  1. He's one good looking dude. No homo.
  2. Well boys, better pray Cuadrado and Moses step up a level or five. Doesn't look like we'll be getting anyone that will add goals in an attacking position this window.
  3. Would look better if the stripes ran to the end of the sleeves instead of cutting off half way down.
  4. That guy is a serial bullshitter. A completely out of the loop attention whore who tricks gullible people on Twitter into thinking he's ITK.
  5. Longer it takes to get it done, the less likely it'll be that we end up signing him. Everton would probably want multiple CB's in to replace him and need time to do that. Waiting until the end of the window would be dumb. The rumors have seemingly died completely in the last couple of days. Maybe we've given up due to the price?
  6. Don't see any way Kev flops when he'll be playing with MUCH better players around him if he joins City.
  7. Fair enough. All I'm trying to say is that this huge fervor about it being necessary to integrate youth at any cost is annoying. When we don't go after players who can improve us immediately because there are a couple of promising teenagers that may or may not be good enough, that's where my problem is.
  8. Xavi gone, Iniesta slowly being phased out. Their best XI has very few Barca products in it.7 of their 11 starters were bought, many for enormous sums.
  9. Hasn't it been confirmed that Roman will personally fund the new stadium and that it won't eat into Chelsea's transfer dealings at all? Also, to be blunt, I never have and never really will care about bringing through loads of academy players. I'm not English and couldn't care less about the England national team so all this talk about it being such a big deal is annoying. If they are an exceptional case then fine, but if it stops us buying great players (like it appears to be now) that's what pisses me off a bit. The very best sides like Real Madrid, Bayern, and Barca barely have any academy players in their teams. They go out and splash millions and millions on players EVEN AFTER WINNING TITLES.
  10. Callum Chambers. And no, as a CB he isn't rated nearly as highly as Stones is.
  11. Think you're on to something here.He definitely seems frustrated and annoyed in regards to transfer business in his last couple of press conferences. It sounds to me like the club have bid on multiple players but everyone is saying no. He said something like he wants "to make a bid a club will actually accept." He sounds a frustrated that the business isn't being done quickly enough.
  12. And half of those you've just named we've pretty much been burned on. Maybe the owner and board want to try a different approach where instead of buying expensive players we use what we already have? Not an unbelievable scenario, really.
  13. Begovic for Cech is a downgrade and Falcao for Didier is a wash basically. You're right, it's essentially the same, maybe slightly weaker. Just so frustrating seeing our rivals splashing huge money (I know, they need to catch up to us) whilst we clearly have the money to spend but are choosing not to. The most frustrating thing is seeing City pissing in the face of FFP and likely splashing £100m+ on attacking players when they already had the best attack in the league. They clearly aren't afraid of the rules and are showing huge ambition. Conversely, we have areas of the team that sorely need reinforcement and Josè says we need no signings. Even signing John Stones looks like it's off now. We're still an injury to Hazard, Terry, or Matić away from disaster.
  14. I honestly think he's been told that the days of big spending are over and that he's being forced to use academy players or ones like Moses who were out on loan. We'll literally be lining up day one of the PL with the same XI in all likelihood. Would've laughed at someone who told me on the final day of last season that we'd start the next one with a weaker squad.
  15. This quote scares me a bit. It doesn't really sound like a typical José mind game where he lies to the media about transfers. We HAD the best team in England LAST season. There's no guarantee that everyone will perform as well as they did last season or even stay fit. Plus ALL of our rivals will have improved drastically. City, Arsenal, United, and Liverpool have all splashed the cash on players that will directly improve their first XI. Are we seriously not going to sign any quality additions!?
  16. Welcome to Chelsea, Asmir! That looked more like a friendly played just after a long, grueling season had ended and the players are knackered. You'd expect the boys to be fresh and sharp. Embarrassed by what was apparently an MLS under 21 side. The talent of our players alone should blow them off the pitch. José will have our guys ready come Swansea, of that I have no doubt. But man, if our defense plays anything like that when the season starts I'll be dreading Man City in week 2. We need at least two more signings (Stones, a CM) and possibly three (Pedro).
  17. Wow. First game or not that was some embarrassing defending. Just like very early last season. Comedic finishing from us as well.
  18. In our football, yes. Not always the case across the pond.
  19. Look forward to laughing at any meltdowns we get in here if Red Bulls win.
  20. It's fucking insane how City (who scored more goals than anyone last season) will sign TWO £50m attacking players in the same window, yet we (who had the best defense) struggled for goals at times and were heavily dependent on a single player and are focusing almost entirely on defensive signings. How the hell can City afford to spend this fucking much!? And we're seemingly adhering to these fantasy FFP rules that have no bite and have adopted a self imposed "sell before we buy" policy. It's all well and good to take this noble approach that we are, and it'll be great if it works like José hopes it does, but not investing properly and showing ambition has the potential to bite us in the ass so hard.
  21. Hopefully ESPN streams this on the app so I can watch.
  22. I agree that it's madness that these kids are going for those prices but if they live up to their hype and talent we'll think back in 5-10 years and think they were bargains. For instance, United fans will look back at the huge prices they paid for Rio and Rooney and rightly think they were good fees for the careers they got from them. You have legends like Terry, Rio, Gary Lineker, Gary Neville etc saying that Stones is legit and will be a potential England captain. We get him in and let him learn under JT for a couple of seasons and under the world's best manager and £30-35m may seem well worth it soon enough.
  23. I honestly don't care what we pay now. I just fucking want him. Within reason, obviously. With Sterling going for £49m and Shaw going for £30m, getting Stones for a fee somewhere in the 30's is just the going rate. Just get it done.
