Not really having this complaint from Maresca if it’s about not feeling fully supporter by the higher ups. Like us, they can see him continue to play weird ass lineups, play players out of position, and stubbornly picking a player like Tosin despite him directly costing us numerous games whilst a superior player sat on the bench. Nobody forced him to do all this stuff. Only legitimate complaints he can have for me are that the club refused him a new CB when Colwill went down for the season and the fact that he has been without Palmer for most of the season which has been unlucky.

When he’s fit and in form like this he looks great. If he can defy the odds and stay like this he’ll be nailed on to keep this place.

João Pedro is allergic to passing the ball when he’s in trouble. Absolutely refuses to do so and loses the ball repeatedly.

João Pedro may pop up with the odd clutch goal every handful of matches but otherwise he’s been hugely disappointing after that promising summer and start to the season. Even having played so dreadfully, had Reece buried that absolute sitter to make it 0-2 we almost surely sit deep and see out that game. Criminal in-game management, terrible subs, terrible tactical setup. If we fail to beat Everton at the weekend I’m most likely going to unplug and and stop watching for a long while.

We go from looking like a team of physical, pressing demons just 2 weeks ago to looking like pathetic, slow, dead on our feet zombies who have no clue what they’re doing out there. We’ve now played 3 straight matches where we look like our players are in preseason or something.

Literally just let him casually waltz into our box unopposed. I wouldn’t be upset in the least if we sacked him tonight. We have suddenly become an absolutely shocking side virtually overnight.

Buildup play has been literally nonexistent and the quality in our attack likewise. Just an abysmal game here from us.

De Catalaere is literally their only player doing anything on the ball and of course we still let him do that.

All Reece had to do was gently pass the ball into the net and instead went for a rocket. That was the game there.

He’s got the potential to be a Rolls Royce of a defender if he plays consistently. He comes in out of the blue and immediately looks solid and comfortable. If he would play more often he’ll only get better and iron out the few little mistakes he makes.

That was one extremely low quality half of football. It’s like we have gone in here with the intent of grinding the game to this super slow pace and let Atalanta tire themselves out with all their pressing and running.

It’s as though we used up every single ounce of quality football against Barca and Arse and have nothing left. Can’t string together any attacking moves at all and our whole team look completely lethargic and unbothered.

We’ll spank Atalanta and then conspire to lose 3-0 to Everton at the weekend knowing this Chelsea side.

It’s criminal that we find ourselves in this position. Teams like Villa & Palace were atrocious to start their seasons and are now above us.

All this money spent since the takeover and we are still just as desperate for a killer #9 three years into the project. Haven’t had a beast of a striker who strikes fear into defenders since Diego Costa almost a fucking decade ago. Just let that sink in. A club of Chelsea’s stature and with our resources and we have 4 strikers on our books if you include Jackson who are miles and miles away from being a 20 goal per season guys. How does that situation improve? None of these look like they even have the potential to become that!

There is just WAY too much variance in levels with our players. Some days some of them can look awesome and others they can look like they’ve never seen the pitch together before. What’s most depressing is that not a SINGLE ONE of our summer buys is looking genuinely good this season. Delap and Pedro who were relatively “cheap” by today’s standards and were looking like super smart buys during the CWC now look like the midtable strikers they always had been. Short of Palmer suddenly clicking back into his top form I don’t see what we do to help ourselves. And he looked super rusty in these two appearances so far which is understandable.

So many players who looked super promising very early on or in the summer now look miles off Chelsea quality. Just like last December when Jackson and Palmer’s form fell off a cliff. We were in position to genuinely push on and put pressure on Arse. With our last 2 fixtures we should be doing exactly what City are doing and look where they are now after an Arse slip up. Instead, we have been left in the dust and will get nowhere near them. Our absolute ceiling is 4th with Maresca and these players. And that’s if everyone else around us slips up nonstop like we do.
