I’ll start to believe we’ve really turned the corner and become a serious team if we take care of business here against Brighton. They’re a team that always give the big clubs a tough game and are a very solid side so far this season. A composed, professional 3 points here and people will start taking us seriously. It is indeed impressive from Arse to be this solid with 10 but for me it’s equally as pathetic from City. They’re probably the most intelligent attacking team since the prime Messi/Iniesta/Xavi Barca team but somehow look completely clueless here. Arse literally couldn’t have asked for a better game plan from City coming out of half time. They can just camp in their box moving side to side over and over again. This sort of situation has rendered Haaland useless, too.

City don’t really have any attacker on the pitch that’s going to be super dangerous shooting from outside the box. Just Kyle Walker trying to pile drive it. All their attackers are the sort that like arriving late for tap ins or cutbacks. Plays right into Arse’s hands. Again, City desperately miss KDB. Or Mahrez in previous seasons.

This is almost one of those situations where City’s walking pace, “we want to score the perfect goal” style of football kind of works against them. Arse will be mostly fine keeping everything in front of them and moving so slowly. This is where De Bruyne is badly missed.

Would be a legendary victory for Arse fans if they win from here.

City have been dead since the equalizer. Zero energy and stopped using their wide attackers completely. And Kyle Walker continues to be a clown when he’s actually got to defend without using his pace. When he’s not in open space where he can use that supreme pace and athleticism he has always been shit.

Savinho looks incredible in this City setup already. Pep just time and time again picks the perfect wide players for his system. Feels like Grealish is the only big one that has been a miss in recent times. City are toying with Arse and imposing themselves physically. Barring an extended injury to Haaland they aren’t losing the league to Arse. I think don’t think Arse will make it as close as last season.

Mitoma looks back to his pre-injury form from what I’m seeing. So we need to pray that Gusto is back fit for next weekend. Fofana trying to mark him is suicide.

Great second half performance after letting our levels drop for the final 20 or so minutes of the first half. Tosin + Colwill as a pairing is SO much less nervy.
