What would be the point of signing Mahrez? We've already got Eden and Pedro and Willian as backup. You can't put two of Pedro/Willian/Mahrez on the bench.

Mate, we're likely ending up with no one today. I get why Conte wants Drinkwater so he can have the option to switch to 3-5-2 when needed, but surely that should not the top priority!

Can't fucking believe we went the entire window without buying a wingback. Whomever are in charge of planning and getting deals done should lose their job asap.

I hope it's true, but I really doubt that we can turn our attention hours before the window closes and get the deal done in time.

We're literally hours away from the window closing and there aren't even any whispers of us being linked with another wingback.

Because we've left it this late and obviously have no backup plan even though a wingback should very clearly have been a top priority this summer.

In my mind, this makes perfect sense. We absolutely needed someone who can play wingback and we definitely needed that someone to be homegrown. And who better to fit those characteristics than Kieran Gibbs?!

He's clearly still adjusting to the league (though the ref today was practically taking the piss all the fouls he was not giving him). He's also still also building chemistry and learning how to linkup with his new teammates. But his movement is absolutely world class, inside and outside the box. And the way he attacks the ball with his head could be taught in academies. Definitely need to see him contributing more, but can't complain with 2 goals and 2 assists in his first two home games!

Need to take one of those chances and put it to bed already.

You get the feeling that Morata and our attack in general, despite being good so far, can still go up a level or two.
