Midfield 3 with Matic & Witsel just behind Fabregas in the big PL matches and in the CL would be solid as a rock. Fabregas gets freed up more from defensive responsibilities while not leaving Matic do to all of the work. Would be a brilliant signing but I can't see any way it happens without Mikel leaving and that's not looking likely.

So it's completely up to what Pedro wants. Does he want to be an important player here or ride the bench at Barca and waste the prime years of his career? He'll be even further down the pecking order now that Arda is there. The manager and board have now said they won't stand in his way should he want to leave. If he's the best available that we can get (which is looking likely) lets get it done. Want him to have a preseason and be able to hit the ground running.

That's the spirit, champ. A player who has been a part of the greatest club side ever and the best national side ever and won every imaginable trophy he can win will in some way lessen our chances in the CL.

I said I "kind of" agree with him. I think we'll win it but I don't think we'll win it with a large gap between us and the rest of the top 4.There may be only a few points separating the top few sides like in José's first season back two years ago.

I kind of agree with him. Don't think we'll walk the league but I think we'll win it without anyone questioning whether we deserved it or not. Maybe by 5-6 points or something like that.Without any top class signings I think we'd still struggle against the best 3-4 sides in Europe.

Pedro has apparently come out and said that the release clause has indeed been lowered, that he has not spoken to Mourinho, he admits that his situation is looking difficult, but hopes to retire a Barca player.

I hope José will give him plenty of games. Courtois is a lock for the vast majority of PL and CL matches but it would be a nice gesture to see Begovic get the domestic cup games. Just to make him feel important and a valuable member of the team.
