Yeah, he's not quite as crispy with his passes as Cesc in his prime, but he's got that same eye for a ball over the top that has made Cesc great. Just thinking back to that dreadfully inadequate midfield 2 of Kante & Bakayoko or Kante & Cesc and now knowing that we may have Jorginho in there instead makes me so excited.

For me, it's more like they really like/want Jorginho but aren't desperate for him since their squad is already so great. He would've been a luxury signing for them like Mahrez is. Just like Fred was going to be before United pinched him.

My guess is that we announce stuff tomorrow as to not steal attention and headlines from England. I know that sounds dumb, but it's something I think our club would do.

Cesc should be kept as a squad player. Perfect against tired legs when small teams who park the doubled decker.

Has real boom or bust potential. If he's at his best and hits the ground running he's one of the best pure #9's about. But at his age and with his physique he's also a significant risk. Even if he's not the Higuain of the last couple of seasons he should still feast against small teams and put away all those 1v1's that Morata fluffs.

Looks like all the "reliable" Italian journo's are running with it now. It'll then be even more of a letdown if he ends up at City.

I'd really prefer we add Higuain to Morata and Giroud rather than replacing one of them. We can't risk Higuain getting injured and having only Giroud (who isn't exactly a Sarri striker) to lead our line for a long period. Morata I feel can come good and be super useful in multiple formations.

Again and again we keep hearing that the "blockage" will be lifted this day and that day. Hopefully this is finally it.

Pep seems to absolutely love Sterling so I can't imagine he'll just drop him right away for Mahrez even though Mahrez is much better in my opinion.

Doesn't really make City scarier in individual matches since they were already terrifying. What this kind of signing gives them is the ability to rotate in attackers without dropping at all in quality. This is what having limitless funds and an ambitious ownership/board gets you.
