  1. Won't say Torres had anything to do with RDM getting fired, well obviously you could say his poor play led to his firing. But directly behind it, i don't believe it. But you can definitely say he benefited greatly from RDM firing, and the same for AVB sacking for that matter. Under both managers, their confidence in Torres was completely gone, AVB sparsely used Torres in his last days, and under RDM the west brom was the turning point. Lucky bastard he obviously gets a clean slate with the new manager, and especially under Rafa. Things are not going to be any different under Benitez, if anyone think Rafa can get Torres back to his best then that is more false hope, Torres beyond a doubt is past it, his speed and acceleration was his biggest attribute and that is gone. Torres is similar to Essien and Kaka, where their best asset has deteriorated because of multiple injuries, under no manager can that be reversed.
  2. Well that was boring absloutely nothing on tactics and formation . Dumb jurnos asking pointless questions.
  3. Why would she be gone she is part of the medical staff.
  4. Going past the emotional part, my biggest concern with Rafa is that he is tactically inflexible and stubborn. At Inter the players did not fit his system, and he didn't attempt to play to his players strength. He wanted to make drastic changes to the squad and bring players that suit his system, and Moratti was not interested in that. I am afraid he might have the same problem, we have a talented squad no doubt. But the players we have don't necessarily fit into what he did at Valencia and Liverpool. He must show adaptability and try to get the best out of our players and create a system friendly to the players. If he tries to force the players into his tactics and system then i feel Rafa as an intern manager could be a disaster. RDM had the same problem imo, he didn't know how to utilize the players we brought over the summer. He didn't attempt to change his 4-2-3-1 formation and which was why he kept on reversing back to playing a defensive winger.
  5. I hope to see a positive reaction on Sunday, especially from our supporters at SB. Lets give Rafa a chance, do it for the players at the very least.
  6. Not when it comes to Chelsea. But hey i am not going to stop you, you can believe what you want to believe, but you are mistaken to be so sure he will be appointed. As for Rafa? I respect him as a tactical manager and i regard him up there with the best in the managerial world. But he would a terrible fit at Chelsea, if he doesn't win immediately supporters will quickly turn on him. He is already hated at SB, so it wont take much for things to get gloomy at the bridge. Secondly Rafa is quite simply a control freak, it is only inevitable that he would clash with Chelsea hierarchy.
  7. So media speculation is what you are going by. Going by past hiring, they always get it wrong. Expect the unexpected from the Chelsea board.
  8. Am i missing something, did Benitez get appointed?
  9. Source: http://www.itv.com/s...d-to-be-a-team/ Well said.
  10. I always been an admirer of Werder Bremen and Schaaf attacking football(Marin-Ozil-Hunt were really fun to watch back then), i think it would be ideal for him to replace KDB at Bremen next season. If they are willing to take him on.
  11. Forwards in 4-2-3-1 needs to be defensively adequate, it is not optional its mandatory for a team to play this formation. A few of our problem will be solved if RDM changes our formation to 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1.
  12. U really have to ask? His username gives it away.
  13. All those are valid points, but it still doesn't make them that different imo. Cavani is still more of a poacher then a complete striker like Benzema, RVP, Ibra, Aguero, Suarez, etc. I feel both players strength and main ability are finishing and poaching ability, neither player are really going to hurt you with their dribbling or passing to make them that different.
  14. Cavani does not differ that much from Falcao tbh, they are both pure goal scorers.
  15. Could see him debuting against Leeds if we are well in control in that game. Would also like to see Clifford make his debut in that game if the opportunity arises. TBF from some of the u21 games i saw from last season Bamford actually looked better then Lukaku in those games. Lukaku was actually struggling against u21 players. Lukaku is the better athlete without a doubt and yeah i would agree they are not comparable atm. But to Bamford credit his skill set as a striker is much more polished and he has a much better first touch(a very underrated skill) and he plays with so much awareness + intelligence. Would like to see him sent out to a Championship side in January.
  16. Would like to see the return of Ancelotti Christmas tree formation personally, would believe our squad is very suited for that.
  17. How did you come to conclusion? Oscar is our best Maestro when it comes to controlling the game from the no.10 position, he is vital in our midfield and key in taking the possession battle. Just take the Swansea and Liverpool game for example, after he was subbed the opposition enjoyed their most successful moments in possession. Mata and Hazard both have been better in the final ball and creating goal scoring chances, in this area they have been much better. I would rank them in this order when comes to distribution and orchestrating the midfield: 1. Oscar 2. Mata 3. Hazard I hate these Oscar vs Mata vs Hazard discussions and usually don't care to get involved, but what you posted is completely wrong.
  18. Would have been Mikel+Witsel in the pivot, Witsel+Ramires is too unbalanced neither have the discipline to play as a no.6/holding midfielder.
  19. Sneijder? out of form+ high wages+ injury prone+in his late 20s. Seriously what is to like? If we go after another CAM i would recommend Lewis Holtby. His contract runs out in the summer, and wants to play in England. I really enjoy watching Schalke play, and Holtby is their best player and he has been one of the best player in Bundesliga this season in fact. In any case i would like to sign him so no other English club does.
  20. His pace and strength can cause havoc against tired defenders.
  21. I think the only thing you could draw from Sturridge goal, was the fact he put himself in a position to get picked out by Mata, while Torres choose a poor angle. I think it is well documented that Torres makes poor runs and doesn't find himself in goal scoring positions. Here is an article by WAGNH on Torres poor decision making in creating chance situations. http://www.weaintgot...fernando-torres Tbh at that point i was still on the Torres bandwagon, i thought he had done well in enough to be the man leading the line, even though i had some doubts. So at that point asking for Sturridge over Torres would have been unwarranted. Since then i have lost a lot of my confidence in Torres, as every game passes by Torres gets worse and worse. While it has gotten to the point where it can't get any worse by playing Sturridge. So it is understandable for people wanting to see Sturridge. I think you are also aware that some players make great super subs while others don't. Remember before he went to Bolton, the consensus of Sturridge among Chelsea fan was the same. He failed to make any impact in his sub appearances and was deemed not good enough, while we all know what happened when he started games after game at Bolton. Anyway i believe he deserves his shot.
  22. Moses played over 30 minutes in each of those games. Not comparable with Sturridge coming on at the 82m or 88m. Plus you did really well at fluffing his performances in those 2 example.
