game vs Newcastle but he has all the similarities to Arjen Robben who Mourinho helped develop into a quality player. A wee bit of time is needed. Sure we could have spunked out 30m and perhaps should have on a much more ready player but we didnt.

Lets put it this way David Luiz is an inconsistent player, he can be good one game and terrible the next. There is no average performances its one or the other. Mourinho has identified his faults hence why hes struggled to be a regular for us this season and its looking like the Juan Mata scenario all over again. Luiz is a lovable player, passionate, always smiling and all but Mourinho will sell him if he wants to. Mourinho's striving for as close to a perfect team as it can be, he sees Terry and Cahill as his best CBs right now (based on how often they've started together especially in the bigger games). I think Luiz will be sold and replaced in the same way Mata was I think. Mourinho runs the transfers, not Abramovich or Emenalo as much now, hence why he was allowed to sign 32 year old Samuel Eto'o, sell Mata and replace him with a much more 'Mourinho profiled player' in Salah. Zouma will probably come in to replace Luiz next season I feel either that or we will get another CB, especially if he can offload Luiz to Barca/Bayern for a fair whad of money. I mean it speaks volumes when your 'world class CB' is playing in CM while Gary Cahill is playing ahead of him in his natural position.

Without Aragone we wouldn't have seen Spain win as much in that particular style they play and potentially Barcelona under Guardiola excel so much with a similar philosophy. Like Cruyff someone who has truly had a greater influence than what many believe in football. RIP.

Will any youngsters make it at Chelsea anymore?
OneMoSalah replied to duo11bluecl's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Tbh the manager should look at young players and go 'I want him' so in say 3 years he'll fit into his philosophy and he won't have to be loaned out 4030403 times because a manager isn't particularly keen on him. When you have a director of football or a scout picking every young player and them being signed without a managers approval its hard for them to make it as the manager could not be entirely keen on them in the end. If you had say Mourinho going I want to sign player X so in 3-5 years he will be 20 and fit my philosophy and be ready, then fair enough but we don't have that. The changes in managers every few years or however many every year hasn't helped any of the youngsters, if Carlo was still here Josh would be more of a regular player I feel. -
Na not if Ivanovic was crossing, he'd score 0 goals. But yeah he'd be a good signing.
-
Why? You probably assume if Draxler came here he wouldn't start ahead of one of Oscar or Willian, correct? He'd probably get games as hes a very good player with massive potential, he doesn't just play as a 10 he can play on the left side and Hazard is just as capable to play on the right. He wouldn't start ahead of Hazard but one of Oscar and Willian, I imagine he would. How does this mean people haven't learnt a thing about the Mata and De Bruyne situations? KDB didn't adapt and mentally struggled as he wasn't first choice (which was quite right as he wasn't as good as Mata/Hazard/Oscar/Willian/Schurrle) and Mata wasn't fancied in his prefered position where he had been effective for 1 and a half seasons in the end by Mourinho. You're just trying to make out your right without given an actual reason other than Draxler won't come here to be a 5th option when theres no guarantees he'd be that 5th option as hes good enough to start for us. I mean Salah might not even be 4th or 5th option, he might get a run of games and do what Willian did and end up starting for a while. There is no guarantees in this team really.
-
Lol how is he automatically going to be 5th choice? People think that if player X and player Y came here they would automatically be 5th choice. They wouldn't....
-
Who gives a shit, Neymar is a scumbag and so are fucking Barcelona. They get what they deserve.
-
Would be a great signing. Such a rounded player, will be just as good if not better than Schweinsteiger. If we can get him, then go for it.
-
300k p/w at United, kind of deserved if you consider hes on 220-250k p/w right and hes been their best player this season and in the last 10 years arguably their best player behind Ronaldo even though Rooneys been their longer.... don't see the shock tbh given he's been outstanding for United since moving there...
-
Why aren't we demanding Rooney in this deal for Mata? What the fuck is the point...
-
If he gets the #10 jersey holy fuck
-
WHERE IS THE FUCKING LOYALTY DID YOU JUST FUCKING POST THAT..... HOLY FUCKING SHIT. Did Mata want to leave Chelsea in the summer? No. He stayed and fought and adapted his game. Did he want to leave Chelsea this month? Maybe but he had a massive shove towards the door by Mourinho. Hence why Jose is so keen on letting him go for only 37 fucking million. Fuck it I'm done with this thread, nearly all the recent posts have been utter bullshit about a lack of loyalty or whatever, if you think that he wanted to move so badly please have a fucking word with yourself.... he was pushed out the door its so fucking blatantly obvious. EDIT: Wait Mata is a super talented mercenary? Fuck me you are stupid. Please do not reply to this either or my head will be destroyed by all the bullshit you're spouting like 'Mata is a super talented mercenary' and 'he should have just cut out the love bullshit from day one' holy fucking shit. Anyway good luck Juanny, hopefully you'll be appreciated at United in the same way you once were here but don't score against us. Or you'll turn around to United and tell them to fuck off and stay that would be nice.
-
Would be a better signing than Salah. By a fucking mile even though Salah is a good wee player hes not quite at Draxlers level.
-
Best players in two years? Mata has been the best signing we've made in fucking years since Lamps, Drogba and Makelele imo. Also in terms of talent (bar Hazard who will be better than Juan for sure) hes been the best we've had since Zola. In fact you know what, Mourinho is right then, I'll just leave it at that. Shows how little people have appreciated an immense player who has been outstanding for us since day one until the start of this season. Idiots.
-
Ozil is worth more than 45m euros and if Madrid weren't so fucking stupid they would have asked for more, same with us. If Bale goes for 90 odd million an inferior player to both Mata and Ozil then surely they should be worth more no?
-
Course we are gonna moan, we've just sold the best player we've had in years to fucking United for something like 40m which isn't his worth imo. Whats not to moan about? Jesus fucking christ. What happens if in say a year or two Mata goes and inspires United to win the title ahead of us? Everyone will then jump off Mourinho's fucking cock. Sure Mata isn't a Mourinho player but hes a world class player and will improve any team as we seen when he came in when we were relying on fucking Malouda and Kalou to play LW and Benayoun as a #10 at times... Mourinho is a top coach but he's made a massive fuck up selling Mata to United of all clubs. If your gonna sell him, do it to PSG, Atletico or someone who isn't a domestic rival.. I don't rate Sturridge but this is like the Sturridge situation but with a genuine world class player. Mourinho has completely written United off this season as title contenders and for the next however many years surely if Mata goes there. Sure we've done some stupid shit in the transfer market (Signing Torres for 50m, Sheva for 30m when he wasn't wanted, Benayoun, Marin, selling Robben etc) in the last however many years but this tops it all I feel. Imagine if Benitez had done this, then everyone would be fucking angry but since its Mourinho its ok..... and before anyone posts saying 'Mata isn't Chelsea FC' or 'Mata isn't bigger than Chelsea'.. I know that but neither is Mourinho. Also anyone saying Mata wanted this move too must be brain dead or something, hes blatantly been frozen out and has to move to guarantee himself regular games. We could win the league this year still yeah I will obviously be happy but you also have to consider we have genuinely 'gifted' United a world class player for 40m.. who is better than all their attacking midfielders/wingers... I'm here to fucking moan about this sort of shit, get used to it
-
Best player we've had in years and we sell him to United. Fucking ridiculous. Good luck Juan...
-
Its stupid because he can't even lace Mata's boots. Mata isn't the profile Mourinho wants but hes still better than every other player we have except for Hazard possibly, we are selling Mata so we should replace him with someone just as good so we would still have a very good squad. Salah is good but hes hardly a touch on Mata.
