We're saving that for Reus next summer.
-
Wow. Was just coming in to ask which # we think he'll take and you've posted this at the same time. Both 7 and now 17 are gone with Baba taking it yesterday.
-
We've been burned on so many AM signings that I'll temper my excitement until he's played a bunch of games for us. Learned my lesson with Cuadrado.
-
Yep. Just like Luke Shaw who has looked fantastic for United so far this season.
-
Now before United try to save face with this embarrassment HURRY UP AND SIGN STONES before they try to "hijack" our main target!
-
Pay £35-40m now or watch him have a fantastic year and kill it at the Euro's and his price becomes £50-60m and we have ZERO chance of ever signing him. It's basically now or never.
-
BeIN Sport's reliability has come under fire a bunch over the last year for twice coming out with a "WORLD EXCLUSIVE" claiming that Pep Guardiola would sign for City and both times it has been denied. Take whatever they say with a grain of salt.
-
Balotelli too while we're at it.
-
Just worried that he could be the next Cuadrado/Schürrle/Moses/Salah. Wouldn't mind him obviously but can't help but think that if we wait we can get a world class player instead. Maybe Dortmund have another poor season or Reus gets tired of living in Bayern's shadow and wants a new challenge. Maybe Isco gets sick of not being a nailed on first XI player. Maybe Griezmann wants to take a step up and move. All of them are younger than Pedro and dramatically improve us instantly. Pedro is a big gamble.
-
That does look sexy. Stones is the big one. We MUST sign him first and foremost.
-
He's the player we should be trying to send to Everton on loan to sweeten the Stones deal. Could be very effective in front of Coleman and feeding Lukaku from that right side.
-
I was a massive advocate for us getting Pedro when we were strongly linked but after our interest cooled and he was nailed on for United I can't say I was that bothered. I agree with you.
-
We hijack this and watch United hijack Stones.
-
Memphis has that same mentality and killer instinct that his compatriot Robben has and what I wish Hazard had. He wants to test the keeper with every opportunity he gets. Shoot, shoot, shoot. Also, Smalling has improved dramatically. Shaw is settling in nicely there too and will be top class. If we fuck around and aren't able to sign Stones and they do they'll have one hell of a back 4. Darmian looks great as well. All can play comfortably with the ball at their feet and are very mobile. Basically the opposite of ours. Stones is just the type of CB LvG loves and the type of signing that would be typical Man United. Why we need to make positive we get him.
-
We really should be using Mourinho's ongoing great relationship with Real Madrid's president every summer to take their cast offs. They either sell or bench top class players every year due to their lust for new toys.
-
Even if were linked by shit, completely unreliable sources people still go crazy.Just what's happening here. You're right, there's no chance we can sign him.
-
This is the general feeling from Everton fans. They genuinely think Everton is a bigger club than Chelsea. Hilarious.
-
If young English defenders and a winger are going for these prices now, imagine how much an English striker will go for.If Harry Kane has another big season they'll ask Bale money for him.
-
So that's about £70m worth of CB's for City within a year. And people are worried about us paying half of that for Stones who is better than Mangala and much younger than Otamendi and has a higher ceiling.
-
Do Real Madrid, Barca, United, City, or PSG even bat an eyelid when they're paying these enormous prices? No. So why do so many people here care so much? Like José himself said a couple of days ago we of all big clubs have earned the right to splash and spend big after all the great work we've done in the market both spending intelligently and selling at huge profits. If City (whose squad was already more expensive than ours) can spend £50m on Sterling and maybe £50m more on De Bruyne AND another £35-40m on Otamendi I think we can be sure that FFP is essentially toothless. PSG were "punished" by FFP last season just like City but that hasn't stopped them at all. United spent £60m on a 1 year rental of Di Maria for goodness sake! You either spend big like the other big clubs or you become Arsenal of the last decade.
-
This is just what I was coming in to post.It almost feels as though we're throwing in low bid after low bid to get a reaction from Stones himself. That he'll tell Everton he wants to leave and they'll then come and negotiate with us. That clearly isn't happening because Stones isn't the type to kick up a fuss. All we're doing here is making them angrier. Just bid the £35-40m and get him.
-
LOL, come on.Big Sam is available.
-
I'll believe it when I see it.
-
Yeah, I knew he was 2 seasons ago when we were linked with him but I thought he then had a really poor season last year?
-
Still don't understand why they'd sign Kovacic. Didn't he have a hugely disappointing season last year? Even if not is he really Real Madrid standard?
