  1. Wonder why we aren’t looking at Emi Martinez if we want an expericend top keeper who is apparently available.
  2. I’d have been over the moon with us going for Maignan a year or two ago. But from everything I’ve read he has taken a big step back recently. Guess the biggest shock though is that we may indeed be after a new keeper which is the last thing I expected.
  3. I’d take Mbeumo a million times over Gittens or Garnacho.
  4. I was fine with Sancho staying or going. But fuck sake, if we actually sign Gittens for £50m to replace him. A 15th placed, broke, club in absolute shambles Man United are going to have more ambitious targets than us after finishing in the UCL and winning a trophy. 🤦‍♂️
  5. Have to agree unless we were to sign Nico Williams which looks highly unlikely. Think Mbuemo is going to thrive in all the games against the other big teams for United where you would assume they’ll have less of the ball and he can use his pace and aggression on counter attacks just like at Brentford. I wasn’t personally bothered whatsoever about them splashing on Cunha who is a good player. But Mbuemo I think will pretty scary if Amorim and their recruitment can nail this rebuild.
  6. For sure there would be some of our fans underwhelmed if we signed him but not me. It’s not even mostly about his goals for me but about his playing style and mentality. He’s an animal on the pitch.
  7. If they get a proper striker like Gyokeres then they’ll have a genuinely great attack. For a club that finished 15th and were a total embarrassment. Biggest thing they’re still missing though is a decent central midfield. They need a total rebuild in there. Unfortunately, it appears like United SHOULD take a big step forward next season instead of continuing to be a laughingstock like I had hoped. Having no European football and 1 game per week to focus on most of the season should massively help them fright for 4th.
  8. Mbuemo to United, then. That’ll be an annoyingly good signing.
  9. As others in here have mentioned, it’s probably never a good sign when the supporters of the club aren’t bothered at all if a player is sold. Dortmund fans seem perfectly happy to see Gittens sold. For me he feels like such a Spurs or Villa level signing where that sort of price is the highest they’ll go to and his level is all they can attract. Chelsea should be aiming much higher. All Gittens feels like he’d be here is expensive squad depth. And since that’s the case we may as well just keep Sancho for half the cost.
  10. Can’t imagine it. He’s the complete opposite profile that this ownership goes after. Too old and WAY too high wages. He’ll probably be out on loan to some midtable club with City covering some of his wages until his contract runs out.
  11. Oh god. It is indeed pretty strange we haven’t had our name mentioned with him since were linked with every other winger out there.
  12. Maybe Boehly/Egbahli are working in the shadows and will pull another Caicedo/Lavia on Liverpool and steal Wirtz 🤣🤣🤣 In all seriousness, what’s going on with that deal? Sounded done and dusted but now I’ve seen that Leverkusen have declined 2 bids from Liverpool?
  13. Nico Jackson can and I think WILL develop into a very nice striker. Just not an elite one. So if he’s sold I hope we don’t do so to a rival PL club where he’d have the potential to annoy us. Madueke, I don’t care. Just get rid. Has some nice qualities but angers me almost every game I watch.
  14. Gittens would just feel like such a “watch how smart we are” kind of signing in that his playing style and skill set are VERY similar to Nico Williams but his wage demands are probably half or a third of what Williams will be after. So if we get Gittens and he blows up these guys can claim they’re geniuses for not going huge on Nico Williams. Just feels like he’d be such an unnecessary gamble. He’s way more likely to just be “okay” in the same way that Madueke or Sancho have been. And that’s the last thing we need in a new wide attacker. We need someone who we can have a super high level of confidence will come in and elevate our side.
  15. Imagine we send back Sancho and take Garnacho from United. Fuck me… 🤦‍♂️
  16. Villa missing out on UCL could really play into our favor. Relationship between the clubs should be pretty good since we’ve already done multiple deals with them recently. Us getting Rogers and sending them one of our unneeded players would be perfect. I was watching the F1 race this morning where the England squad were guests of McLaren. Guess who Palmer was shown on camera hanging out with? His best mate Morgan Rogers… 👀
  17. Garnacho is so bang average that id actually do a little celebration if we were to get Gittens instead. And I don’t even want the latter at all either. Garnacho would be like having 2 Madueke’s. Wide players that do well until up they have to use their football brain and everything goes to shit.
  18. I’m not even sure Guehi is an obvious upgrade on Trev or Tosin. He’s just a solid CB just like those two are, nothing special. He’s doesn’t have any real upside and isn’t going to be getting better than he is now. Whereas someone like Branthwaite is solid now but should only get better. Much higher ceiling than Guehi. He looks like he can become a physically dominant CB like we need.
  19. In terms of having the squad and the playing style, Arse are very close to being UCL winning quality. It’s all about whether their players have the mentality when it comes to the very biggest, highest pressure matches and whether Arteta is good enough tactically.
  20. Great player but I wouldn’t say superstar. But yes, we see the value of these amazing wide attackers. If we make a statement attacking signing it needs to be someone in those areas like Kvara or Doué. Nico Williams fits the bill.
  21. Elite coach, elite recruitment. Our board will probably feel vindicated in a sense that we’re following a similar model as PSG. Rather than going for ready made superstars you build a team of mega talented young players who will grow together. Whether we have the manager who can extract the most out of our young players is the question.
  22. Benfica were already SUPER annoyed with us for taking Enzo in the way we did. There’s probably no chance they would’ve worked with us in signing their next wonderkid midfielder so soon afterwards.
  23. The real regret, despite how decent of a job Maresca did, was missing out on Enrique who many in the Chelsea fanbase were skeptical about. He has PSG passing and moving in the same patterns as prime Barca within a year with a super young squad just like ours.
  24. Doué was never going to go anywhere else once the biggest team in his home country made a big play for him so no one should feel annoyed that we didn’t get him. As for this match, Inter don’t look like they belong here. They look like a side who massively overachieved and punched way beyond their actual level. They aren’t anywhere close to the very elite. They’re just a good solid team but not a great one.
  25. Even United fans have said that Mainoo took a serious step back this season. And that’s when he was actually fit. The last area of our squad where we even need to think of buying anyone is in the middle of the pitch. Caicedo, Enzo, Lavia, Santos, and Essugo. That’s already too many and I bet anything that Essugo will go on loan. And that’s not even counting KDH, Ugochukwu, and Amougu who’s futures need to be sorted. Buying another midfielder would just be silly.
