Well worth it if we won 3 titles over the span of his 5 year contract. Think he's good enough to help us do that.
-
I'd probably go De Rossi. We showed last year that we can get goals from all around our squad. We were. Overrun far to often in midfield, so De Rossi for me. I want both please! Dear Santa....
-
Can't see the 20m figure being quoted being accurate if we won't improve the offer. We can't possibly think they'd sell him for that. Think the 28m story is more believable.
-
To me, it looks like they were planning a deal with Bale to be completed closer to the end of the window, but our bidding for Rooney has forced their hand and made the signing more urgent.Think about it. What player do you bring in to appease the angry fans after you've sold Rooney to Chelsea? Bale or CR7. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
-
Don't think he'd be flying across the world for just any transfer. This may be big. Bale possibly? It would be just like these bastards to capitalize on us bidding for Rooney by getting an expensive signing in the same day. Then Rooney would stay and it would be a double blow to us.
-
Can't see how or why Barca would sell Fabregas after just losing possibly their best youngster. And why would Cesc leave knowing he'll play a bigger role this season?
-
Even if it is for Fabregas, isn't Cesc's preferred position in the #10 role? He'd be Ronney's replacement.
-
How's MvG looking?
-
So they lie and say we offered the two player who our fans love the most. Fucking assholes! Now I hope more than ever that Rooney kicks up a fuss and puts in a request so we end up with Rooney AND keep Mata just to shit on them.
-
Don't think I could ever get over this deal if it were to happen. Seeing our best player in a United kit? For this measly fee? Literally makes me sick.
-
Absolute MADNESS if we give up Mata. Mata + cash!? Are you fucking kidding me? If Bale is worth 80m, Mata is worth 85m.
-
Obviously a sensationalized headline but true including wages and likely transfer fee. Rooney is one of, if not the most marketable global footballer, so making that money back in shirt sales and whatnot shouldn't be a problem. Everything seems to be aligning for us here. No other top strikers available so this is our chance to act and bring in one of the best players in the league in a position we need. Rooney & DDR and we'll be one hell of a squad. I may almost feel bad for some of our league opponents next season if these two signings happen. Almost.
-
We've just about run out of options and some of you still wouldn't want Suarez. If the man who he bit forgave him, than I think you guys can as well. He would MASSIVELY improve Arsenal if he went there.
-
Negredo and Jovetic in addition to Aguero and Dzeko. Nice selection for them once again. Pretty crazy how City already have such a crazy expensive squad and have gone out and spent another 100m. And notice how only one of them is a young player. City are obviously heavily focused on winning in the immediate future and don't have NEARLY the promise as we do long term. Still think City are ever so slightly ahead of us until we make one or two more additions.
-
Exactly. Ibra would be a 1 or 2 season signing. Perfect for Lukaku to play with and learn from. We'd absolutely PISS the league if we signed Ibra. Would only happen if we sold Torres though. Really hope there's nothing to the City link.

I do think a player who actually chooses to go to the French league like Falcao did lack ambition. Cavani pretty much went to PSG because it was his only option other than staying at Napoli. No one else was willing to pay his release clause. At PSG, if they don't win the Champions League, no one cares because winning the French League is so meaningless these days. With the absolutely staggering amount of money their squad costs it makes their domestic league an afterthought. The standard there is low, so if they don't win the CL their season is really a failure. If a player has the option to go to Real/Barca/United/Chelsea ect and chooses to go to the 5th best league in Europe, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
-
Ibra, you know what to do!
-
Agreed. But they'd also be 2 or 3 times the price.
-
Can't see it mate. Cruised the league last season and won the treble and have now added 2 of the best young players in world football and a manager who's won countless trophies. It'll be interesting to see how Pep incorporates everyone and makes them all happy. And to think they'll be getting Lewandowski for free next season... We may see back-to-back-to-back trebles! Bloody hell!
-
So.....what will the points gap be between Bayern and the 2nd place club this season? 30?
-
But if we went to a 4-3-3 Mata would be pushed out wide. While he's still an effective player on the wing, he isn't at his best there. It could work against some teams, but I don't know if I want to see Mata out on the wing trying to deal with Zabaleta for instance.
-
Exactly what I wanna see.Ramires or MvG playing games next to DDR with Lamps playing lesser opponents or coming on as a super sub. We'd go from having the worst central midfield at the top of the league to one of the best with DDR here.
-
If Rooney and Suarez aren't possible, then yes please. If all other options are unavailable then I'd take one of the all time greatest strikers who's still world class. For 1 season, why not?

I love Twitter. But at the same time I fucking HATE Twitter.

The trophy had a United crest etched into it pre-match and they lose it. LOL
