Madrid lose to Barca. Is this the same team that blitzed Liverpool at Anfield? Honestly think that if out defense doesn't goof up or suffer injuries, we'll be fine against the lot from Madrid.
-
And 2 of those 9 from Havertz were penalties, lol.
-
Tbf, the 2 of them acted like absolute morons., and Willian was sent off for handling in front of goal
-
It was a battle of two T-Rex armed keepers. A fitting draw as a result.

It's weird, because prior to joining Chelsea, he was known as a manager that adapted to tactics and opposition. Ever since he came here., it's been a case of throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. Before the win streak, it was endless games with Ziyech. After the switch to back 3 and his acknowledgment of results being everything - he adopts a formulaic⁶ approach of getting a lead and protecting it with the same defense-minded subs. He needs to be smarter in these situations - especially in our crunch CL fixtures. Really hoped the recent win streak would reveal a new Potter and team - but same ugly heads showing up again, looks like

That's true if you just look at the goals, but the subs are what put us on the back foot. 1st sub. Removes an attacker, brings on a midfielder with poor technical ability. We start ceding possession and give away corners 2nd set of subs. More defense minded. First RLC, then Chukwumeka and then Chalobah. No attackers. We concede anyway, and no longer have an attack to fight back.
-
1-0 cruising at 60+ mins and he brings Gonner Callagher on. Why?
-
Useless sub bringing Gallagher on. Put us on the backfoot and now we don't have an attack to fight to put us back in the lead. Sensible thing would be put him back on the bench and bring on another attacker, because he's useless
-
Yeah the odds are firmly stacked against us. The annoying thing like you said, is that there's no respite even after making the final, because it's likely Napoli emerging from the other half. Again, tough odds
-
Hopefully Gusto can be an able deputy in the RB., and alleviate our concerns about James. But its just typical that he also got injured right after we signed him, lol.

While I accept Mount has been horrible this season and is pushing himself out the door, I just don't understand the hatred from our fanbase towards the kid. I mean, he's been a huge part of our only meaningful trophy win in the past 5 years, and has had decent stats for an AMF even if it's against shit teams. Now people praise Felix (who has been here only 3 months) and Gallagher as if they are supreme world beaters., when those two have had less than remarkable seasons in the past years. I'm including Gallagher in the comparison because he's only a year younger than Mount. The fickle minded nature of fans these days is just bothersome. Thank goodness social media wasn't as rampant back then. Players like Drogba would have received a lot of hate during the period of 2007-2009, when Mourinho had left. He probably wouldn't have stuck around to become the legend he has been for us.

Also, please look at the date of my post 😅 Fofana was out injured then and there was no telling how he would be upon return. And KK and Cucurella were in terrible form at that time.
-
Let's hope it stays that way.
-
It might be ages before we see another player like that.
-
Speaking of Liverpool- Madrid, it must be annoying for Madrid that away goals aren't worth a dime. Scoring 5 at Anfield should have deservedly put them out of sight. But as it is, it's just a 3 goal deficit. They came close to choking against us last season. Let's see if they've learned from that.
-
Not saying that Madrid can't hurt us, but the way Liverpool were ripped apart was mostly down to some awful, at times comical, defending on their part. It even prompted Carragher to say that he could still do a job for the current Liverpool back 4.
-
Playing either of Inter or Benfica would be interesting. Benfica because of the Enzo connection, and Inter because of Lukaku. Both of them will be playing with some venom against us.
-
We will probably lose both, because neither of them seem to want to stay here.
-
I can see them easily winning 3 out of those 5. If they win against City, that'll seal the title IMO.
-
The biggest issue he still needs to sort out is how the team presses when they don't have the ball. The organized press is still lacking and that results in our defense being put under pressure more often than needed.
-
Gallagher started plenty of games under Potter. There's a reason he's gone back to the bench.
-
Potter using the form book well. It's looking like all all his team needed was a win to have lift off. 3 wins out of 3. Hopefully they can carry this form into more games against the top half of the table.
-
Full credit today. He played well.
-
I hope he starts the next game, only to see how long he can keep this bit of form going. I don't care if he even fails to get on the scoresheet. Just maintain a steady 80 or so minutes of good performance, and don't go missing around the halfway mark. He can praise Potter all he wants, but the best way to repay the faith of the coach is to deliver on the pitch.

Is this site reliable? Seems like lazy speculation to me., like a prediction made by someone who hasn't followed our last couple of games.
