No one is blaming Torres for failing to score in those games in particular when Jose went all defensive. It's the easier games where he misses easy chances and gives the ball away often that he most gets criticized for. That said, I was one of the people who actually defended Torres a lot this season and thought he had a better season than most gave him credit for. Still, no where near good enough to be our first choice striker if we wish to be one of the best teams in Europe..

That's the thing, though. Jose does not consider Ramires to be off form because he judges on different basis than we do. We tend to judge him on separate incidents in matches that stick in our memory after the game like a few missed passes or a hopeless shot. But I think Jose judges him on what he wants from him: Dynamism, energy in pressing, tactical discipline...etc. I think if Jose can have two Ramireses in the pivot, he wouldn't hesitate for a second.

Actually Eden never takes his eyes off the keeper and never even glances at the ball to give no indication. He waits for the keeper to move to choose sides and if he doesn't he just goes with power on either side.

On a related note, last week, Roman's company (forgot which one) signed a huge sponsorship deal with Vitesse (well, huge for the Eridivesie). It looks like we really want them to dominate Dutch football and get into the CL. A feeder club in the CL would provide a huge experience for our youngsters.
