Mikel is utterly pointless and useless in a game like this. Too slow, too negative, and offers nothing going forward.
-
It's like everything is against us. So fucking frustrating and annoying trying to play football against a side who doesn't. They just park 10 men behind the ball and when they finally do get the ball themselves they just heave it into the box. Then they time waste at every opportunity. We have no ideas going forward against parked buses like this.
-
Exactly.I can see this as a boring 0-0 for the first hour or so with West Ham doing fuck all but negating anything we do.
-
Not like he's been off of football for a whole summer or something. I'm sure we'll see him in the second half at least. Hopefully we're well ahead by then.
-
Expected Matić to be in the Hazard or Ramires category straight away where he's undroppable in league games. We can use Mikel and Lamps for cup competitions or as subs. Matić and Ramires should be the nailed on first choice.
-
Hope Carroll doesn't batter our defense with the constant crosses and hoofball West Ham will surely play. Not as confident now that I know Matić isn't starting.

So in other words, they're selling things to themselves? Wtf!? lol City are shady as hell. They don't give a toss about FFP and were one of, if not the only club to object to it. They had a ridiculously expensive squad last season and went and spent another 100m like it was nothing. All due to these super shady sponsorship deals and loopholes. Supporters of other clubs like United and Arse still make fun of us and say we aren't a truly big club, but like it or not we are. We're an absolutely massive, globally supported club. City aren't. Just have a fuck ton of cash.
-
So City have released their revenue figures. Scratching my head at how they could possibly have edged us in revenue. Chelsea is a MUCH bigger club with MUCH bigger global support. PSG as well.
-
Not sure. Could've sworn I've seen it happen before.
-
I'd swoon if we went 4-3-3 with Lamps, Matić, and Ramires with Azpi and Iva as fullbacks.Couldn't see anything other than a win if we lined up like that.
-
Don't really understand why they need him. Another AM? They're more stacked there than we are. They have clear deficiencies in other areas of their squad, yet they're spending a combined £80m on two attacking mids. Puzzling. Özil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Walcott, Gnabry, Rosicky, Ox, and soon Draxler. Seems excessive.

Potentially one of those classic Chelsea matches we've seen over the past few seasons. Everyone picking us to blow a team off the pitch and get a nailed on 3 points but we play like we aren't bothered and concede a stupid goal at the death and lose.Or the more annoying type of match we've been seeing the past few seasons where we dominate a side completely and have 10 shots on target without scoring. We concede a goal completely against the run of play and lose to a bottom table side. We then bemoan our utter lack of clinical finishing.
-
Before fucking United swoop in and offer him the moon we need to get this kid. This month! Loan him back to Southampton until the summer if that's what it takes. Just get it done.
-
Will be totally embarrassing and quite unacceptable if we lose tomorrow. Chance to go top, regain that 6 point cushion over Liverpool, and have momentum and confidence going into our most important and biggest match of the season at City. Hope José puts out a midfield partnership of Mikel-Matic or Ramires-Matic. Don't start Lamps, but instead bring him on as a super sub. Mikel and Matic can suffocate the midfield and allow our attackers more freedom to do more in the final third. Just hope we don't allow West Ham, who have been abysmal lately, to gain any confidence with a good start. Just press them like hell and go for the throat from the get go.
-
Shit day of results.
-
Makes our game even more important tomorrow. Liverpool now 3 points behind us again. We need as much cushion between us as possible since they don't have a cluttered fixture list like we do.
-
Sturridge is playing literally EXACTLY like José wants his striker to play. He cannot stop scoring. Unbelievable that we sold him and still have Torres.
-
Cardiff are not only fucking terrible, but they look utterly terrified of United here.
-
Agreed.Still think they'll make one more shock signing at the end of the week. Hope not. I'd love nothing more than seeing them miss out on CL.
-
Mata starts. RvP is back and starts and Rooney in the bench. Think the United surge begins today. Only hope we continue playing the way we have and they won't be a problem.
-
Yeah, unless the offer was extraordinary and he was really pushing to move I can't see it.Unfortunately, Moyes and the Mancs will be desperate to get a player like him and it wouldn't surprise me if they did indeed offer something extraordinary. It would be like a trophy to Moyes to go to a press conference and say he was able to attract a player from the current best side in Europe. I'm also sure Pep would love to sell him there rather than to José if it were down to us and United.
-
Was never gonna happen this month.
-
Just hinted that there may be more Essien type situations this summer where older players want to move on in order to play more. Ash and Lamps obviously. Also, when asked if he can see Courtois staying at Atletico next season, José simply said "no."
-
Only 24.As someone else said, he's very versatile. He can play across the midfield and has Lampard-esque qualities. Excellent long shot and passing range. Can put in a good tackle and pull the strings to dictate play. Can't see him leaving.
-
Kroos & Matić in the pivot? 8============D~~~~ God tier. Those two shielding the back four and starting attacks from deep? My goodness. The option of having a midfield 3 of Kroos-Matić-Ramires in a 4-3-3. Damn! Does play like the typical José player as well. Can't see him leaving Bayern though, unfortunately. He would fit like a glove in the CM of either us or United next to another top class partner. Have a word Schürrle!
