Ditto.. 2 attacking mids and one holding...Start of last season, Lampard himself said he preferred that kind of formation
-
I wasn't referring to our last game in particular...just speaking generally.. Also...if the players are to be believed, it was the manager's teamtalk that turned that game around.

I personally Don't like booing either...but people can express themselves if they want to..if they have the right to make noise when cheering, they can boo as well...
-
People have a right to boo...but the situation has to call for it... If we're 2 goals down and don't look like scoring, its understandable You don't boo a team when its a goal down, and fighting to get a result.

Wow! He already trained with the squad?! How did that happen so fast....

Oriol: "I don't intend to go back to Spain" from here Even if its true, I hope he doesn't change his tune in a few years..

" AVB...making each game as easy as ABC".... what.... it can't be much worse than what's already posted here...

Cool, let's wait then... like we always have
-
Oh ok...shame he's still messing around with the reserves...better than not getting any game time I suppose...
-
Just wanted to confirm...is Josh injured or something? Heard something like that on one of the news forum, and supposedly that's the reason why he never featured in the first two games....
-
Please say that he's going to join, O' Serbian Oracle

What Lampard is still good at: 1. Goal Scoring. 2. Killer pass in final third, that is when he's in the final third when the ball arrives there. 3. Stamina What he has lost: A bit of pace and speed, which is why his vertical/forward passes tend to get intercepted at times because they are late. This is why, he tends to give more sideways/square passes than usual and tends to lose the ball when harried. Its also why he doesn't reach the final third on time because he's the one who usually starts the play from the middle of the pitch,. In my opinion, he can still put the first two plus points to good use, provided the support in central midfield is good enough to set up the play. The other option would be to play him in a holding role. Not bad,but this would effectively prevent his goal scoring runs. However, he would be encouraged to use more of his long shots which aren't too bad either.

Same here...provided we're a sure bet to beat the other two teams in the group.

Something to be cheer about...Alright!

Hi there!! Plus, Here are a few tips to get positive rep around here: 1. Say that you want to bench Drogba and Lampard 2. Say you want Malouda, Kalou(shouldn't be too hard) and Anelka to be sold, or simply join the anti-Kalouda community. 3. Diss the mancs and scousers...(not the gooners, they're having a bad time) 4. Call Ron Gourlay a dinosaur. 5. Call Levy a cu**t

That's what I was thinking as well. I don't care if the team is through transition, I just don't AVB to get the sack when he's only laying the foundation. That being said, I wouldn't mind too much if we don't top the league, but it's essential that we don't finish potless.

Even with so many options I'm a bit peeved about our "forwards" situation. Torres seems to be playing with his heart out, and very well deserves to score. But even with his improved form he still hasn't a got a goal. Its only been two matches but Anelka and Malouda have found the net so there's something wrong. Lot of people talk about the team around him being bad, so what do you do? Transplant the rest of the team to suit just one man? That's not going to happen according to AVB. Remember what he said about the team functioning as a unit, and that he didn't care about individual records? Then there's the Drogba issue. Everyone, AVB included, seems to be in universal agreement that the two strikers can't play together, which is why you never see them start together. Personally I think he's just rotting away on the bench, with hardly any game time, but I suppose no-one will care if Torres or someone else starts scoring regularly. From the looks of it this seems to be the end of the Malouda-Anelka-Drogba combo. It was pretty good during the end of the 09-10 season and the start of the 10-11 season. When it started to fail, I've always put it down to the fact that the backup within the squad wasn't good enough, or simply, like in Sturridge's case, wasn't used well enough. Now we have more than just backup. We have replacements in the form of Mata and Lukaku. I just hope these additions, together with Danny, can link up just like the old MAD combo, because 4-3-3 isn't going to be of any use otherwise. Then again, the entire problem might be with our central midfield..maybe we need to use Josh like Utd use Cleverley. I'm sorry if the post seems too negative...I'm probably just irritated after watching that Manutd-Totten'am game, seeing the manc forwards linking up so well with the rest of the team... I hope things start getting better with our next game...

That's cuz everythings gone tits up.... ...sorry about that misplaced attempt at humor...I'm just depressed about this whole thing.. ......(except the Mata signing of course) .

Torres awarded Man of the Match award vs Stoke

Torres, without a doubt -
He's a self proclaimed utd manc fan...what do you expect?
-
I don't like criticizing other teams much, but honestly just compare how AVB has dealt with this transfer, and Mancini claiming to sign Nasri within the next 48 hrs...

Hilario awarded Man of the Match award vs WBA
Blue Armour replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Look, we've seen Hilario in a lot of games and if its one thing he does have it IS confidence. Sometimes too much of it. Last match we nearly had a hilarious moment when he came charging off his box all the way to the half-line to pick up a ball that Ramires was going after. If that had gone wrong I'm sure he wouldn't be getting so many votes today. I don't mean to undermine him, but yesterday's performance was what you would expect from him. Nothing spectacular.. But I guess that's more than what a lot of people here were hoping for anyway in Cech's absence, -
Hilario awarded Man of the Match award vs WBA
Blue Armour replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'll admit he pulled off one or two good saves to keep it at one-nil,but it wasn't like he was bombarded by shots throughout the game...He was fairly standard and good enough for a stand-in goalkeeper.. Anelka was brilliant in my opinion...In the second half he was the best part of our front three, showing flashes of his (now mostly forgotten) incredible pace... -
Totally agree...I remember one instance when Kalou was dribbling in front of the d box, he could've threaded a pass to Fernando, and instead proceeded to take a shot...I could even see Torres cursing in the background.. Am a massive Didier fan but felt he came in at the wrong time, and shouldn't have been in for Torres...Might be a nice idea to play Didier as a sub-winger in 4-3-3 rather than change the system to 4-4-2 and confuse the rest of the team when both play together..Josh/Yossi should've come in at some point.... He got the win though, so I can't complain any more....
