  1. Guess we’ll find out very soon how determined Xavi has been about Chelsea and only Chelsea as has been reported time and again. Or whether he just got extremely annoyed/frustrated that we have been dragging this on for over a month with no movement and Spuds have turned his head. Convinced him that he’s the key to them becoming a top team or something.
  2. He’ll go, but will it be on loan or for good is the question. Maybe that’s what Matt Law’s report is all about. Jackson could go to Bayern on loan but that likely means no money for Simons. But we could be slow walking things in hopes that Liverpool comes back in for Isak and Newcastle then use that cash for Jackson for big money. Then we can sign Xavi. The interesting situation is that Xavi is now in London trying to push through a move. Would he do that unless a move is imminent? And if a move is imminent can it actually be us as long as Jackson is here? Hopefully we get some clarity ASAP.
  3. This is what I’d like to know. Can we proceed with both Garnacho AND Simons with just Nkunku going or will we also need to get a big fee for Jackson in order to sign the latter?
  4. Unless it comes out that Fermín is like £20m cheaper than Xavi it makes no sense to go for him instead. Xavi has been desperate to join us all summer and we have terms in place. To walk away now when he is in London forcing things would be crazy.
  5. This is my feeling. No sane player is going to choose Spuds over us if we are still pushing, surely.
  6. Brother, could you imagine if after all this painful waiting and negotiating and reporting that “Nkunku is the key to Simons coming to Chelsea, once he is sold Xavi will immediately go to Chelsea,” that on the day we finally conclude a deal for Nkunku, Simons instead goes to a hated rival? 🤣🤣 SURELY not?!
  7. The question is whether we’ll be able to sign both Garnacho and Xavi if it’s Nkunku sold and Jackson only loaned. Haven’t really seen any reporting on whether that’s doable.
  8. United fans on RedCafe are desperately begging for the Garnacho deal to be cancelled because Amorim may be sacked and he’d have a way back into the team. 😂😂😂
  9. If true he’ll do really well there I think just like the other former Chelsea boys Pulisic, RLC, and Tomori. All of these guys weren’t good enough for a top PL team but in Serie A they can boss it.
  10. Ok. I thought they wanted Nkunku back as a direct replacement for Simons.
  11. Hasn’t it been reported that Nkunku has to go specifically to Leipzig or the Simons deal doesn’t happen?
  12. Wonder if we’re dumb enough to include a sell on with Garnacho. That would make an already underwhelming deal pretty shitty. One of the positives the pro Garnacho people point to is that we can always sell him for profit in the future. Well, we can’t if we give United a sell on percentage which we’ve done with several deals recently under Clearlake.
  13. Think you’re spot on regarding Jackson and Nkunku. The club may have badly overestimated how much other clubs would value these two. We probably figured we’d be able to comfortably make near what we paid for Nkunku and probably thought that with so many clubs super desperate for a striker that we’d easily be able to double our money on Jackson. After these things didn’t happen all summer we have then started to hope that clubs like Newcastle or Villa would get really desperate and just throw money at us. But even that hasn’t happened. Other clubs are calling our bluff.
  14. After all this excitement we’re actually going to end this window with only fucking Garnacho. 🤦‍♂️ With us having been after him hard for 2 straight windows he better come in and be amazing. Otherwise the supporters should hound the directors out of the club for spending a combined almost 100m on what look like 2 bang average LW’s.
  15. Exactly. We’re probably still demanding twice what anyone would ever pay for him and that’s what’s holding everything up. Same with Jackson. We’ll end up keeping Nkunku, loaning Jackson, and probably getting only Garnacho this week. Which would turn this from a very promising window to a super underwhelming one.
  16. Can’t even blame the player at all either. We’ve been dragging this on for ages at this point. It’s going to be all about Nkunku. If we can’t just finally fucking get Leipzig to take him we’ll still get Xavi. If not he’s going to Spuds. He will thrive under Frank and slot seamlessly into that team. Then we’d have to watch what we could’ve had for years to come. Cannot let that happen.
  17. If we chase Xavi Simons for months and not only don’t get him but let him go to arguably our most hated rival then I don’t even know what to say.
  18. Writing Gittens off as a complete bust after a couple of appearances is silly. Saying that he already looks underwhelming isn’t going over the top, though. Because most of us thought that before we even bought him. I’m sure he’ll be “okay” in the same way that Madueke was. Which for £55m is really stupid business.
  19. The Jackson to Bayern stuff rumbles on. I just do not see how a loan does us any good this window. Even with an obligation to buy next summer. How does that help us buy this week?
  20. It would be pretty fucked up if we’ve been negotiating for and telling Xavi all summer that we really want him, agreed personal terms with him, and had him rejecting a bunch of other big clubs so that he can come here and then we switch to Fermín instead at the last moment. Especially if we were to end up paying a similar price. If we had never been linked with Xavi Simons at all and Fermín was the first choice all along I’d be happy with him. But it would feel like a huge letdown for me personally if we don’t get Xavi now. I think he instantly slots in and hits the ground running and he reportedly really wants to play here. With Fermín you’re signing a player who’s probably super sad and reluctant to be leaving his boyhood club. Who knows how he’d take to the PL.
  21. Just had a look over on Barcaforum to see what they think of Fermín Lopez. They’re mostly really against selling him and think the reported €50m is far too cheap.
  22. Better for us he doesn’t stay in the league though, no? If he kills it at another PL club whilst Gittens struggles we’ll never hear the end of it.
  23. Kinda crazy to me that things aren’t super “hot” so far this week and that we’re apparently going to leave things to the last minute.
  24. Does kinda look funny how Fabrizio hasn't heard anything about us and Fermin whilst Ornstein has whilst Ornstein has never said anything about Xavi when Fabrizio talks about him constantly.
  25. Looks like the opposite is happening. 🤦‍♂️ Garnacho is the priority rather than Xavi.
