I predict a lot of trademark Sterling far post tap ins for Arse. He’ll be a good depth signing for them. Martinelli can go from looking like a beast in some games to looking like a complete headless chicken pace merchant for a long stretch. So I think Sterling is a solid alternative.
-
It’s definitely a concern, I won’t kid myself about that. But I’m not going to panic yet. If Palace cause them all sorts of problems this weekend I’ll start to worry.
-
Think you should stop raging about the CB’s until we’ve seen a couple more PL matches. If the Colwill + Fofana duo struggle against this relatively easy opening set of PL fixtures then rage away. But I’m holding off on the anger for the time being on that position. Keeper, though… 😬😬😬 The situation we’re in there is inexcusable. I pray that Mike Penders saves us next summer lol

Trev is basically the best possible replacement for Andersen Palace could’ve hoped for. No buy option gives us the chance to bring him back and sell some of the current lot if he kills it at Palace.
-
What a dead deadline day this is for the entire league. Nobody is really doing anything, not just us. Which I suppose is what you want if you’re a well run club. But it’s still boring as hell. All this buildup and then nothing. As of this moment I’m more annoyed at the players that are set to stay than missing out on Osimhen.
-
This is why you NEVER deal with De Laurentiis. The guy pisses everyone off. Buying clubs, selling clubs, his coaches, and his players. Just don’t deal with the bastard after this window.
-
I’ve given up. No striker today. I'm very confident that we will score plenty of goals against inferior team this season with the players we have. Whether we can against the top teams will be the big question. Osimhen being a beast in the air and in the box when you need a crucial goal would’ve helped us against big teams, I think.
-
Yes, I do genuinely think we’ve been planning for a striker this whole time but wanted to leave it late hoping the selling clubs would be pressured to do a deal on our terms. But as we now see that could backfire spectacularly.
-
To chase a striker all summer, know it’s the main thing the side has needed for years, and to end up with only Sancho on loan today would be crazy. It’ll be good that the club didn’t panic and buy some scrub, but still. A long term injury to Nico Jackson and we’re relying on an 18 year old, super raw Guiu and an array of false 9 experiments.
-
Basically, nobody knows fucking anything as of right now and they’re just waiting like all of us are. But the idea of him staying and playing together with Lukaku is hilarious.
-
You may not rate him as such but in terms of how he’s viewed to much of the football world he’s a big time player. Top 10 Ballon D’Or finisher, player of the year in Italy, etc.
-
Offering a “star” player HALF of his current wage is an insult and is embarrassing from us if true.
-
NapoIi have some leverage now but not too much. If we’re now all that’s left for Osimhen and they think we’re desperate they can demand a higher fee. But surely they can’t afford having his massive wages on their books rotting and on the bench when they’ve brought in Lukaku, McTominay, Billy Gilmour, and others. So they can’t push us too hard or they screw themselves.
-
If we are the final remaining possibly for Osimhen, have a free run at him and we STILL fail to bring him in because Napoli dig their heels in I’m just gonna laugh. After we came way down on our valuation on Lukaku. Surely not…
-
Hasn’t been any substantial update on Osimhen since early this morning. Doesn’t look like the Saudi move is happening at the moment but nothing from our end about improving our offer to him either.
-
The United fan meltdown reactions are more fun than actually signing him and working out where tf he’s going to play. If it’s a loan I wonder if it’s a buy option or obligation. There are benefits to both. If he surprisingly performs like he did at Dortmund then a low obligation fee benefits us. But if he stinks up the joint we’re on the hook with a player we never even needed. If he performs super well and it’s merely a buy option then United could then just charge us huge money or sell him to the highest bidder.
-
Still impossible for me to imagine Sterling and Chilly exiled and chilling at home for 4 months until January. They HAVE to go and play football. Likewise Broja. Trev, if he doesn’t go, I feel is the only one I could imagine being reintegrated into the team.

Speaking of American sports salaries, I don’t think people who only follow UK/European sports really realize just how INSANE they are compared to footballers. These days the top NBA stars are going to be making $60m+ per year. The very top NFL QB’s make well north of $50m per year. We think these footballers are overpaid, it’s a different ballgame over here in the States.
-
Feels like everything has gone silent at the moment. Ten Hag even saying Sancho is staying now. With Toney currently doing his medical for the Saudi’s you’d have to assume that if Osimhen decides to say yes to their offer we can just quickly pivot to Toney and use that medical info.
-
As with Lukaku, the club genuinely did think that Sterling was going to be a 100% guaranteed superstar for many years when he came here. So the silly money we paid out for both and the crazy contracts were seen as something you just had to do with top class players. Ironically, exactly what’s currently preventing us from signing Osimhen. They’ve learned from those egregious errors and don’t want a repeat.
-
Would Sancho be an upgrade on Sterling for us? Yeah, probably. Much younger and better able to beat players for fun in open space just like Madueke & Neto which is what Maresca loves in a winger clearly. But the issue is that Sterling wasn’t even playing because there is no space! So why would that be any different with Sancho? Does he just take all of Mudryk’s minutes? I mean, okay, but then it’ll be even tougher to sell Mudryk somewhere next summer if he ain’t playing!
-
Why would Villa let Duran leave today? They desperately need quality depth or they severely harm their chances whilst trying to go far in the UCL and PL. They’ve got nobody behind Ollie Watkins without Duran, right?
-
Going from Osimhen to DCL would be like going from Margot Robbie to the broad working the window at your local McDonalds.
-
I’d rather stick Datro Fofana or Broja from out of the wilderness up front than see us sign DCL. That’s how little I rate him. Would be comfortably the worst signing we’ve made under these owners and it would make us a laughing stock.

Everyone is just tweeting variations of the same fucking thing over and over and over again. “Still no green light from Osimhen.” Thank god this ends today.
