  1. Well considering some of his OTT performances...
  2. Combine the two and we get a Wenger crisis
  3. Yes, Sloth. A year closer to twenty than he was a year ago.
  4. From what it looks like, the shell of the old power plant is going to be used as the facade, while the actual stadium is going to be adjacent to it.
  5. Which is why I suggested keep Drogba, loan Lukaku, get new striker and if necessary sell one or two other players.
  6. There is a long list of players on the way out this season, excluding Torres. If I had my way, and no this isn't due to hindsight, we would have signed Aguero in Jan or at least give Danny more opportunities. That, and keep Drogba as the experienced backup. And regarding your latter post, how can you be so sure? Why not bring this new striker in, loan out Lukaku, and see if he can deliver? Or better yet, why not just bring that extra piece we're missing in midfield and see if our front line can perform better? Look, I know he's nearly 35 and isn't going to be around much longer, and with that I'm running out of arguments in favor of keeping him here. But, I still feel we should not give him up in haste, not when he can still deliver for the club
  7. No. Its pretty clear that in order to bring another quality striker in, we may have to sell one or maybe two other strikers to do so. The question is, why does it have to be Drogba that leaves? Don't give that bullshit about him eating other players up. Torres didn't play well during AFCON, but he scored a hat-trick when Drogba was there on the bench against QPR. It has nothing to do with having another competing striker eyeing your every move. The only instance you give up a good player is when you know pretty damn well that you'll have someone to step up, or at least grow into his shoes once he leaves. Name that player you have in mind, and I'll agree.
  8. Going to reserve judgement on him.. Wish he was played in better games though...Came on when losing against Man Utd, came on when losing against Arsenal, and came on today in one of the crappiest games of the season.
  9. Face it mate, with our lack of options on the bench, one of them is bound to play at some point.
  10. I suppose he's pretty good if he has the power to attract goal-kicks towards himself...
  11. Seriously, what a classy bunch of goals for Liverpool..
  12. All warnie666 stated was that Torres tries hard at defending but is not good at it. For example, the two-footed challenge against Swansea which got him a red card, and then there's the goal he nearly gave away when he came on against Barcelona (thankfully ruled offside).
  13. Not vouching for his place in the final, but he did put Man City to the sword, scored against Liverpool as a sub and also created trouble for Evra and co. when playing at the bridge.
  14. Most of the time under DiMatteo, he has started on the left wing, except against Arsenal and N.Castle. Ironically he scored from there against QPR. The obvious con is that he might lose the mentality of a striker, but the team is more important now at this stage.
  15. Bring him back. He seems to have lost his skill, and will soon lose his sanity.
  16. Of all of AVB's strong points, motivation wasn't the best of them imo. As far as Scolari goes, the less said, the better. Besides, he was out with a knee injury for a significant period during Scolari's reign and when he came back, the team's form was in shambles. Not too different was Ancelloti's last season. Only difference was he played through his illness, and recovered a semblance of full fitness only by Feb.
  17. Its not like he didn't contribute anything before that this season. Fact is, the guy needs to be motivated to do something. If the manager can keep him interested, why not have him as a squad option?
  18. He was tossed up into the air quite a few times. The guys's just more laid-back, when compared to Hiddink or Ancellotti. Same goes for Mata and Torres.
  19. You could say that, but when even the 2nd choice keeper doesn't play much in a season, that kind of exposure a 3rd choice keeper gets would count for little. I do think Hilario should be moved on though. He's become a bit injury prone this season as well.
  20. Its always good to have at least one experienced keeper as backup...I would have preferred Cudicini, but Hilario's not bad either.
  21. Ignore it mate...I've been doing that since this Feb for obvious reasons.
