I don't think it's about the line-up we put out but rather the mentality of the team. If we go in there to park the bus like we did in both games in the league, our chances will be very low. We need to attack City, fight for the midfield, not just hand it to them.
We're a spoiled bunch, aren't we? We should be thankful that we have a chance at silverware in this competition. Although I don't agree that this is more important than the FA simple because of the prestigious and historical nature of the FA cup; in fact there was a time when the FA cup was more important than the league in England. But you're in a competition to win it, that's what's football is all about. If we're not careful with the "top 4 is more important than the cups" mentality we'll be turning into Arsenal soon
I wonder why most of our new members create a new thread about themselves, but then leave and never post again.... @Stingray, Never mind Stingray, he has some 'issues' Anyway, welcome to TC, mate. I watched the replay, and I must say, I don't think our performance was that bad. Especially in the first half where I thought we some good spells, got into great positions and were unlucky not to score. The second half was a bit more scrappy. Tbf, Sunderland defended very well and with great determination as you would expect in the manager's first game in charge. All in all, it was a crucial three points.
I was too lazy to write it, but I meant something like: Cech, Iva, Cahil, JT, Ferreira, Mikel, Lamps, Hazard, Benayoun, Marin, Torres. That's what I meant by 'similar'.
I like Ross, he seems like a very nice guy who's always joking around. But I also think that my 85yo neighbor is a nice guy, doesn't mean I'd like to see him play in goal for Chelsea!
He's done very well, but if we're going for a ball winning DM I'd rather Yacob, tbh. Admittedly I've only seen Schneiderlin half a dozen games, but I think Yacob's distribution and tactical awareness have been better. His role is WBA's great season has been immense, imo.
