Imagine also if this happens PLUS we lose todays match to Potter and Jackson misses 5 more easy chances…

Our fanbase is going to go nuts tomorrow if all we do is bring in another 19 year old kid from City who has 1 senior appearance. It’s going to be a sight to behold. Tbf, the kid does look super talented. But good God, is he not AT ALL what this team needs right now. And this talk of a buy back clause? For a club like Chelsea to do for another PL club? That would effectively make us City’s bitch. That’s some small club shit.
-
I really don’t know why these reports about our valuations even come out. They’re so outlandish even for this board that I don’t believe them. We’ve seen reports that we want £40m+ for Carney, £60m+ each for Felix & Nkunku. As stupid as these guys are there’s surely no chance these numbers are real.
-
Nico Jackson and Havertz are players of the same level. Very solid strikers but not good enough to be THE #9 at either club if they have ambitions of winning a PL title.
-
I legit laughed out loud at that Fabrizio tweet linking us with some random kid from City’s youth team. You literally couldn’t make it up. 🤣🤣🤣 We badly need an experienced, ready made midfielder as cover in case Caicedo or Enzo get injured or just as rotation to play lots of minutes. So we target another child that’s nowhere near ready to come into a team like ours and meaningfully contribute. This board is a joke.
-
I’d be stunned if we bought anyone now. But anyone we do bring in is probably going to make us all say “why the fuck did we do that?!” and not in the good way. I’m already imagining us bringing in some random midfielder that’s nowhere near Chelsea quality when we have better options out on loan on our books already.
-
With Ferguson now off the table (which is a good thing) there’s really not anyone left that’s viable for us to get as a #9 in these last couple of days. Our board has actually witnessed Jackson go goalless for like 10 straight matches and miss 100 cha cues and decided not to do anything. That is unbelievable.
-
Shhhh. Don’t counter me with facts. Let’s just get it done. 🤣
-
We should bring N’golo back on a short term deal. He’s not even 34 and as we saw this past summer for France he’s still a machine. If we used him sparingly and not as an every match player we could easily get a good couple of seasons out of him.
-
No Felix there then.
-
Ferguson feels like Lavia or Wes Fofana all over again where we’d be seeing him out injured more than on the pitch. We’ve left it so incredibly late though that there’s surely not a chance in hell any of those other strikers are available because they wouldn’t be able to be replaced. Gyokeres has a release clause that would in theory make him the easiest to sign but could we actually convince him to come here right now midseason? He’ll likely have his pick of a handful of top clubs in the summer and the UCL scenarios will be set then. Ipswich selling Delap with a day or two left seems impossible and Sesko, much like Gyokeres, will have lots of top teams after him in the summer so would probably want to wait.
-
Good. Not needed at all.
-
They’re having the kind of surgical window we had a few years ago where we brought in Fabregas and Costa and others. For whatever reason, all of us supporters can see our glaring holes and our club turns a blind eye to it and refuses to move. Even with the massive prize of UCL football and the revenue that comes with it at stake they don’t act.
-
City after yet ANOTHER big money January signing now. A serious club who instantly identified their glaring holes and AGGRESSIVELY addressing them. We meanwhile…. 🙄🙄🙄
-
Why any club (especially a big PL one) would accept a 19 year old, raw kid on loan for 6 months just to basically help him develop for a return to Bayern is silly. And that seems to be what Tel himself favors. He wants to make it at Bayern so a short term loan where he plays a bunch of minutes and then returns is alluring. So I pray we won’t be the dumbass club who agrees to that. I already don’t fancy him at all on a permanent transfer. But if we try for a loan I’m going to be pissed. Thankfully there’s no talk of that. Yet…
-
One of the weirdest recent transfer “saga’s.” All of the top reporters saying he was almost certain to leave because United are skint and desperately need money. Then ever since that brief to all of them the rumors just died. United are just about to spend 40m on a LB so I guess they were wrong about them being broke as well. Hopefully there’s a bit of common sense from this board after all and they won’t pay silly money for this average player.
-
If you listed the players we’ve been linked to this summer it looks like a wishlist for a club like Everton or West Ham.
-
I called us going for Ferguson here a week ago. It would be the most stereotypical Clearlake signing ever so it was obvious that if he was available we’d go for him. Tbf, when he was fit last season he looked like one hell of a striker prospect. But hasn’t he sort of fallen off the map post injury? I haven’t kept up with him all season. But Brighton are a club that is always super difficult to deal with so if they’re willing to let go of such a young talent that should be a red flag, no?
-
I’m actually surprised the Saudi’s have never come after Felix. Big name, talented enough to go to that pathetic league and probably score a bunch. He very marketable. And I suspect that having bounced around nonstop he himself would probably take the chance to essentially retire and earn 600k per week or something.
-
Literally couldn’t care less about Tel even if Spuds get him. And from his perspective Spuds makes perfect sense because they’re not only in the mud currently, they’re 6 feet below the mud and devastated by injury. So he walks straight into their team and plays every single game. Here he wouldn’t. I’ll be delighted if we avoid wasting 60m on him.
-
I disagree 🤷♂️ Don’t think he starts over Sancho who I think has been okay for us.
-
The way a huge number of clubs are apparently queueing up trying to snatch Tel you’d think he’s Florian Wirtz and is the most promising AM Prost left out there. I just don’t see it. He doesn’t look special at all to me on YT where anyone can be made to look awesome. He looks like yet another raw attacker who doesn’t have a natural position. I feel like if he came here he’d be in the exact situation that Nkunku & Felix are currently in. He’d come on for a few minutes here and there, fail to impress in that limited time, and then rot on the bench.
-
🤢🤢🤢 Just what we need, the English Nico Jackson who will run and look pretty good until it comes to actually burying chances. Wouldn’t put it past our jokers in charge, though, you’re right.
-
Is there not some other under the radar striker tearing it up in some other league in a similar way that Marmoush was before City bought him?
-
Really is the only reason I can think of. Neither is at the age where they could be flipped later for more than we paid for them if they don’t work out.
