  1. Same here, mate but I guess it was just never meant to be. I still remember the first time they linked up was in Torres's first match in blue colours against Liverpool. It would have also been his first goal if it were not for a timely slide tackle from Carragher. The second which you should remember was Mata's goal against Wigan. Drogba crossing to Torres who volleyed it, only for it to bounce off the crossbar, yet thankfully into Mata's path.
  2. This. That's the main argument in favor of RDM. In West Brom, at least when they started, they were known for their brand of attacking football. Due to the squad restrictions it was logical that RDM made defense and keeping possession the highest priority. With attacking options that are becoming increasingly available next season, I'm very curious to see how this Chelsea team can perform under him.
  3. I did. Felt a bit for Joe Cole as well. Others like Carvalho, Anelka and Deco have at least once lifted that trophy during their careers, but not these two. Still, you have to remember that there are other extremely good players that have never won it in their careers.
  4. For now, I'm going to imagine he never did that or gave that interview. It detracts too much from the win, Drogba's departure and other important things that can occur at this crucial juncture for the club.
  5. Drogba can play himself right? Why need another actor?
  6. I don't think they ever had a bad relationship. They're just two different characters, with Drogba being more of an extrovert and Torres, less so.
  7. I think the crowds should still sing that during matches, to intimidate the opposition.
  8. I hope Didier, and when the time comes, JT and Frank, return to the club in some form or the other to take it on its next adventure...If those three ever decided to form a management team, it would be unstoppable.
  9. True, targetmen with skill and pace are indeed a rarity (and a luxury) in football,That's why for all the Heskey's and Carew's you only have one Drogba. Still there are others with potential. With the right manager and the right mentality, its possible to mould a similar sort of player out of someone else
  10. Well, I don't think people really notice that. Its just a kit. They know only 11+3 players played at most, and they'll just assume the rest put on a blue kit to make a good photo finish.
  11. You're saying they shouldn't have, or are you trying to point out that they all did it for the sake of JT?
  12. So what? I'm just saying everyone else in the squad came out in their kit, so why should Terry alone wear an orange top?
  13. Tbh, nearly everyone in the squad (apart from Kalou who was shirtless, lol) came out in their kit. Makes for a better picture, I suppose. And no, I don't think anyone will forget he didn't play. That was one of the challenges the team had to face in the final, right? Playing without their captain?
  14. Home Depot Center (LA Galaxy) Saw this beauty live, while sitting right behind goal:
  15. @3:47 His uncle said that he will always strive for the European cup. I saw this back in Feb when AVB was still there after the Napoli defeat and thought then that the moment had gone..But now, bliss.
  16. Rio Ferdinand:" I did say Lampard + Drogba would score!! Congrats to Chelsea on winning the CL"
  17. Drogba would be the first to say that without Cech and Lampard, we would have been in deep waters. Remember the penalties he conceded? If it were not for the rest of the team, Drogba wouldn't have the platform to perform like he did.
  18. According to Martin Tyler, RDM was born in a German-speaking part of Switzerland...seems to have a bit of everything in him, DiMatteo...
  19. Lol..that was Tomo-91 and what he called the 'Fluke show of 2005'...
  20. Someone should make a video compilation with both finals....Drogba stepping up to take the penalty he couldn't in 2008...incredible.
  21. Scratch my previous post regarding his contract extension...whatever decision the big man makes, I'll be happy with it.
  22. Drogba: "I want to dedicate this cup to all the managers we've had before, all the players I've played with before."
