  1. His team clearly putting our names out there to pressure Man United into giving him a higher wage.
  2. For me our problem isn’t so much that we’re leaking goals in huge numbers. We need a top class CB, yes, but it’s not a desperate, dire need immediately. I would hope that they now realize what a mistake it was not to buy one and will do something this month. Jackson is a great striker to have in your squad but is simply not an elite one that should be starting every match.
  3. If they want to put us in the absolute best position to get UCL football this season then we need a proven goal scorer this month. We absolutely cannot afford to go another season without being in the Champions League. If we seriously pin all our hopes on Nico and Palmer as our only sources of goals then it’s going to be an almighty struggle to achieve top 4.
  4. Guehi plays almost exclusively on the left side despite being right footed from what I’ve seen, btw. Something he obviously wouldn’t be doing here if we bought him. I’m sure for a top talent it isn’t a huge deal to play either side, but again for massive money it’s still a risk throwing a guy in at a position that will take some getting used to. Anyway, it’s kind of concerning that we aren’t really hearing any substantial rumors about a forward. For me that’s even more important than a Cab in the immediate term. Yes our defense can look shaky but by repeatedly failing to kill games off by missing chance after chance up front we basically invite massive pressure at the other end. If we had a clinical killer in front of goal during this awful run of games we’d have been out of sight and cruising and our defense is comfortable.
  5. Don’t think Trev is any better than Tosin. In fact, I think Tosin provides more qualities like aerial dominance that are more useful. They’re about the same skill level and comfort on the ball. I’d rather just let Acheampong continue to get minutes and seeing what he can grow into if Maresca doesn’t fully trust Tosin. As for Guehi, idk. He’s a solid CB but I’ve never really bought into the hype he has built up over the last couple of years. I don’t think he elevates our level defensively. If we’re going to go out and spend silly money on a new CB (which Palace would absolutely demand) then we should be doing so on a truly top level one or someone we feel could become a world class defender. Guehi isn’t worth mega money for me.
  6. We desperately need a top striker and for Lavia to get back already. Caicedo has been an absolute machine and was great again today for the first half. But then even someone as tireless as he usually is was clearly running on empty. We need someone in there badly to lessen his work load.
  7. We should’ve had 3-4 goals before Palace even had the chance to equalize. Jackson scores ANY of the myriad chances where he’s 1 on 1 with the keeper and Palace’s fight and enthusiasm is killed dead. And it’s not even like he’s forcing the keeper into brilliant saves with these chances. He’s missing the fucking target completely! He is NOT a Chelsea level main #9, simple as that. If Isak or Haaland or Osimhen had those chances today that Nico had they’d have a hat trick.
  8. Nicolas Jackson straight up cost us the 3 points today. Through 1 on 1 with the keeper about 5 times and fluffed his lines every single time. I just do not understand how we go from comfortable and dominant for most of the first half to looking completely out of ideas and dead on our feet the second half. With the form of everyone around us compared to ours I don’t feel confident at all anymore that we’ll finish in the top 4. Which a month ago seemed impossible.
  9. Jackson’s finishing may cost us top 4 ultimately. Come the fuck on!
  10. Every single TINY bit of contact and Palace get a free kick. We have a clear penalty not given…
  11. That was 100% a pen. Clear as fucking day on VAR. How do you fucking miss that?!
  12. Palace playing like vintage Stoke just lumping it forward to a huge CF. Just like Ipswich did. And it’s actually effective once again.
  13. Has looked very comfortable in the ball so far and hasn’t panicked at all so yes.
  14. Hopefully we aren’t punished harshly for not finishing all these chances…
  15. Both Neto and Sancho have been awesome so far.
  16. Don’t care how ugly it looks, don’t care how it happens. We MUST win. Anything less and we are in crisis.
  17. We absolutely need another CB this month then. Or a defender of some kind. Because I never want to see Disasi playing in a blue shirt again.
  18. Tbh, the only way I can see us bringing in anyone this month is if this terrible run of form we’re in continues this weekend and we panic buy someone. I just can’t see any big target of ours like Delap being available when Ipswich need him to have a chance of staying up. I can see a few fringe players leaving but in terms of incoming I’m not expecting anyone. Which may be for the best if we would just buy someone just to have an extra body. I’d rather buy nobody than another Disasi or Badiashile. If we look hopeless in the final third for the next couple of matches I wonder if the ownership will break the Osimhen glass and pay his release clause, though… 🤔
  19. Feels like just yesterday we were 4 points ahead of Arse and they were panicking that Saka would be out long term. Now we’re in danger of them running away from us again…
  20. True, the wages may be a no-go if he’s still asking for silly money. But I wonder how happy is is in Turkey playing in a league nobody cares about? He looks like he’s enjoying it well enough when I see clips of him scoring. But maybe he’d jump at the chance of coming to the PL if we tried again and lowered his demands? Who knows. I’d love Delap. Especially after what we saw from him yesterday. But Ipswich would guarantee their relegation if they sold him next month and he doesn’t seem like the sort of lad who would abandon them. But we BADLY need a striker with a totally different profile to Nico. I love the look of Guiu but he’s far too young and raw to be an important player in the league yet.
  21. I wonder if it’s even a slim possibility we go back in for Osimhen or if that ship has sailed. He’s got a set price now, right?
  22. Every single one of our attackers has gone completely off the boil simultaneously. Madueke started the season on fire and has been woeful for the most part since his supposed “coming out party” against Wolves with that hat trick. Sancho was really solid his first handful of matches but has now retreated into his shell. Neto tries hard at least but hasn’t been effective. Even Palmer has only really shown small flashes of quality during this shit run.
  23. The most annoying thing about that game is that Ipswich did basically NOTHING as a team and won 2-0. Just Delap running around like a maniac by himself and bullying our CB’s single-handedly. They didn’t pass it around and press us like Fulham did, they didn’t smack in a hundred crosses and threaten from corners, they didn’t destroy us on the counter. They seriously just had 1 single striker running and hoping for a mistake from our defense and waiting to pounce. And we obliged.
  24. The Chelsea of last season is well and truly back. They tricked us into thinking we genuinely turned a corner, but no. Dominate the run of play, can’t score to save our lives, and then utterly shambolic defending at the other end resulting in us being punished for EVERY little mistake. And this doesn’t look like a small blip, either. We well and truly have looked shattered and completely devoid of ideas out there these last 3 matches. ZERO attacking quality in the final third at all apart from the odd Palmer shot from distance. We’re in trouble now. Losing and failing to score against a side who have leaked goals all season, had ZERO wins at home, and 2 wins all season. Humiliating. What looked like a comfortable place in the top 4 before now looks like well fighting desperately just to scrape 4th by the end of the season.
  25. The penalty decision and instant VAR check was absurd. Jorgensen avoided him well and Delap dangles his leg out behind him and drags it into the keeper. That’s never a pen.
