  1. In our football, yes. Not always the case across the pond.
  2. Look forward to laughing at any meltdowns we get in here if Red Bulls win.
  3. It's fucking insane how City (who scored more goals than anyone last season) will sign TWO £50m attacking players in the same window, yet we (who had the best defense) struggled for goals at times and were heavily dependent on a single player and are focusing almost entirely on defensive signings. How the hell can City afford to spend this fucking much!? And we're seemingly adhering to these fantasy FFP rules that have no bite and have adopted a self imposed "sell before we buy" policy. It's all well and good to take this noble approach that we are, and it'll be great if it works like José hopes it does, but not investing properly and showing ambition has the potential to bite us in the ass so hard.
  4. Hopefully ESPN streams this on the app so I can watch.
  5. I agree that it's madness that these kids are going for those prices but if they live up to their hype and talent we'll think back in 5-10 years and think they were bargains. For instance, United fans will look back at the huge prices they paid for Rio and Rooney and rightly think they were good fees for the careers they got from them. You have legends like Terry, Rio, Gary Lineker, Gary Neville etc saying that Stones is legit and will be a potential England captain. We get him in and let him learn under JT for a couple of seasons and under the world's best manager and £30-35m may seem well worth it soon enough.
  6. I honestly don't care what we pay now. I just fucking want him. Within reason, obviously. With Sterling going for £49m and Shaw going for £30m, getting Stones for a fee somewhere in the 30's is just the going rate. Just get it done.
  7. That's exactly what every deluded Everton fan is saying. One dope on TalkSport radio just a few minutes ago said he'd demand £50m + Remy.
  8. Kenwright now calling Stones the best CB in England. This might be mission impossible. It'll probably take £35m AND a transfer request to get him. Not sure either of those will happen.
  9. If we got Vidal I highly doubt Cesc would be the one playing further up the pitch. It would've been Vidal. He'd be the box to box, Matic the DM, and Cesc as the deep lying playmaker. It would be a completely dominant midfield.
  10. Please, PSG or Bayern... City would pretty comfortably have the best attack in the league if they add him. Them having a suspect defense and midfield won't matter with the way the vast majority of teams defend in the PL. They'll blow away teams with their attack like Liverpool did a couple of years ago and may concede a few themselves at the same time. I'd still give us the edge in the title race purely because we'll have a settled side and much better manager.
  11. We have Ramires, Mikel, and now RLC as squad players in midfield. Don't see why we'd ever see Zouma there again unless it's an emergency.
  12. It's borderline infuriating, really.By all accounts we have more money to spend than ever and aren't even close to running into FFP trouble (and that was BEFORE the relaxed rules!). We could easily have gone out and spent £100m this summer and taken our team to the next level. Instead it looks like we've taken the Wenger approach and José has been told from above that he has to work with what he has and spend only where necessary.
  13. Ramires' passing is dreadful for his position. Don't try to sugarcoat it. It was rage inducing at times last season. According to WhoScored, fucking Fellaini who everyone knows is a shit footballer has a better passing accuracy that Ramires. I don't want rid of him at all, though. He's a valuable squad player. It's Mikel that needs to be sold.
  14. I do too. Because not only would we be missing out on a future star, but we'd also allow all of our rivals to have a go at him next summer. We have virtually no competition for him this window.Arsenal and City will need CB's soon and United may fail in their attempt to get a "big name" and turn their attention to Stones.
  15. I think we'll end up paying a fee that'll make people freak out. Just have a feeling. Like £35m or something. If we do indeed do that then I hope he gets loads of game time from the off.
  16. In other words, Everton have made it clear that Stones isn't for sale, we aren't interested in Pedro or know he's off somewhere else, and the Witsel rumors are bullshit. "Doing it with the same squad" as José said is looking likely. Dangerous. Kind of ironic that we had the best defense in the league last season and are after almost exclusively defensive players this summer. Who could've imagined at the close of the season that we could conceivably start the 2015/16 season with Falcao as our only attacking signing? Almost mind boggling how everyone here can realize we need another source of goals from an attacking position but it's apparently not a priority at all for the club.
  17. Wonder why one of the top German teams aren't after him if he's so good?
  18. That's a lot of dough. Still think it'll take Stones saying to the owner or whatever that he wants to go to Chelsea.
  19. How long before someone troll-votes Falcao? lol I have a feeling it'll be Fabregas. Won it all, seen it all, senior player, plays in a position where he influences the entire pitch. Kind of a no brainier.
  20. Yellow last season was nice, this is better. Gonna get a Terry home shirt and a Fabregas away shirt myself. Maybe a Matic third kit if I can find them cheaper than the official site sells them for.
  21. Was always going to be the case.New TV money means that the smaller teams can't be forced into selling anymore. At least not nearly as easily. Stones will probably have to make his situation untenable there for us to get him.
  22. If it's true that we won't be adding any attacking players then I think we'd be perfectly fine for the PL and fight to the end. Favorites for sure. But in Europe I'm not sure we'll have enough game changing goal threats if Hazard gets locked down.
