Hoping we seal the deal before Spurs act.
-
Sigh. Wonder what's taking long. They didn't take this much time when officially announcing Potter or Lampard.
-
I can't believe people are trying to big up Potter after this mess. Make no mistake, Lampard is worse than Potter. But the chief reason this squad has turned into a sad bunch of morale sapped hippies who struggle to score is because of the stint Potter had in his several months here. He took away the ruthlessness you need to have as a top club. Lampard as manager is just icing on the cake.
-
And Glen Johnson also adds that it depends on the nature of the visit and the talk. That's what people were questioning., not that he went to the dressing room. Owners can go wherever they want.
-
True. Let's not get it twisted. Roman HAS visited the locker room, but mostly during the good times. If we were on a poor run of form, he would probably show up on the training ground at Cobham the next day, but that was it. And it's fine in Roman's case. But after you have a disaster class of managerial appointments, Boehly would have been on thin ice if he decided to lambast the players. Or even pick individuals for criticism. Maybe deserved, but who likes to see that happen in front of colleagues? Even they would feel uncomfortable with a toxic atmosphere like that.
-
Lol..I keep joking that he has a better record against Arteta than Tuchel did. Imagine if history actually repeats itself
-
For the first time in a long time we had a spine again in the team with Costa, Hazard, Fabregas, Kante and even the maligned Courtois. Conte went ahead and mucked things up with Diego., replacing him with the mentally weak Morata. Never recovered fully since.
-
To top it off Boehly and co. have even reinstated the physio they fired last year. Shows how shambolic their decision making has been. They really need to make amends next season
-
Digging up an old post of mine from this topic. In hindsight, yes, sending Gilmour out on loan was a waste. At least he's at Brighton now.
-
All this argument about selling or keeping players at this point, is moot. I'd like to see how this squad performs under a competent manager first. Almost all our squad is playing below par, and they've all been managed by a bunch of flatfoots for an entire year almost.
-
By law of averages, we should end our losing streak at some point before the end of the season (even under Lampard). Would be hilarious if we get our first point under Lampard in this fixture. Ironically Lampard's record with us against Arteta is much better than Tuchel's.
-
Ironically, this would be the game to sit back and soak pressure. Now, watch the opposite happen.
-
I hope you are right. I just don't see it.
-
What next? Lukaku gets a second, sorry third, chance? Can't believe this club is making one stupid decision after another in a streak of stupid decisions.
-
Hope he doesn't choke like he always has, then Can't believe this guy is conning people into thinking he can do something productive. At least Mount could score against Madrid when in form.
-
Ironically, Mourinho is the reason why I think Pochettino will do great things. If a serial winner like Mourinho can look so bad at Spurs, Pochettino must have been doing something right.
-
Well then let's hope they have at least 'unofficially' decided on it.
-
Why not at least announce Poch officially? Doesn't help that there's still so much uncertainty going into next season. Doesn't help players or fans.
-
All valid points. All said and done, it's still year one under their reign. But they are really making a meal of this first year. A lot of the damage has been self inflicted, with them being seemingly oblivious to how stupid some of their decisions have been.
-
I wonder whether he went into the dressing room again to speak.
-
WTF are him and his cronies waiting for. Just get a real coach in now. Or announce it. They're probably hoping for Poch also to slink away so that they can appoint the Australian coach they always fancied.
-
Or at least make an official announcement FFS.
-
The players are very certainly sticking it to Boehly and co for mucking around with the managerial appointments. And for storming the dressing room Oh yeah., you'll keep hearing interview saying that 'we let down the manager'. But make no mistake, this is what happens when they have zero faith in the management. Stop mucking around and get the new manager in. Getting sucked into a relegation battle is real risk.
-
I said. And lot of others said it. Hiring Lampard as an interim was a crackpot decision. If we were going to appoint an interim, we should have got a decent one. If there was none available, go for your final managerial choice. I feel bad for Lampard too. He needed to go to some place with a lot less pressure and rebuild his coaching credentials. Not jump back into this cesspool.
