Just the thought of Mata playing one of his signature picture perfect passes through to RvP makes me cringe. Yes, if we got Rooney it would improve us, but it'll also improve them. If giving them Mata is the only way to Rooney I'd pass.
Just FYI, the definition for Chode you guys are probably laughing at isn't accurate. Still funny. We here in the States call that...area "gooch" A chode is a dong that's wider than it is long.
Isn't he more effective as a pacey, tricky wide player? Why all of this talk as if he's another #10? Don't think my heart could bear seeing our Juan in a United shirt. I'd seriously cry.
Could've sworn there were quotes from him just yesterday or something saying that he'd agreed to go to Spuds? Maybe this'll also mean NO MORE OSCAR OUT WIDE!
Fair enough.Just believe that we could improve our team by bringing in literally any of the DM's we've been linked with. De Rossi, Matic, Khedira, Kondogbia, Witsel. Any of those players offer far more than Mikel does.
He's a physical beast and one of my favorite Chelsea players, but he's got that Luiz factor where every single time he goes for a tackle or goes for the ball in the air I hold my breath. Almost like a yellow or red waiting to happen. A ticking time bomb.
Can you really see Jose selecting him ahead of Lamps, MvG, Ramires, or even Essien? Mikel doesn't really offer anything that the others don't.May as well cash in while we can and replace him with a player who can contribute much more.
Anyone else find the number of long balls we play annoying? We have all of these flair and possession keeping players, yet we still heave the ball up to an offside Ba over and over again. When Luiz plays we see it even more. We just bypass our awesome midfield and more often than not just give the ball away. Guess this is one of the main reasons Jose wants Rooney so badly. Can get the ball deeper and play closer to the midfield instead of isolated on an island up top like Ba and Torres are.
He just hasn't had any urgency in his play for large parts of these first 2 matches. He looks unstoppable when he actually takes his man on, but that's happened little so far.
United could really fuck us here if they really wanted to, and I wouldn't put it past them either. Say we put in a final bid in the days following the match and United don't accept or reject it. What's to stop them from just waiting until the deadline night and then reject it then leaving us with no one? Think we should either move on to someone else now or make that bid something they'd seriously consider like £40m. Only thing that would make me confident in this happening again is if he picked up an "injury" between now and Monday that would keep him out completely.
BBC reporting that Arsenal are trying to sign Benzema and Di Maria. Can't see them selling Benzema as he's the only senior striker there, but Di Maria is possible I'd think. Think he'd be great for them too. Hope this doesn't work out for Le Arse.
Case and point why Lukaku should be first choice. Like last season, I get nervous each time our opponent crosses the ball. Luckily every team doesn't have Benteke. Edit: Agreed with everyone that Lamps was awful. No way he should start @ United
Hazard has been nearly invisible these first two matches. Just doesn't even try to attack. He just goes at walking pace and passes it off. People are tipping him for Player or the Year and you'd expect him to want to take that next step.
So fucking typical. Dominate the game and then have a stupid defensive lapse at the death. How do we let Benteke stand still at the penalty spot? And goddamn it's annoying watching a side pack the box so we can't find a way through. All of this possession and almost nothing to show for it. Get Lampard off! Been horrible.
