  1. True,..that's another thing I can't forget...
  2. I'm getting really psyched for this game, and a bit too sentimental..I guess the after effects from our last confrontation still haven't gone. Really went through a swirl of emotions on that night.
  3. There are few strikers of repute that are out there right now, and none of them come with small transfer fees. Of course, the way I see it may not be the way Roman sees it, so who knows?
  4. It is not paranoia. I just doubt whether the club can get to pick and choose someone to replace him, with all the financial restrictions coming into place.
  5. Cavani's an interesting player, but yes Lukaku shouldn't be overlooked. If Romelu has it in him, he could save this club a lot of money.
  6. He's our highest ever scorer in this competition. Would definitely love to seem him lift it with us.
  7. I'm well aware of why he has to leave soon. I just don't know if we should do so without knowing if someone can take up his mantle once he does leave. For instance Man Utd had Rooney to take over from Ronaldo, Barcelona had Messi take over from Ronaldinho, but do we have someone of that level? Arsenal never got anyone to fill in for Henry, (at least until RVP when he became fit for an entire season) and well, we can see the results of that.
  8. Sometimes I just can't believe that we're about to let Drogba just walk away from the club. You don't get a player like that too often. I still remember how John Terry remarked at the start of the 2009 season, that Christiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United and us holding onto Didier would prove key. When it comes to these players, what separates them from the rest is not just the skill and the ability, its their attitude. From the current crop, Danny Sturridge looked like something special at the start of the season, but I'm not so sure at the moment. He may step up in the future, but who's going to be our big game player next season?
  9. Well, not all their posts are bad...there's a bit of respect here and there: Maybe we should try something just like Napoli?
  10. Haha, don't be so cruel. And am actually in LA now...but there's plenty of nutella here as well!
  11. Nice Article However, I still don't buy the fact that AVB just wanted to do away with the old guard; he always started Drogba upfront whenever he could, for instance.
  12. In a game like this I'd doubt any player will not play to his best. Malouda's a good choice, as he will track back..but I don't know if he's the same player that frustrated Dani Alves in 2009.
  13. Crossed my mind as well, but who will be the midfield enforcer to replace him? It would be great to have a fully fit Essien right now, but I'm not sure of his mobility. It's most likely going to be a 5 man midfield with Lampard and Mikel playing deep, with Meireles and Ramires upfront on either side. The fifth will most likely be Mata, and Torres/Drogba upfront. But if RDM really wants to gamble he could drop Mata and play Drogba and Torres together. One to hold the ball, and the other to run with it. The other option is to take one of Drogba/Torres and play a fast player like Sturridge /Kalou to take advantage of the high line Barca usually employ. I'm also concerned about the back four. Will it be Ivanovic or Cahill for CB? Cahill is still short of European experience, especially for this stage of the tournament, but he did face Spain this year right? If Bosingwa could play like it was 2009 again, I would definitely put him in RB. Brana was skinned for pace the last time he played RB against Barca, and it was our Portuguese who had a better outing. But of course, neither player is like what they were then. Will be very interested in seeing the lineup for Wed's game...
  14. I feel his corner kicks are a lot less wasteful than Mata's tbh...
  15. Even if it did cross the line, they wouldn't admit it...Daily Mail for instance, has a most convincing pic on their match report and they still state the contrary. The media are just a bunch of gossip mongers.
  16. Its worrisome for Danny, as Kalou seems to be starting match after match. Can't deny Kalou's contributing in a small way in every match, but surely there's no way he can play the full 90 mins of every match without doing something significant?
  17. That tells me you haven't watched a lot of his fk's. Of late he's been slamming more into the wall. Hardly better, I know, but at least state facts rather than just something to validate your points. Anyways, well done DD. I will never forget your contributions this season.
  18. But that's not the point, is it? ...Rodger's claimed he knew Josh as a player very well..so he obviously know what he's getting. Plus, he was clamoring for him to join. Instead he goes from being backup for Chelsea to being backup for Swansea.
  19. Drogba refuses to go quietly into the night ... What a player,...Hope he gets to start at least one leg against Barca...
  20. The thing that annoys me the most, is that with the way Rodgers was practically begging him to join back in Jan, you'd think Josh would slot straight into their starting 11...and now he just makes the bench.
  21. I don't know but it seems to me that the loan move is all about experiencing a new team and nothing more. In other words, a massive waste of time. If Josh were to come back, he'd do best to a bulk up a bit in order to make up for any shortcomings in his physical attributes, which I feel is the main reason why he's being denied more playing time.
