I have an incredibly shit memory, so I might be imagining the whole thing, but didn't we loan him out to Milan? Anyway, if anything, Torres is an argument against the point that was being made in that he was given way too many chances because of his price tag even though he was painfully bad. I hope we've learned from that and would not repeat no matter the cost of the player.

ooooh! Look at you with the inside info, Barbs! RE Juve: They never force players who want to leave to stay. That is true historically. If he really wants to join, he will most likely be allowed to.

What heartless bastard moved this to ex blues??!

Can I just say, as someone who follows the Serie A weekly, some of what's been said about him is mental. I get that people will have very different opinions about players, but it's usually within a certain margin. You can't seriously say he's worse than Kurt Zouma! Now, I'm not saying he's Fabio bloody Cannavaro, but he is a German international. He's quite clearly a capable young defender. As for the comparisons with Manolas, they are very different players. Manolas is more of an aggressive traditional defender while Ruediger is more of a modern defender with great technique on the ball and a better football IQ.

I'm happy about this signing mainly for all the potential puns about his first name! Anyway.... I know a lot of people would be upset, but I'm perfectly happy with Willy coming in this early.... I'm going to log out now!

This is the first post that came up when I clicked this thread Very funny to watch it now, and also a good reminder that it probably very good that there are calmer heads in charge of the club than the average fan.

Getting pretty much destroyed by Deulofue (sp?). Keeps showing him inside for some reason! Because it's an U21 match? He's controlling the tempo for most of the match brilliantly. Did it even better against England. It's hard to find a player at his age with such flawless decision making on his passing. Reads the game very well as well.

Regardless of all the inside sources and 'reliable' journos, this transfer makes sense. We want him more than Juve don't want to lose him and Juve can't match us for wages. It would also make sense for Sandro to want to move to the EPL and join the Brazilian players in our squad. I think, logically, this is more likely to go through than not.
-
He's been excellent for Germany, but surely anyone watching this tournament will say that Max Arnold has been the stand-out player. Just controlling everything for Germany and excelling both offensively and defensively. What a prospect!

Problem with loans is that the clubs we loan to have little interest in giving the players a chance and helping them integrate. Usually, unless they hit the ground running they are removed from the manager's plans.
-
Knowing Diego he'd probably try to elbow and stamp on the U7s....

I think a move to Torino would be ideal for him. It could be good for us as well if we manage to insert a buy-back clause.
-
The formation clearly did not suite him but he was massively disappointing. Even in instances when individual talent was required he did not get it right which is surprising given the season he's had at Vitesse. I think he needs a step up from the Dutch League, maybe a PL load, to prove that he can perform at a higher level. He can't have a career from just being great at set-pieces. He needs to show more.

Did you read the other side of the story, though? Because all the articles I've read quote the people who were thrown out and no one else. Obviously, I've no idea what actually happened but the organizers' side of the story is that they were not thrown out because of the star of David but after they expressed support for Israel which would make sense because they were apparently part of A Wider Bridge. IF that is the case, the organizers are 100% right in my book. As far as I'm concerned, Zionism has no place in leftist spaces as much as antisemitism.

To be fair he was isolated for the majority of the match as England were out-played and had to put 10 behind the ball for most of the match. But I do agree that he's a limited player out of no fault of his own. I hope he proves me wrong but he seems like a decent mid/lower table striker who just doesn't have that extra bit of quality to play at the highest level.

2-2 now. Proper semi final this! Beautifully set up for a late winner. Hopefully Tammy or Lewis get it.

I'm certainly not trying to change your mind about this. It's just that there are many Christians and Jews who interpret it to mean that homosexuals should be killed. I'm just glad you do subscribe to that interpretation. All religions are interpreted in different ways by people who all believe that their interpretations are the correct ones. That is not the point.I'll defend your right to believe whatever you want as long as it does not infringe on other people's rights and liberties...

Nonsense! According this forum the best LB in the world is Filipe Luis! Speaking of, can we please not go down that rabbit hole again and start making similar claims about Sandro? He's clearly a very good player who's** evolved well and has had an excellent season with Juve, but he's still got a lot to prove before he seriously starts to be mentioned in the same breathe as Marcello and Alaba. EDIT: **Who's as in "he has"! The internet has destroyed my knowledge of grammar...

But you're more than happy to discriminate against them and advocate to have their rights taken away. How tolerant! What does "throw out" even mean? Where do you stand on their rights to marry, adopt, have sex, not to be discriminated against when seeking employment, health care or simply a wedding cake?? Point is, don't pretend that you care about LGBT Jews when there is a news story that can be spun to fit your political agenda and then complain about hypocrisy!

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I want to believe that this is an indicator that Christensen is set to be given a proper chance here next season.
