He'll be eager to prove to the English media that he's not as shit as so many of them think. The howlers he sometimes had will never be completely eliminated, but Conte can hopefully get through to him about cutting down on the risks.
Imagine if you had told us just 48 hours ago that we'd be re-signing David Luiz. Everyone would have laughed their heads off and said impossible.
I'm still laughing.
Opposition fans on every forum I look at are basically saying "LOL, PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN. HES FUCKING SHIT!"
As if we're signing some trash player from League One.
So then I guess that does make this even less likely, huh? Unless they've been eyeing another CB for a while and can push everything through in a single day there's no way they'll have a replacement in time.
People also have to remember that the high fee you keep seeing is in β¬ not Β£. Makes it look like we're paying a shit load when you see 27m, but it's about Β£23m. In the age of mega fees that's really not so much if he quickly establishes himself in the team.
Do all of the European transfer windows shut at the same time? I could've sworn each league had their own individual periods since they all start at different times?
So many conflicting reports. Some say they're considering it, some say they've barred the transfer, others say there's not any truth in it at all and there's been no bid.
Tomorrow may get crazy.
This just smacks of the boss at the Daily Mail saying "quick, we need a sensational Chelsea related transfer story to get clicks for deadline day!"
No one else reporting anything.
Sad but probably true.
Though once again paying around Β£20m on a LB for the 3rd straight summer only to not play them would be ridiculous. Surely this lad will actually play...
Those "few details" that prevented him from returning were probably our boards complete inability to find a replacement of similar quality. Think we would've been shot of him if there was another world class striker available.
At least it doesn't appear to be weighing on him and making him pout and play like shit. Think he'll get his move next summer, though.
It really is embarrassing. Chelsea are one of the biggest, richest clubs in the world and we may have to resort to scrambling for a loan signing of of a CB on the final day of the transfer window. The one position we most needed heading into the summer. Shocking, really.
We also can't sign this dude from Inter when they supposedly don't even want him and are replacing him with a new signing? It's just comical.
Something must be going on in regards to the new stadium. It's the only legitimate excuse as to why we aren't spending. But you know what would help fund a new stadium? Fucking CL football money and possibly winning the title! Both of which are monumental asks without more top class signings.
Our club may emerge from this summer looking like complete amateurs. Almost as bad as last summer.
