  1. If I wake up tomorrow morning and Kante isn't holding up a Chelsea shirt I'm gonna smack someone!
  2. Nearly unplayable when he's bothered. Great combo of pace and power but also has good technical ability and dribbling. Can see him going to Liverpool or Everton or some other decent side and being a pain in our asses like he has been for a while.
  3. Would be weird as hell to have him at actually there working with the team and not even be officially unveiled. But I think David is right, we'd be seeing a bunch of chatter from journalists on Twitter if anything were happening tomorrow.
  4. All Chelsea fans are desperate for transfer news so you can be damned sure we won't hear a peep about it from the club tomorrow. We'll hear the most generic, pre-rehearsed answers and a couple of pics.
  5. I'd be livid as well, man. Mourinho probably knows he's one of our main targets and would love to sign him instead. Fellaini and Mata out, Pogba and Kante in. Two prototypical Mourinho players. Would be amazing if we already had the deal in place and we're just waiting for the Euro's to end before immedietly announcing it tomorrow. That would be too easy and be too good to be true for our club, though.
  6. Honestly wouldn't surprise me if United wanted/get both Pogba and Kante...
  7. I keep waking up each morning and checking Twitter expecting to have signed him. What's taking so long?
  8. That is, unless we fuck around and wait too long. Then he goes to Arsenal or something... We really should be making two signings this coming week. If our club were smart and shrewd Koulibaly should be wrapped up within days of Conte arriving at Cobham. The Euro's will be over tomorrow so hopefully first thing Monday morning we trigger Kante's release clause and make an aggressive push to convince him to sign. Morata will probably be the ling, drawn out saga of the summer if we indeed still want him.
  9. As if Koulibaly would choose them over us even if that bogus rumor were true. It'd be a backward step in his career.
  10. What I meant was that he may become a top class striker/goal scorer here like he hasn't been able to become at Juve or Real Madird. He'd be starting week in and week out here against quality opposition in the PL and working under a world class coach. Don't see why he'd want to stay at Real Madrid and be a squad player. Surely someone his age and with his ability would want to be a star man. Wonder if he has the ambition or is just happy to pull a John Obi Mikel and collect his weekly wage from the bench.
  11. It is kind of funny (in a sad way) that every transfer target we're after is a huge hassle. You know with 100% certainty that it'll be a humongous pain in the ass to sign Kante next week and he's got a bloody release clause, ffs.
  12. True, same with Morata. We probably could've signed him easily for £30-35m a year or two ago. Now it'll cost almost double most likely.
  13. In a world where Sterling and Stones are worth £50m, Sadio Mane is worth £34-38m, and Pogba is worth £103m I really wouldn't care if we splashed out on Morata. If we find ourselves a devastating young striker to pair with Costa and he helps us return to the top it'll be worth it.
  14. I hope it's just them putting pressure on us to pay the right price. I want him!
  15. Guess he's content with being Benzema's backup.
  16. Double unveiling on Monday with Conte & Morata, please. Kante and Koulibaly later in the week. Edit: Now Marca are apparently saying he's for sure staying at Madrid.
  17. So what's that, about the 7th bid for a player we've had rejected this summer thus far?
  18. The prices being talked about for him are crazy but so is everyone shitting on him like he's James Milner or Gareth Barry. There's a reason Real Madrid, Barca, and Juventus (plus United and ourselves if rumors are to be believed) are after him. He's young, very talented, and has a physique that would suit the PL perfectly. I'd take him here gladly.
  19. If the rumors sounded like bullshit before, they smell like bulldiareah now.
  20. He'd be a brilliant signing for a 2nd tier club like Liverpool or Everton but I'm not sure if he's good enough to be a regular at an elite club. When he's actually bothered he's a beast. His problem is he's extremely inconsistent. I get the feeling watching him over the past couple of years that he doesn't look interested a lot of the time because his teammates aren't on his level and he plays down to them. When Newcastle were playing like shit so was he. When they played well as a team he was the danger man.
  21. Reminds me of Wilfried Bony from a couple of years ago when he was good.
  22. Pretty hard to imagine Wenger and Arse spending that much as well. But maybe this is finally the season where they make a true statement of intent... I really hope we get him. The upside is just enormous.
  23. Mirror now saying Arsenal have moved ahead of us and he's leaning towards them because we don't have CL football... Story seems to change 3 times per day.
  24. As was mentioned in an article last week, simply triggering the clause doesn't guarantee that he's ours. Multiple clubs can trigger it and he goes to the highest bidder.
  25. Never thought of that comparison but it's actually kind of a good one. I'd make a bet that Pogba doesn't put up the numbers Kev did last season for City. And he was injured for a bunch of the season. Pogba is the flashier player but De Bruyne is currently more consistent.
